The first time Bruce actually says *it* to him, Dick has to take a moment, pause his brain, and reboot in the next second.
Bruce stops the movement of his hips and strokes a bold line down Dick’s face, rubs a streak under the young man’s left eye and just watches the acrobat take one long breath.
“Bruce, say that…again.”
“I love you.”
It takes the weird sort of practice Batman always got him on to calm his breathing, to bring it down to a reasonable rate and watch *Bruce* smile. To not think of how compromising, how carnal and sensualistic they must look together, undivided at the almost middle of their bodies.
