Chapter 8: Earth Shatter

A/N greetings fellow fan fic readers. It has been awhile. I think it is once again time to add a little something to this story I started six years ago, enjoy the ride.

I do not own Teen Titans, or else Terra would be naked.

All of the Titans stood there with a shocked expression. Well, with the exception of Blackfire, who was a bit more confused than shocked. Starfire was the first to recover from the stupor and rushed over to Terra and hugged her tightly.

“Oh, Terra! How nice it is to see you again! We all thought that we lost you for good!” Starfire said, with tears in her eyes.

“It’s nice to see you too, Starfire, and everyone else. But please stop hugging me before you crush me to death.” Terra said in minor bone-crushing agony.

Starfire immediately let go, knowing that she has a habit of nearly crushing her friends in hugs.

“We tried everything we could to cure you from your petrified state, Terra. But we could not come up with an antidote after months of research. In fact, we were still working on it.” Cyborg said.

“Yeah, we tried almost everything possible. That is why I am very curious how you managed to come here now. Care to enlighten us, Terra? Robin spoke up.

Terra smiled. She was very pleased and appreciated that they put forth all of that effort to try to help her, and that it would seem that they have indeed forgiven her for all of her past crimes while working as Slade’s apprentice.

“Well, I am not really sure myself. One night I just awoke… I was in the cave I was in before I… was petrified. Then suddenly I was awake, just standing there. It was as if no time had passed at all. I was expecting Slade to be right behind me.”

“I think I know what happened.” Raven chimed in.

“You do?” Everyone else blurted out at once, including Terra herself.

“Well, it is just a theory. But I think that it may have been possible that when my father, Trigon came to this dimension and turned everybody to stone, it may have also affected Terra. So when we defeated Trigon, all of his demonic magic wore off, restoring everybody to their normal state, including Terra. His magic was incredibly powerful and would have over written Terra’s Petrification.” Raven Explained.
“Works for me.” Robin said.
Everybody seemed to agree that Raven’s theory made logical sense, or they just agreed because they could not contemplate a better reason why Terra was here, fully restored to her previous self in front of them.

Beast boy was still speechless and just standing there quietly, which was a pretty odd occurrence for this green shape shifter. Beast boy did not really know what to think. Terra was the first girl who actually showed him love. Sure, he loved Raven first but he never imagined that anything would actually happen between the two of them. But now, he and Raven have been dating and having sexual relations, and now his thought-was-dead girlfriend pops out of the blue. This was just too much for this Beast boy to handle.

The rest of that day was filled with happiness and celebration. Terra spent most of the time catching up with the Titans. She was told of the crazy story of Raven’s crazy demonic father coming from another dimension to enslave the earth. She was told the tale of the Teen Titans visit to Tokyo to fight a giant tentacle monster that may have done some things with Raven and Starfire that they weren’t really willing to talk about. She was also told about the Brotherhood of Evil and all of the allies they gained.

Terra was also interested in learning that Starfire had a sister and how they looked so much alike. She feared that Blackfire may also enjoy giving out bone-crunching hugs. But she soon learned that although the two sisters look the same, they are quite the opposite.

Terra began to wonder where Beast boy had gone off to. She noticed that the two of them had only sneaked glances at each other since she arrived and that literally no words have been said between them.

The celebration was over at last and the tower was a mess from party decorations and pieces of left over party food. But the Titans figured that it would clean itself and went off to bed, informing Terra that her old room was still as she had left it.

But this geokinetic girl was not quite ready to go to bed just yet, she had some loose ends to tie up.

Terra quietly made her way down the dark corridors of the Titans Tower, heading for Beast boy’s room. On the way she passed Starfire’s room and heard odd sounds coming from the door. There just so happened to be quite a large crack in the door. Curiosity got the best of the blonde girl and she took a small peek inside.

Terra was definitely not expecting this! What she was witnessing made her blush and a small wet stain begin to form on her underwear. After getting sidetracked, Terra was finally beginning to make some progress toward Beast boy’s room. The halls of Titans Tower were a lot longer than they needed to be. Now she was passing Cyborg’s room. Just as she was about to pass it she started to hear grunting sounds.

“Doesn’t anyone close their door all the way in this place?” Terra thought to herself.

Terra gulped and took a peek inside the room of Cyborg. It turned out he was just lifting weights. About two tons to be exact.

Terra backed out of the doorway and continued on her quest to finally reach Beast boy’s room. After taking a few wrong turns and somehow ending back up in the living room, she finally made it to Beast boy’s room. She also noticed the room across the hall, which she remembered was her own room. She could tell it was hers from that crazy rocket ship wallpaper that was in there for some reason.

Terra slowly approached Beast boy’s door, noticing that it was most likely the only door in this tower that was all the way shut. She hesitated for awhile, just standing in front of Beast boy’s door for what seemed like an eternity. Eventually she worked up the courage to knock on the door.

“Who’s there?” Beast boy said, his voice being barely audible due to the closed door.

“It’s me.” Terra said softly.

There was about a twenty second wait for Beast boy’s response.

“The door is open.” Terra heard Beast boy say. Or maybe it was her imagination.

Terra decided to believe that it was not her imagination and slid the door open. Beast boy’s room had green walls with posters of various animals on them. She could see one of a cheetah and one of a dinosaur and a few dozen others she did not care to really examine. Beast boy was lying on his bed, staring up at the white ceiling.

“I thought you might want to talk, seeing as how we did not get a chance at the party.” Terra said.

“Why would you think that?” Beast boy replied snidely.

Terra was slightly taken aback by this kind of reply.

“Maybe because we have not seen each other in months and the fact that I was pretty much dead during that time?” Terra replied snidely back.

Beast boy turned from his back to his side, facing the wall opposite of the door so that he could not see Terra out of the corner of his eye any longer.

“You betrayed us! I loved you and you betrayed ME! You tried to have me and all of my friends killed!” Beast boy yelled.

“I’m sorry.” Terra said while looking at the floor.

“That’s it? You think you can just come back here and pretend like nothing ever happened? You think you can just pretend like you did not try to kill me and my friends!?” Beast boy yelled once more.

“It seems to be working for Starfire’s sister.” Terra dully replied.

“You got me there.” Beast boy said, this time not yelling.

Beast boy started laughing at that fact and Terra joined in. Terra moved to the side of Beast boy’s bed and sat on the corner of it. They continued to laugh for what seemed like an hour.

“I’m sorry.” Terra said once again, Tears starting to form in her blue eyes.

“It’s okay. I just needed to get that off my chest for awhile now. Please, don’t be sad anymore. I forgive you. I am sure you had your reasons after all. In the end you came through for us, and saved all of our lives.” Beast boy said.

“You may all forgive me, but I do not forgive myself. I don’t think I ever can. I was such a stupid little child thinking that Slade could help me control my power. I should have asked you guys for help all along.” Terra said with tears in her eyes, now freely running down her cheek and dripping onto her lap.

“We all make mistakes. Please don’t worry so much about the past. I am sure that Robin will make you an official Teen Titan tomorrow. You have a bright future ahead of you.” Beast boy explained.

Terra was very happy and felt like the world has been lifted off her shoulders. She was afraid that Beast boy would never forgive him since her actions may have affected him the most. Terra wanted to hug him, to kiss him, and to just hold him in her arms. But she knew that tonight was not the time for that.

After they talked for about an hour, they both decided that it was time to go to bed. No, not in the same room of course. Beast boy and Terra told each other goodnight and Terra left for her room across the hall.

Terra flicked on the light switch in her dark room. She could tell that it had been kept in good shape and seemed to have been just recently cleaned. It was as if everyone knew she was coming back soon. She could even smell the freshness of the sheets. Terra opened her window for a breath taking view of Jump City. She could see pretty much the whole town from here. Terra turned off her bedroom lights and let the lights of the city illuminate the room instead.
