Robin stayed in the infirmary for the next few days, his condition worsening day by day. Cyborg said he was lucky she went to visit him in time and that it was probably some sort of excitement or strain that made him sick so fast.
Raven slowly backed away from the room, running into Starfire who pushed past, rushing to Robin. She instantly held onto his hand and was crying softly.
“Raven?” Beast Boy asked turning around finding that she was missing.
Raven ran down the streets coming back to the dead end where Slade and her met first.
“SLADE!” She called between sobs, looking into the shadows. “I know you’re there!”
Slade walked out laughing a little, “I’ve been watching you carefully, now do you believe me?”
“Yes.” She said sadly, covering her hands with her cloak.
Slade moved towards her, grabbing onto her shoulder and pulling her to him.
“You know what I want right?”
She nodded slowly and gasped as something sharp stung her in the back of her neck, she felt dizzy and everything went black.
When she woke she was lying on a bed inside a dark room. She sat up holding onto her head groaning. She heard arguing in the room, one was Slade’s voice…the other was some one else.
“It was a deal.” The other voice said.
“I changed my mind.”
“What do you plan on doing with her then?”
“I can think of…many things.”
Raven felt a chill crawl up her spine and she looked around trying to find some glimmer of light. A bright light shone above the bed and she had to cover her eyes. The light stung her eyes, making her blind for a few moments.
Slade walked up to her, kneeling down and tilting her head up towards him.
“You’re willing to give me anything for Robin?” He double checked, she nodded.
He pushed her against the bed, his hand holding onto her throat making her choke. Raven held onto his hand, her eyes watering. She couldn’t see her but she knew he was smiling underneath…
“Your death will be a good enough price for the formula.”
“Whaa…” She choked out, a few tears trickling down her cheeks.
Slade pushed harder, her face was losing what color it had. She was close to passing out when she felt the pain and pressure lift from her. She coughed and held onto her throat, close to puking.
She opened her eyes slowly, seeing Slade on the floor. Standing above him was none other than Red X. He held a needle in his hand, it was empty. Red X watched Slade for a moment before looking at her.
Raven attempted to move from the bed, but found it hard, trying to breath and get rid of a pounding headache. Red X dropped the needle and moved towards her. Picking her up by her arms.
“YOU!” She shouted hoarsely struggling against him.
“Slade went back on our arrangement…It was only fair.” He replied, pulling Raven in close to him.
She leaned against his chest, trying to push away. There was a prick and she screamed, her sight vanishing.
She woke up next to Robin in the infirmary. Cyborg and the rest of the Titans huddled around her bed. She squinted a little, shooting up from her bed.
“Robin!” She shouted, turning to him. He was sitting up in bed, his color back in his face. He looked at her and she at him.
“What happened?” She asked, feeling her head.
“Strangest thing…” Beast Boy said turning to the corner of the room.
Red X was leaning against the wall, his arm crossed.
“I brought you back.” He replied pulling himself from the wall and walking over to her.
“But…Slade….you…”
“I may be a thief but I’m not a murderer.” He said, looking at her and then the rest of the Titans.
Robin looked at him, “Thank you…for bringing her back…and…”
“Saving your life? Yeah I know. I’m pretty fucking awesome when I can be.”
He shrugged and turned to leave, stopping at the door way and looking at Raven before leaving.
Robin and Raven were left to rest, she couldn’t help but stare at him.
“Robin…I tried to get to Slade to…”
“I know.” He said quietly. “I remember everything…what we did…everything.”
She tucked some hair away and looked down, “Does it change anything?”
“Raven…what happened between us…never should have happened.”
Raven nodded slowly and looked at her hands, they were shaking.
“I’m sorry for…everything.” She replied, “I knew something was wrong and…”
“It wasn’t all you. I wanted to and I didn’t stop myself.”
“Was it all a mistake?” She asked, a hint of hope in her tone.
“Yes.” He replied looking away. “I’m staying with Starfire. I’m sorry.”
Raven nodded again, after all she always was going to be alone. She leaned back into bed and rolled onto her back, ignoring Robin’s soft calls of her name.

A few days later she was up and about walking down the halls. She stopped at her door when she noticed Red X standing across from it, his arms crossed. He tilted his head towards her and pushed himself off the wall.
Raven narrowed her eyes and continued to her room, intent of ignoring him.
“I thought you’d be long gone by now.” She answered honestly.
“I thought so too.” He replied, following her inside her room.
She turned around and crossed her arms, looking up at him.
“Why were you and Slade…you know.” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Slade had a great deal of Zinthonium and I wanted it. I gave him the serum for Robin, knowing how he’d be watching like a hawk, giving me the chance to get what I want.”
He answered honestly at least, she thought. “And where did I come into play?”
“Well see, that’s where it went wrong. I thought Robin’s desires relied in the alien, not the witch.” He said, touching a bit of her hair. She pulled away from him, glaring.
“I came to look at the goods he promised me, a nice supply of Zinthonium and he backed out. Obviously I had to get even…”
“You saved me.”
“Yes and no.”
She looked up at him, raising an eyebrow.
“I took what I wanted from him and you were just a last minute decision. I don’t do team work anyways.”
Raven nodded and felt his gloved hands wrap around her arms pulling her closer.
“Besides, I find you rather attractive.”
She looked up at him, feeling his hand roam down her back.
“Anyways.” He said pulling back from her and turning to her door, “It was nice getting a lay of the tower…never know when I might be back.”
Raven watched as he reached her door and left. She bit he lip and quickly darted out after him, grabbing his arm. He turned around and she pecked him on the cheek.
“Thank you…” She whispered, his hang gripping hers.
“No problem…Maybe if you aren’t…”
“X!” Robin yelled coming down the hallway. “I want my suit back!”
“Sorry Rob…finders keepers.” He pressed the button on his belt and disappeared.
Robin growled as he looked at Raven. “Were you holding hands with him?”
“No.”
“Looked like it.”
“Jealous?”
“Raven you know what I mean…He’s…”
“A hero.”
“If this is about my decision to stay with Star.”
“No. I’ve given up the idea of us…”
“Raven, if it were any other way.”
Raven looked at him with a frown, “I liked you better when you were dying. You cared.”
She turned to move past him but he held his arm out stopping her and moving her against the wall.
“You know I care about you.”
“Then why Starfire?”
“It’s only the right thing.”
“Because I’m not peppy or pretty…”
“You’re beautiful.”
Raven was on the verge of tears, “Why her why!”
“She’s…I love her.”
“You didn’t love her when we were together.”
“We weren’t together, Raven. Not ever. It was just something that happened and it was a mistake. I take responsibility for everything, just forget it.”
“I don’t want to forget it!”
“Raven…”
“I just wanted you to love me.” She whispered, looking away.
He grabbed her hands and pulled them to his lips, kissing them lightly.
“I desired you most because I couldn’t love you…not in that way. You’ll always be…”
“Don’t say it…Don’t you dare say it!”
She pushed him back and walked down the hall, the walls shaking in her wake. Robin rubbed his chest looking at her.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered.
Starfire walked cheerfully down the hall.
“Oh Robin!” She called holding onto his arm and kissing him lightly.
“Hey Star.”
“I wish to show you something.”
“What?”
“It involves the sex!”
Robin blushed as she pulled him along into her room, shutting it tightly behind him.
Raven would get over it, he thought, waiting for Starfire, she always got over things like that…didn’t she?
