Frail(VI)

The low lighting made it difficult for the Amazon to see her way through the cave. She knew one thing she was heading away from the scratching sounds of the sorceress’s wings slamming against the granite walls.
She heard her name being called and then laughter shortly after. Diana stumbled over something fleshy and wet.
She looked down to see the cave floor littered with human bodies. She covered her mouth and nose as the smell began surround her. She was standing in the center of Alerra’s meals.
“Beautiful aren’t they?’
Diana backed as the winged sorceress came towards her.
“They won’t be as good as you my Amazon. Once I have your soul I will be whole forever.”
Diana carefully stepped over an exposed leg to put distance between her and the witch.
“You are insane that’s why they imprisoned you.”
“They were jealous of my power.” She screamed and came closer. “You will see Amazon when I have your soul or perhaps you wish to see it for yourself and join me. We could rule this world together.”
Diana willed herself to stop moving and allow the creature closer.
Alerra approached her. “What I am offering you is a gift. You could live and so would I. You could have any man you wished.”
Diana looked up at the witch. “I would live.”
“Yes you would live that is all that matters.”
Dana closed her eyes as Alerra began licking her neck. “The blood will seal us together forever.”
One hand grabbed the Amazon’s thick black hair and pulled her head back to expose her neck. The other hand gripping her waist and pulling her closer.
Diana squeezed her eyelids tighter together as her breathing became deeper. Alerra bared her fangs and moved closer to the pulsating vein full of the Amazon’s life liquid.
She was knocked to the ground by the blow from the weapon the Amazon wielded.
Diana threw the arm away and ran from the fallen witch.
Alerra roared with anger. She opened her wing and flipped some of the bodies into the air knocking Diana from her feet.
She chanted some words and the green bonds that had held Diana before returned and pinned the Amazon to the ground.
Alerra smiled and crawled towards her slowly.
“Are we chickening out of the deal?”
“I will never be with you.”
Alerra chuckled as she touched her thigh. “I’ve already made the decision for you my Amazon.” She licked the inside of Diana’s thigh.
Diana began screaming.
A rustling of a cape made the witch turn in time to see the fist but not to stop it.
The power from the Bat knocked her through the cave wall.
Bruce ripped off the bonds and placed the sheet over Diana.
The smoke and rock fragments from the hole that Alerra had made began to fill the room.
Diana moved behind Bruce as Alerra slowly stood and looked at the hole.
“You have her power.”

“What’s going on here?” Flash said as they landed outside the museum which was full of who’s who in Gotham.
“ It’s a dedication ceremony.” Superman said scanning the crowd for Lois. She was on assignment.
Shayera looked around for Batman.
“Let ‘s split up but stay out of sight.” Superman said walking away having spotted Lois.

Alerra ran at Bruce claws bared. Bruce avoided the claws and slammed the side of her forearm into the back of her neck.
Alerra screamed and went down to the floor.
Her wing flew up and caught him under his chin and knocked him from his feet.
“Bruce!” Diana screamed.
Alerra jumped on top of him and tried to pierce him again with her tail.
Bruce brought his legs up and shoved her upwards she went through the cave ceiling and through the floor of the Museum.
There was screaming from some of the guests as the blond haired sorceress slowly picked herself out of the rubble from the floor.
Alerra stood and spat up blood. She needed a life force and now.
She scanned the crowd and spotted one.
Lois gasped as the winged creature flew towards her at top speed.
“Nooo” Superman jumped in front of her and Alerra pierced his skin and disappeared within the man of steel.
Batman leaped up the hole carrying Diana.
“Supes you okay.” Flash asked from a safe distance.
Lois tried to touch him.
“Get away from him.” Bruce said to her.
Alerra struggled to free herself from the krytonian but could not.
Superman looked up to see Diana beside Bruce.
< Let me out.>
< No>
Alerra looked from inside to see the Amazon.
< You want her no one can stop you>
The man of steel moved so fast no one not even Flash had time to react. He threw Batman through the wall and used his heat ray to destroy the poles in the Museum and the ceiling began to falter.
He grabbed Diana and flew away.
Gl surrounded everyone with a shield and transported them out.
Jonn looked over Batman.
“Diana?” He asked grimacing and holding his chest.
“He took and I can not sense him anywhere.

“Kal listen to me you are stronger than she is.”
He held her tighter as they flew to a building Diana did not recognize. Alerra chuckled.
“You would think so Amazon. But he wants you so he will help me.”
Superman placed her somewhere deep in his mind.
Alerra fought him but to no avail.
< How can you do this>
< You will not touch Diana.>
< What >
Superman smiled. “I will.”
Alerra laughed. He maybe stronger than the Batman but his mind was easier to penetrate it was clean and not full of horrors and regrets.
< Yes you will >
