His hands slammed down on her shoulders. Bracing himself.
"No." He ground out. His whole body was shaking.
"You think not?" The sorceress laughed, brushing a hand over his shoulder. He jerked when she touched him, like she'd jabbed him with a live wire. "You feel that, mortal man?" She stepped back lightly, almost dancing."You feel your heart pounding in your loins? You feel the desire I've blessed you with?"
Diana couldn't help it. She looked. Batman was shaking his head. Denial.
"No, I-" His muscles moved then, without him. A leg sweep, and she crashed to the ground, her own limbs similarly beyond her control. She lay spread-eagled as he sank between her legs, breathing hard with the exertion of resisting himself.
“Batman-” She murmured, her heart thumping loudly in her ears..
“It won't happen, Diana, I won't-” But the witch tore open his costume, using his hand. Then Diana felt his fingers slip under the hem of her blue bottoms. Her eyes met his, wide but determined.
“Batman, I've never...”She was breathing too fast. Panic? Never. His eyes got wide, too. He'd understood her.
“Oh, my God.”He breathed in horror, as he sank into her.
She choked wordlessly, the pain of her maidenhead giving way catching her by surprise. Batman must have felt it as well, or perhaps it was just the sound she made. His whole body tensed, fighting itself.. Fighting...his face was going red, dark red...he would kill himself like that and not solve anything...
“I'm glad its you.”She breathed, lifting her head as much as she could manage. Lightly, she touched his forehead with hers. Her eyes were burning, so she shut
them a moment. “If it had to be anyone...”
He collapsed on top of her, thrusting into her with a groan.
“Diana,” He gasped, burying his head in her shoulder.”I'm sorry. I'm so sorry...”
“Not your fault.” She murmured. She would not cry. Circe had taken too much from her already.Diana would not give her that. “She wants to break us.” She breathed, her voice firmer. “She wants to *break* us.”
Batman was nearly of a height with her. Their eyes were almost level as he let his head hang a little, pushing into her strongly. She saw resolve harden on his
face, in his eyes behind the lenses.
“I wouldn't give her the satisfaction.” His hands, threaded with hers and pinning her to the ground, squeezed once.
Her hips lifted a little, on their own, and Batman made a small strangled sound. She saw something terrible flash over his face.
“No.” he gasped, and she saw him bite his lower lip savagely, drawing blood. “NO.” He ground out.
Oh, Hera. She realized. Circe was going to force him to...
“Batman,” She breathed, lifting her head, rubbing her cheek alongside his. “Look at me. Look at *me*.” She insisted. His eyes lifted to hers for an instant and
she used it.”It's just me,” she told him, daring him to look away with the fierceness in her eyes.”It's just you and me, Batman.” She said it because Circe was listening. She said Batman, but she meant Bruce, and he caught it, heard it, and relaxed against her.
“Diana.” He breathed and she smiled at him like he was the only man in the world.
“Just me,“ she replied, and his lips met hers with a sweetness that was shocking, shocking right down to her bones. Diana kissed him, and *she* had nothing to do with it. He thrust into her, and *she* had nothing to do with that, either. His lips tightened over hers, his hands clamping down and he gasped into her mouth, biting her a little as his body shook above her, every muscle seeming to heave at once. A sharp tooth caught the thin skin on the inside of her lip. Blood mixed in her mouth, his and hers. He went abruptly and unnaturally limp on top of her, breathing raggedly. An instant later she, too, felt the invisible bonds dissolve and lay flat, her muscles twitching from the strain she'd placed on them, resisting.
Circe was laughing. She was laughing at them. Bruce pushed himself up and there was such a rage on his face it should have killed her on the spot. Then he
looked down at her, and the shame ate at the rage. She smiled up at him, a hunter's smile, and lifted a hand for him to help her up.
She never asked for, and never expected that kind of help. In a battle, in the battles they'd fought together, if she didn't get up on her own it meant she was
unconscious, or dead. Batman knew it. He was the same way. He looked down at her in some surprise, down at that spark in her eye, and his face took on an expression she always enjoyed. They were going to win. She let him pull her up to her feet in one smooth motion and stood close to him, exposed, head held high.
Not broken. Not even close.
“Oh, you think we're through? Not quite, little dolls.” Circe took a step towards Batman, and Diana felt the force grab hold of her again. Batman grunted softly,
abruptly frozen in place. Circe leaned close, whispered softly to him.
A human woman wouldn't have heard. Diana wasn't human.
“You know, when I bargained for this spell with Hecate, I had to swear not to kill her.” Circe laughed softly. “Athena's pet. I swore not to even search for
her, but I didn't need to, did I?” She lifted her head slightly and looked Diana right in the eye. “You brought her to me. My gratitude, Batman. I hope you liked
the paltry little gift I gave you in return.”
Circe took a step back. Bruce was nearly vibrating in place.
“I've let your distress call get through. Your friends should be here to save you any minute. Give them my regards-” She said expansively, vanishing. The spot
she vacated was sliced through with a batarang and looped with golden rope, but she vanished nontheless.
Diana listened, looking east.
“Kal.” She said, coiling her lasso. Batman removed his cape and wrapped it around her, gently, gently. Inexplicably, the simple courtesy shocked her, almost
made her tear up. She rested a grateful head on his shoulder, instead. His arms went around her awkwardly as she heard Kal land.
“What happened?” Superman asked, sounding appalled. He hissed in a breath and she looked up at him. He was staring down at her borrowed cape. X-ray
vision...
“Who-” He sputtered, seeming to swell with anger. “Who did this to you?!”
She glanced up at Bruce. She couldn't help it. He took her by the shoulders and firmly pushed her from him.
“I did.” Batman said quietly.
Kal gaped at him for a moment. His eyes darkened. Kansas stormclouds, racing towards them.
“What?” He hissed.
“I did this.” Batman said stupidly, because he felt guilty, because he wanted to be hated. Kal was watching him, watching his heartbeat, his eyes, and knew he
wasn't lying. Superman made a movement forward, just a small clenching of muscles, and she saw he was angry enough that he might hurt Bruce without even
trying, without even thinking.
He stopped abruptly.
She was in his way, pushing Bruce behind her, chin lifted defiantly.
“Stop being so stupid.” She snapped, at both of them.
“But...” Kal said, abashed.
“If you think for one minute Batman would do something like this of his own free will you're a fool.” She said bluntly, furious.”It was Circe. She forced us.”
“She...”Kal's eyes got a faraway look in them for a second.” She can do that?” He asked.
“Apparently.” Batman said dryly.
“We can continue this up at the watchtower, I think.” Diana said, hugging the cape a little closer.”I need to get a new uniform.”
Both men flinched, for different reasons.
