Chapter 5

Tentative

Gar laid there with Raven’s head laid next to his shoulder as his heartbeat soothed her mind and worry when a knock on his door startled him causing him to jump somehow avoiding to wake Raven in the process.

“Gar get up now or I am coming in,” warned Robin in a threatening tone. “Ever believe in privacy.” Responded Gar with a smile as he watched the woman he love sleep. Soon Gar got up into a pair of boxers before Robin could punch in the master code for the tower.

“What do you want,” said Gar opening the door slightly so Robin can see his eyes “do you know where Raven is?” asked Robin while trying to look over the green man’s shoulders. “Why do you want to insult her some more.” Snarled Gar as he watched the color in his face start to drain. “She told me everything, and I don’t like the words that flew out of your mouth.” “Look whatever she said can be explained.” Robin said as he saw the look in Gar’s eyes “fine I will be down in a half hour.” Said Gar “fine,” said Robin as he left the hallway.

Gar closed the door and looked at Raven as her eyes opened and shock swept her. “Why am I here” she asked the Changeling with concern. “Where did you expected to be.” Asked Gar looking into her eyes and seeing worry “it’s that I thought was a dream,” said Raven as she looked at the teen “to me it was.” Said Gar with a smile as he put on his pants, “and I wouldn’t want to wake up from it.”

Raven smile at him as she put on her cloak and phased to her room. Then in a second the look changed from happiness to fear. Although it was one of life simple emotions it ruins lives and this fear frightened her it was the fear of being pregnant. Raven did not fear of raising the kid nor feared of giving birth, her fear was of her father and the control that he might control her child to do things against its will. Raven sighed as she put on her leotard and boots and belt and headed to the main.

Robin waited for Gar to arrive so he could try to explain to the green man without pissing him off his side of the story he the felt the healing bruise that the green man have left him Reminding that the changeling could snap at any given time. He waited and thought of what Raven might have said so a plan came to trick the green man in telling him little and hearing all.

Gar walked into the main room where Robin sat looked at him; Gar walked to him and gave him a dark look. “Ok, explain to me you side of the story.” Said Gar as he sat down, “first, promise me not to kill me or hurt me,” said Robin sitting there when the Changeling laugh then nod in acceptance of the terms of the deal.

Raven walked in and noticed Robin and Gar Talking feeling there emotion she left them alone so she could deal with her problem that she might have. She sighed as she got her tea when Cy talked to her “what’s wrong.” He asked as he looked at her as he could tell something was wrong “nothing” said Raven as emotionless as she could “don’t bullshit me Rae.” Said Cy as he looked at the teen as a big brother would then guessed “its BB right.” She nodded while looking at the youth,

“what did he do?” asked Cyborg trying to understand “nothing really,” said Raven as her kettle boiled “it just something I need to sort out” “ok,” sighed Cyborg in defeat as he realized that she would not talk about, or at lease not now.

“Bastard, I can’t believe you would lie to me like that.” “I never lied.” Said Robin while trying to keep his composer “you drugged me liar.” said Gar looking at the teen “how would you know,” said Robin “all you got is a story That Raven said and she was pissed off at me.”

Gar thought about what he said in his mind he believed her and yet she was mad at the titan leader. Gar rubbed his temples to relieve the stress building up in his mind “did you know what my mom did for a living.” Mumbled Gar barely about hearing “what,” asked Robin “she was a Biologist and studied the flowers in her spare time when we were in Africa.” Said Gar as he sighed believing the next words “when did you live in Africa,” said Robin as he tapped his fingers on the table. “a long time ago.” Said Gar as he stood up, “we’re done talking,”

Raven watch the conversation and what happened next Robin reached to stop him. “aren’t you going to apologize.” Requested Robin making it sound more like a demand then a request, “excuse me,” Said Gar as he contemplated what to do next. “an apology,” said Robin “it’s what people do when they are sorry.” “I would if I felt sorry,” said Gar “apologize or leave the team.” Snapped Robin mostly bluffing and hoping that Gar wouldn’t call it,

Gar Sighed and reached into his pocket and picked up his communicator and weighed the decision as he looked at Raven he could leave but that would break her and his heart he looked and smiled “I’m sorry about yesterday.” Said Gar as he left the room wondering about the stuff that the leader said as he tried to sort out the truth of the manner,

“I need to clear my head” thought the green man as he paced through the halls to his room “I can’t seem to trust anymore, both of them never lied Robin might be lying the so can Raven. They both done it before but had good reason.” Gar opened up his room and gathered his clothes “I need to go home for awhile,” thought Gar then an idea hit him ask Raven to come with him.

As this was going on Raven was making her way to Gar’s room dealing with a problem of her own. She looked at his door and knocked Gar opened up and Raven noticed the Bag “I thought you decided to stay on the team “I did.” Said Gar as his picked up the bag I just need clear my mind, and I just want to know if you want to come with me.” “Where though,” she asked “I was thinking of showing you where I grew up,” said Gar while looking down at his feet. He then wiped a tear from his eyes making Raven worry about her friend, “what’s wrong.” She asked seeing the pain in his eyes, “nothing,” said Gar “well?”

Raven thought about this if they leave things will change between them not that things already have. But it would give them time alone between them, and yet what if she returns it would break her heart to know that she never waited for. “Gar,” said Raven as she looked into his Green eyes she sighed then told him her choice.

A/N: If you’re wondering why I have decided to post this as a cliff hanger think about it Raven might be pregnant plus the other lover that she had might come back who it is I don’t know yet. Logical guess would be Starfire but I haven’t really made my choice yet.
