a/n: The chapter, infact the story was so much better in my head. Disappointed.

Opening Music

Betty looked at the floor with a lump in her throat. Reggie moved closer, a very slim layer of air between them. Her heart beat hard, so hard that she was afraid he might hear it.  She was constantly avoiding an eye contact and it left him perturbed. He noticed the lights reflecting off her blonde tresses. He felt strange being in close proximity to her, strange good. He wanted to close the modest gap amid them.

She inhaled deeply and looked up. He had his eyes on her. That moment something changed around him.  He felt like he was losing all rational thoughts. He has an annoying, fluttery feeling in the pit of his stomach.

Betty felt exposed. Her palms got all sweaty and she wanted to pull away to avoid getting the sweat on his hand.

She begins to move away...

Tonight we dance, I leave my life in your hands

He pulls her back, her back presses against him. Her hand still held in his which he moves along her abdomen. She inhales sharply and he feels her muscles tensing under his touch. The fluttery feeling refuses to go.

She tries to leave again..

We take the floor, nothing is forbidden anymore

He turns her around and draws her back. They were now facing each other, bodies pressing firmly this time. Her hair brushed his cheek and her hand was around his neck.  His hand that held hers was twisted around her lower back.

He used the other to move her bangs behind her ear and he looks at her, in the eye. Her breathing is erratic

Don’t let the world in outside, don’t let a moment go by

As his left foot moved forward, her right foot automatically moved back. Then, the right.  He was leading, by the shoulders. Their steps were automatically in sync.

His fingers faintly grazed her jaw line. His touch sent shivers down her spine. Like each and every electron in her body was under the influence of an external field.

Nothing can stop us tonight

He spins her, his eyes never leave her.

Bailamos, let the rhythm take you over, Bailamos

Te quiero amor mio, Bailamos

Gonna live this night forever, Bailamos

Te quiero amor mio, te quiero

He holds both her hands and moves back, their arms stretched. Then turns her and pulls her back, their arms crossing in front, under her chest.  Her delicious smelling hair are all towards a side and he gets a view of her neckline. The bridge of his nose accidentally touches it and she feels the hair at the site rising in alarm. She has a hot sensation in her lower belly.

Tonight am yours, we can make it happen I’m so sure

He turns her around, their backs at an angle. He stretches out his leg (the other bent), rests her head on his shoulder (with his hand securely around her head) and they go down and move up. Their eyes never wander.

Now I’m letting go, there’s something I think you should know

Still in the same posture, their bodies sway sideways.

I won’t be leaving your side, we’re gonna dance through the night

Her hand still in hers, they rhythmically move apart, arms taut, looking at each other and almost instantaneously drives her closer.

I wanna reach for the stars

And he lifts her, his hand around her lower back. She places her hands on his shoulders and she looks up, her eyes shut. He gradually moves her down. Their eyes are now locked. Her body inches down his. They stand there, paralysed and lost. He’s still holding her around her back and her arms are around his neck.

Their faces are perilously close. He further tilts his head and as if on cue, Betty closed her eyes. Her soft, full lips parted.

Her gloss smelled like grapes. He felt intoxicated and involuntarily closed his eyes too. Their noses almost touched and she felt his breath of his upper lip.

Music Changes, closing chorus

Betty opened her eyes and swiftly moved away, stunned at herself. She apprehensively glances around. Everyone’s still dancing. She runs out, leaving Reggie there, standing alone, unable to move or speak.
