Raven walked the streets during the night. It had started raining as she stood under a lamp post. She extended her hand out of her cloak and felt the cool drops fall on her hands, dancing along her finger tips. She smiled inside and tucked her hand away, continuing to walk down the street.

“Hey! Give that back!” A woman screamed, holding onto her purse as a man tried to snatch it.

He succeeded and took off down the road, Raven’s eyes started to glow and she lifted the man up, bringing him back to the woman. She snatched her purse back and ran down the street.

The man dropped and looked at Raven. He pulled out a switch blade and ran to her. A black foot dropped from the sky and landed on the guy, knocking him out. Raven looked up and narrowed her eyes.

“I don’t need your help.” She said calmly.

“I know.” Red X turned around and draped his cape over him. “I just wanted to see you.”

“And for what purpose?”

He shrugged and took a few steps to her, towering over her small petite body. He extended a hand and pushed back her hood, looking at her beauty.

“I still…”

“Save it.” She said, turning around.

Red X frowned and grabbed her arm. Raven shot around and blasted him to the wall. He fell with a thud and looked up at her.

“Never touch me…”

Red X stood and brushed himself off. “I want to show you something.”

“I’m not going anywhere with you.”

“It concerns Robin.”

Raven raised an eyebrow and pulled her hood back on. “I know you’re lying.”

“Read my mind…you’ll see that I’m not.”

She already had and knew he wasn’t, she didn’t want to trust him, not after what he did. He extended his hand and looked at her.

“Fine.” She said pushing past his hand.

Red X nodded and grabbed hers without her permission and pulled her to him as he pressed the button on his belt. They arrived at a hip nightclub, one similar to the one she and X had been.

Red X pointed to the floor and there was Robin. He was dancing with Starfire, who had her arms wrapped around his neck.

“They’re dancing…”

“A little too close.”

Raven looked at him, “I trust Robin. And not what is up your sleeve.”

“I like you Raven. That’s all…if I could take back what I did…I would…”

Raven looked at him and narrowed her eyes, he nudged her again and she looked down. Her eyes widened as she saw Robin lean in and plant a kiss on Starfire. Her blood boiled, he lied to her.

She took a few steps back and held her hand to her mouth, shaking her head. Red X lightly touched her back and leaned in.

“They’ve been doing this since you came back to them.”

“What are you doing? Keep tabs on Robin?” She snapped at him.

“No, you. And if that involves watching Robin get his funk on with the alien…”

Raven pushed him and left, walking up to the roof and leaning against the wall. She wanted to cry or yell or something. Red X walked up after her and leaned against the wall.

“He said he was happy.” She whispered, looking at her hands.

“Happy with both of you.”

Raven glared at him and stood up, covering herself with her cloak. Red X wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her to him, his breath visible in the cold.

“Get off of me.” She demanded, pushing him away.

“I just wanted…”

Red X stared behind Raven, she turned around and there was Slade.

“You brought him here, didn’t you.” She said, smacking him in the chest.

“Actually I didn’t…” He replied taking a step back and pulling her with him.

“Traitor…I’ll make sure you suffer.” Slade spat, running towards Raven and Red X.

Red X pushed Raven away as Slade jumped onto him, pushing him to the ground. There was a giant crash and everyone on the dance floor looked up. Robin and Starfire nodded and decided to go check it out.

Raven threw Slade from Red X and moved over to him, helping him up.

“I’m bleeding…” He groaned, holding his side.

Raven looked at Slade as he ran to her. She created a wall and kept him away. Robin and Starfire busted through the door.

“Raven!?” Robin asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Not now!” She shouted.

He looked at Slade and growled, pulling his bo staff out. He rushed over to Slade and the two began fighting. Starfire moved to Red X and helped him up. She held a hand out to Raven but Raven pushed it away.

“Don’t touch me.” She snapped, flying up to go help Robin.

“She knows.” Red X said with a groan, Starfire’s eyes lit up.

Raven grabbed Robin and pulled him back as Slade was about to punch him. She landed next to him and he stared at her. They looked at each other and then ran towards Slade. He jumped up and tried to kick Raven but she disappeared into black energy and appeared behind him, pushing him to Robin. Robin swung the staff at his head, making his head tilt to the side.

Slade grunted and fell to the ground. He looked up at the two Titans and chuckled.

“Two of a kind…” He pressed something and disappeared.

Raven growled as Robin snaked an arm around her waist.

“Raven!” He called as she walked past Robin and to Red X, holding onto his wound and healing him.

“Thanks.” She whispered, giving him a small smile.

“Later, kids.” He said pressing his belt and disappearing.

“You let him go!” Robin shouted running over to her. “After what he did!”

“What he did wasn’t as bad as what you did, Robin.” She said, moving past Starfire and walking down the stairs.

“Raven knows…” Starfire said, looking down.

“Oh…” Robin replied watching Raven disappear.

“Raven!” He called, running after her.

Raven turned around while they were out in the sheet and looked at him.

“You promised…you lied…” She said, taking a step back as he extended his hand.

“Raven, you have to understand…”

“Am I always going to be second, Robin?”

Robin looked down and didn’t say anything. “Maybe…we should try…being friends.”

Raven looked away at his words and nodded. “Alright.”

“I do love you Raven.”

“Just not in that way.” She finished his sentence, watching him nod.

Raven turned away and continued walking down the street, Starfire following Robin outside. She gripped onto his hand, their fingers intertwined.

“Will Raven be…alright?” She asked him.

“I don’t know. I hope so.” He responded, watching her disappear into a raven and fly off.

He and Starfire walked back into the nightclub. Raven looked down from a roof top at the couple and knew, they’d be better off friends. She felt her heart drop and clutched her hand to her chest, crying a little.

She turned and saw a bouquet of violet roses on the ground in a black vase. She picked one up and looked at it, staring around. She noticed Red X standing atop a higher building, staring down at her.

Maybe she’d be better off finding some one else…she thought, watching him salute her and disappear. She brought the rose to her lips and lifted the rest up, flying back to the tower.
