“What’s going on between you and that Mantle guy? Should I be worried about him?” Jarrod asked Betty while they were waiting in line to check their bags at the airport. She had been unusually quiet and he was worried he was losing her.
They were going back to Texas and their final exams. They would both be graduating and Jarrod didn’t want her to go away without letting him know where she was going. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
Yes, you do, she thought wildly. But she calmly answered his question, even looking him in his eyes. “No of course not. We’ve been friends for a long time,” she lied. She knew Jarrod was in love with her, and she tried her best to love him, but always got blocked by a pair of piercing green eyes and the most delicious lips and loveliest cock known to man...or woman in this case. Anyway, she could not love Jarrod and hated herself for it. He was a nice man and deserved better.
“Betty, I have to say it...I love you and want to get married.” He took her hand as they walked towards the security section of the airport.
“Please Jarrod, not here! Can we do this when we get back?” That will give me time to make up a good excuse to turn you down. She was taking off her shoes and raising her arms as she went through the metal detector. She couldn’t believe he wanted to talk about marriage at this time. She could see the security agents smiling and trying to listen to their conversation. “Go on honey, give the guy a break,” one of them said to her, causing her to blush a deep shade of pink.
“Okay Betty, I’ll wait until we get back home, but we really have to talk.” Jarrod put his arm around her and she rested her head on his shoulder.
I have to stop hurting good people because of my Reggie obsession. But is it fair to Jarrod that I would be thinking of another man every time he touched me? Oh God, what am I going to do?
They were silent during the two hour flight, and she was relieved when they got their baggage and caught a taxi to Betty’s dorm. She hoped Jarrod was going home, but no luck. Her big mouthed roommate, Barbara Burk, made sure Jarrod heard her tell Betty she would be away for the long holiday weekend. “So have fun you two.” she gushed as she left to visit her family in Dallas.
As soon as they entered the empty room, he grabbed her and kissed her, desperately in love with her. She returned his kiss, equally desperate, trying her best to wipe out the memory of the most irritating and loveable man she had ever known. They kissed for several minutes before he began removing her silk blouse. She hid a sigh as he fumbled with her buttons and bra. Finally after several minutes of struggling, she helped him by removing all of her clothes. When she was nude, she helped him undress. This was how it always was. He’d be too excited to finish undressing her and she ended up undressing them both. She tried not to think of how smoothly Reggie undressed her, but her mind drifted off as Jarrod caressed and kissed her skin. He was back in control and the pleasure he gave intensified as he sucked her nipples and fingered her clit. She arched her back and reached for his cock, massaging it as her mind wandered, full of thoughts of Reggie. “Betty, I love you, oh baby, please marry me” Jarrod begged as he turned her over and entered her body.
“Oh yes!! Yes! I’ll marry you, Reggie! I love you!” she yelled, totally unaware of what she said. But Jarrod heard her, losing his erection immediately. “What’s the matter, Jarrod? What...?” She realized he went soft inside of her and he slipped out leaving her unfulfilled, as always.
“Now I know how you really feel about me.”
“Jarrod! What do you mean?”
“You don’t know what you just said, do you?” She shook her head, truly puzzled.
“You just agreed to marry Reggie. I’m finished with you.” Betty burst into tears, truly mortified as Jarrod got up and got dressed.
“I’m sorry Jarrod. You deserve better. I never realized how I felt about him until now. Please don’t hate me.”
Jarrod sighed. He walked over and placed his hand on her cheek, stroking it. “I don’t hate you, Betty. I can't be angr because you’ve never lied to me. I guess I always knew there was someone else. but I hoped...anyway, see you around.” He silently got dressed grabbed his bags and quietly left the apartment. He was heartbroken, but knew he could never have her. He ignored her tears as he left, for good.
“Oh my God. I’m in love with Reggie Mantle,” she wailed as she sobbed throughout the night.

Betty graduated from college with honors and secured a job as a copywriter at a prestigious publishing house in New York City. She had intentions of becoming an editor as soon as she could. She worked hard, stayed late and was a general gofer for the editors, learning from them as she labored for them.
She kept busy so she wouldn’t think of Reggie, though she spoke to him once in a while, but she always abruptly ended the conversation when it looked as if he wanted them to meet. She didn’t want to be his ‘booty call’ so she stayed away from him. So, they did not speak often. Thank God she didn’t call his name during sex any more. Once was enough for her.
‘miss Cooper, we have a new copywriter and I need you to show him the ropes, her supervisor, Wayne Riggs told her one sunny July day. She was literally up to her eyeballs in manuscripts and having to train a new employee would just be the icing on the cake of this horrific day. Of course she agreed. What else could she do,
“Of course Mr. Riggs, Send him over. She sighed. Now it would take her twice as long to finish her work. Now I have to answer a hundred stupid questions, over and over.... she griped as her boss went to get the new man. He’s probably ugly as hell, too, she thought.
Riggs went back to his office to get the new man. He was happy. This man was well read and very smart. Plus he went to a prestigious college and graduated with a 4.0 index. He couldn’t believe his good luck. Betty was busy reading a boring guide on how to build model ships when Mr. Riggs brought her new coworker over.
“Well here he is. Betty Cooper, meet Reggie Mantle.”
Mr. Riggs was astonished when he saw Betty’s face go pale as she fainted dead away.
