Love and family spring eternal Part Prolouge

Summary: What happens when Shaft get injured on a mission and can never wield a bow and arrow again? The Youngblood team face a great danger and two members are hurt beyond repair. Who will save the team? Enter Hawkeye. He runs into a lovely silver haired alien and falls in love at first sight. Read on to find out what happens to all the love birds in this fic.

In the middle of a battle Shaft is fighting five men all bigger and stronger than himself. He looks at the rest of his team. He calls to PsyFire, "I need you to channel your fire at the control panel."
PsyFire nods his head. He reaches down deep and starts to channel his energy.
Chapel looks at Shaft with worry and fear. 'Why are you not moving, my love?' he thinks. He feels the heat through the room.
PsyFire laughs and releases his full force. He shouts, "Now you all die."
Shaft screams in pain as the fire engulf his left arm.
Chapel falls to the ground with tears falling down his cheek. He understood that the whole team knew about Shaft and himself.
Combat walked up to Chapel and helped him up. He said, "Have faith in Shaft."
Riptide and Brama walk out carrying Shaft.
Chapel seen Shaft's left arm badly burned. He walks away from the team and over to PsyFire who is now being held by Badrock. He pulled out his gun and fired at PsyFire's head.
Badrock could do nothing but stand there as PsyFire's body went limp and his blood covered his hole body.
The rest of the team was too stunned to move.

~2 months later~
Youngblood HQ Shaft sits down at the dining table and sighs. He thinks nobody is around and says to himself, 'I am of no use to the team. All I can do is send them out and worry that I may never see Chapel again.' A cough from the other side of the kitchen causes Shaft to jump.
Combat steps out of the darkness and said, "I have an idea. On my home planet when one was injured beyond all hope, the one injured would find an appropriate replacement. The one injured would stay fighting using his other skills. You are just a warrior like that but still able to fight. I might know of an equal replacement for your arrows. My sister Kryla. She is young but powerful."
Shaft said, "Can she make it here on time?"
Combat nods and said, "I will send for her and tell her that it is urgent she come to me as fast as space and time will let her."
Shaft smiled for the first time in two months.
Chapel listened and watched at the door. He realised how much he missed those smiles. He was glad that Combat told him to follow. The smile brought his lover out of the depression that Shaft was sinking into.
