By the time I was 13, My parents had been finally able to save enough money so that  I could have braces.

God it made me look even worse. I never smiled much because of the braces, but would be very  thrilled when I had straight teeth.

I carried a tooth brush and toothpaste at all times. I never ate soft loaf bread because it was sure to stick in the braces. 'God',  I would lament, 'you must really hate me'.

  The  only dates I had High School was in my senior year with Dilton Doiley, the school genius. I stood 6 ft 1 and he was five foot 6. After the movie, Jeff said he didn't want the evening to end and invited me to go to

I had never been asked to go there. Life couldn't be better.

We drove there in his little Toyota and was having a great conversation about the movies.
