Jump City was eerily calm that night. The distant blares of sirens and the occasional sound of breaking class echoed across the empty roof tops and dark lonely alleyways. Robin and Beast Boy landed atop a large empty roof top of a Chinese food take away. Beast Boy, in the form of a large green German Sheppard, sniffed the ground around the two as Robin checked several things on his communicators.

“She said to meet here at 2 AM.” Robin said to Beast Boy, who looked up at him with a nose full of dusty cement mix.

There was a clatter behind the pair, causing Beast Boy to jump and Robin to pull his bo staff out and whirl around. They stared into the darkness as a shadowy figure approached and revealed herself under the large red flashing sign.

Beast Boy shifted back to normal and hid a little behind Robin. Robin stepped forward and lowered his bo staff as he stared at him. His eyes widened as he dropped the bo staff.

“Raven?” Robin asked, watching his former friend step out into the light.

“RAVEN!” Beast Boy called out launching himself at her and hugging her to his body, “I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE HERE!”

Raven stood there in mild shock as she felt his arms wrap around her. Robin came up after Beast Boy and nudged him away from her, staring into her eyes as if searching for some answers.

“What do you want?” He asked, sounding a little cold and distant.

Raven held out her hand and showed a small glimmering disc the size of a walnut. “The location of every HIVE member known.” She said quietly, handing him the disc.

Robin looked down at it then back up, “You aren’t hurt are you? They’re treating you right?” He asked, sounding a little protective now.

Raven nodded and gave him a small smile, as Beast Boy jumped up and pointed at her, “You’re a member of the HIVE?” He shouted and asked at the same time, “What!? What?!”

Robin shushed Beast Boy and grabbed Raven’s hand, pulling her to the side, “You know you can tell me right. If they’re doing anything to you.”

“Nothing that I can’t handle.” Raven said softly, resting a hand on his chest, “Thank you for caring.”

Robin leaned in and whispered into Raven’s ear, “Where can I meet you?” He asked, leaning back to stare into her eyes.

“Clock tower. One hour.” She said pulling from him and disappearing into the shadows.

Robin held onto the disc and turned to Beast Boy, who looked a little crushed. “Let’s get back to the Tower. I’ll explain everything there.”

The Clock Tower struck 3 AM but made no noise as it was being rebuilt after a confrontation with Cinderblock a few weeks back. Raven stood near some metal beams and stared over the city, her hands ringing her cloak as she heard a shuffle in the background. She twirled around quickly and watched Robin drop from a higher beam and look at her.

Both approached one another, meeting in the middle. It happened like a flash. Robin leaned in and pulled Raven to him, pressing his lips against hers hard. Robin smirked and kissed her again, not wanting to leave her as he slowly stepped back. Raven watched as Robin smiled at her and jumped off the side of the building. She heard the familiar sound of his grappling hook firing and crossed her arms.

“Go what you wanted?” Raven asked coldly as someone from the shadows came out.

“More than you know.” Jinx said, holding a video camera up and smiling.

Kyd Wykkyd appeared just behind her, looking somewhat hurt. He approached Raven with an outstretched hand, wanting to touch her. Raven swung around and glared at him before walking away, pushing past him.

He raced after her and stood in front with his hands outstretched, making her stop. Kyd Wykkyd grabbed her hand and moved it to his heart, letting her feel it beat. Raven’s hardened feature softened somewhat, causing her to blush as he pulled her in for a hug.

“Is it really for the best?” She asked him, knowing he didn’t want to answer but merely nodded quietly.

Raven buried her face into his chest, trying not to cry. She held onto him tightly, just as Jinx giggled.

“Who knew Robin the bird brain was hung. I gotta get myself some. Raven, how long have you been fucking him? And what’s up with Beast Boy? Oh, I get it you get around don’t you? I wonder if you ever had…”

A fist came flying out of nowhere, causing Jinx to topple back onto her bottom. She looked up at Raven loomed over her, her eyes flashing red. “Say NOTHING.” Raven said, her voice deep and eerie.

Jinx whimpered and nodded as Raven turned and stalked away. Kyd Wykkyd shrugged at Jinx and followed after Raven, grabbing her hand before they disappeared.
