Chapter 3 - Edeyo

Raph looks from the TV to Leo, Leonardo was laid up in bed, Raph noticed his breathing was calmer and that he wasn't so shaken, Raph thought to himself, 'what happened..' but he soon fell asleep and as he did, Leo soon saw a memory in his dream

Leo found himself standing in a temple, but the temple was old and appeared to be ancient, he saw a lot of silk lining the walls.

He hesitate to move he wondered where he was and how he got here. suddenly Leo saw a figure move in the shadows."who.....who's there." The voice though didn't even sound like a voice, it was a rasp of hisses and chatter as suddenly a villager or at least, leo thought it looked like a villager sprang out to attack leo, but as leo froze he heard, "Catch!" and for some reason Leo did. A ceremonial knife seen and leo looks at the blade and as if on instincts alone he turned and slashed at the horrid zombie and the thing scream in pain backing off, and soon scamper away.

Leo stood there in shock he could believe what he just saw it was a person but not it looked more like a creature a very deformed creature. looked up at the other being and saw that it looked like a person but he couldn't be sure. Suddenly a figure in a large straw hat that was in Leos other dreams walks to him, soon noticed the dragon face on the figures arm. Leo hesitate to say anything but finally spoke up
"who are you what’s going on here?"

The figure held up a hand, "please, I am not a enemy, I will not harm you" leo saw the hand was of a turtle.

Leo says "your like me but how?"

The figure then lifted his head and took off his hat and standing there was a leo look-alike.
Leo gasped "your me!"

The look-alike nods, "Hai, My name is Haruko, your ancestor, and perhaps you in a past life"
"my past life?" said Leo blinking
Haruko nods, "do you believe in reincarnations?"
Leo nodded " I believe in that all beings even humans will be reborn into another once they past ....that’s the way of Buddha the way I was taught by my father."

Haruko nods, "My father too taught me this, hear me I do not have much time, I need your help"
"my help?"

Haruko nods again, "many years ago, this temple was my home, I and 3 other of my brothers lived here with our sensi, and he taught us the way of Buddha...I came back only to find my home gone, and my brothers dead, but an evil lurks here and I fear I failed to free my brother"
Leo looked around then lock eyes with haruko " my god at the temple I saw this place and 3 turtles that looked like my brothers dead on the floor."

Haruko nods, "they are....were my brothers, they were to protect the temple while I was gone training to be a head priest.." suddenly the tune of Japanese taiko drums and the dark aroa of children are heard, Haruko shakes his head, "damn it!"

"what?" asked Leo

"I am afraid we will be cut short, Give me your arm!" Haruko grabs Leos arm.
"wha .....what are you doing?" said Leo as he watched the look alike.
Haruko did not answer, he held a limp piece of paper between his fingers as he chanted a spell, the paper becoming erect glowing a blue glow.

Leo watched him his eyes widening wondering what he was about to do "what are you going to do ?" he managed to ask but Haruko didn't answer, he only says
"Edeyo, guard him well!" as his own arm with the wild dragon design glows vanishing into the paper and Haruko stuck the paper to s arm a burning sensation coming over leo.

Leo cried out a bit the pain spread threw out his whole arm. when haruko was done he removed the paper and there on his arm was the same dragon deign on his arm.
Haruko looks around suddenly as Leo looks too, surrounding them was 3 figures, one figure spoke,
"come Haruko, it is time to come home"
"yes brother" said another dead tone voice
Haruko shook his head, "You 3 are not my brothers!"

Leo quickly drew the knife that haruko had given him before "what are they? who are they?"

"They are the dead" started Haruko "that is now alive, something more evil is not letting my brothers rest in piece"

Soon a bolt of lightning flash and walking out of the shadows were the same turtles that say in his dream, but this time, they were slashed up, 2 of the 3 figures were missing an eye as one in a dark red kimono held an eye of the dead and one that was still human. Leo cringed a bit at the sight of the 3 brothers. he knew he was either not going to get out of this alive or he would have to fight them and kill them again "so what now?" Haruko didn't answer, instead he knocked Leo out causing him to wake up.

Leo was sweating hard his body shaking as he sat up in bed, his breaths came rapidly and his heart was raising. Raph woke up, "shit leo!" he moves over next to his brothers side and lightly touched his arm, but Raph then looks at Leos arm and blinks "woah when did you get this?"

Leo blinks and looked at the tattoo on his arm then locked eyes with Raph
" I.......well.....its hard to explain."

Raph groans some but then looks at what was in Leos hand, "... and where did you get that?" in Leos hand was an old map, and a small booklet. Leo's eyes quickly moved to the bed he was sleeping on confusion filled his mind "I .......I’m not sure."

Raph says putting his hand on Leos shoulder, "ok ok, calm down. first explain the tattoo"

"it was a dream I had this dream" started Leo " about being in this old temple and standing before me was myself or my past self his name is Haruko he put this on me."

Raph nods, part of him thought this was some joke, but at this point, the worried and confused look on leo was making this thought false, Raph says, "Here let me see the book"

Leo nodded as he handed it to Raph, he sat there watching him read it over. "This isn't the first time I saw Haruko. I have been having dreams of him and his brothers for some time and when we went to the temple more dreams..no memories of my past came back"

Raph nods as he looks through the book muttering the titles "Illness, Brothers dead, silk worms" one of those words struck Leos curiosity.

"brothers dead?"

Raph begin to read what was in the book,

" My heart weeps, My three brothers, Saburo, Shiro and Jiro are dead, their faces showing fear and pain, but Jiros face showed something else.. why did I not stay? What happened here? the village the temple is in is also as dead as my brothers, something has happened and blood has splattered on the village grounds as does the temple grounds "

Leo then realized something, "That’s what I seen, I saw them on the ground dead this is haruko's diary."

Raph nods, "looks like it, lets see the folded piece of paper"
Leo handed it to Raph

As raph opened the paper it was a map, says "woah this is freaky" he lightly pointed to a spot on the paper, "this is the temple we were in , looks like there is a path that leads to somewhere"

"that’s why I got the visions when we got on the temple grounds."

nods "things are starting to make sense.." he looks at the map "looks like this leads to some town or something"

"it must be the village that once stood when haruko was alive."

says "well...you said we were going to get an adventure , and we appear about to have one"

put his hand on s shoulder " he told me he needed my help!"

blinks "he did?"

" yes he told me that his brothers were murdered and that there spirts will never rest because there was a great evil presence there .....raph I saw them."
Raph eyes widen some "woah, I take it they didn't look all that well"

Leo looks down rubbing his arms some, he was shaking " no they weren't they were horribly disfigured they wanted haruko to join them .'

Raph put his hands on Leos shoulder "woah leo take it easy, I haven't seen ya this shaken before"

Leo shook his head, he had a few tears fallen from his eyes as he said
"I have to help haruko ...I have to help him to let his brothers sprits rest."
Raph frowns some, so much for a simple vacation he nods, "ok then, but ya not going alone"

Leo looks up and let a weak smile form over his face "thanks bro ..I just wish I knew what we have to do!"

Raph says, "maybe the map and journal are our clues, what was that saying Donny had "clues revealing the Past"? or something nerd stuff like that"

"its actually 'clues can be the windows to our past' " corrected Leo

Raph waved his hand "yeah that’s what I was trying to say, look" he holds the map pointing to the temple where leo and them were at before leo blacked out, "if this is the start of the path, maybe" he moves his finger along a tree pathway "if we follow this, maybe this will take us to the village this Haruko dude once lived in"

Leo nods "yeah ...well he actually lived in the temple he was a preist along with his brothers but he left to train to become a head preist and when he went to return he found his brothers dead."

Raph says, "yeah but...maybe the temple we were at has some answers, I know I saw a freaked out priest when he saw ya turtleness"

Leo roll his eyes "Well so much for low profile here." he let out a low giggle at the thought that was soon fallowed by a harder laughed when he pictured the priest in the temple freaking out. Raph smirks,
"lets try finding him. he spoke English muttering about reincarnation"

Leo nods "then that’s our next move then." he paused for a min, then laid his head on Rah's shoulder " Oh god Rah I didn't mean to drag you and the others into this." he was crying a bit more. Rah smiles weakly, that was leo for you, caring about others before himself , "if what a said was true, then Hayrack needs help, but I ain't going to let one of my bros go alone, you are going to need help" he got leo to look at him and puts a hand on Leos shoulder saying, "..and were brothers, were suppose to look out for one another, its what family does"

Leo nodded and hugged him. he let his eyes close the tears still coming down hard out of his eyes. Rah froze some and blinks but he said nothing on it as he hugged saying, "its alright man, its going to be ok" Leo looked at Rah for a min then he remembered the diary,

"what else dose Haruko say in the dairy maybe something in there can give us another clue."

Raph shrugs some handing the diary to him "here you look it up, maybe Haruko will kick up another memory. I got to talk to Mike and Donny on this" Leo nods as he took the diary and nodded. Leo watched as Rah left then once he was gone Leo opened the dairy again and read from it. Soon he came across a page that made him stop, there was a symbol on the page that got his attention. Curious at the symbol for a moment then slowly he placed his hand over it.

A personal memory rushed into Leos mind then...

In the garden where the Silk worms were Jiro watched, a small paper in hand, he keeps re-reading the letter,
He knew Hayrack wanted to talk to him, but about what?
"why couldn't he just tell me infront of the others?"
"because I wanted to know how you would react.." and Jiao looks to see his brother,
"Brother you scared me"

Haruko laughs some, "sorry"
Jiro nods as he says " its alright, now why did you want to see me alone?"
"Because..." started Haruko "well..."

" Haruko ? something wrong brother?" The turtle looks to see Jiro walking over to him and puts a hand on Harukos shoulder.
Haruko felt his face heat up at the touch as Jiro asked again but Haruko unsurely but quickly leans in and kisses Jiro mouth to mouth as Jiao gasps in the kiss but soon the two closed their eyes the kiss seeming to increase but Haruko broke the kiss off,

"H- Haruko ?" panted Jiao slightly
"I..I-I can't..this is not right" said Haruko as Jiro blinks but nods giving Haruko and him some distance as Haruko went to the temple to pray.

Leo woke up from the vision he quickly looked at himself in the near by mirror and saw that he was blushing hard from what he saw. 'what is the feeling I’m having' he wondered.
Just then Raph walks in, "hey Leo " quickly Leo turned away trying to hide his blushing from Raph after a few mins he finally said "yeah Raph?"

Raph blinks but says, "I talked with Donny and Mike, Don agrees we should head to the temple and find the priest" Leo nods,
"alright give me a min ok?"
Raph nods "Sure, we'll be down in the lobby" and soon Raph left to meet with the others.
Leo sat back on the bed for a moment, he thought 'what was that..' when he could feel his face returning back to normal. It wasn't long and Leo went outthe door and met up with his brothers.

At the temple the old man was walking with a lamp shinning it on a pathway as he looks to the side, and then turns heading to go back inside the temple. Leo jumped down infront of the mans path and he cries out " Ah! Master Haruko ! Please don't hurt me!" Raph and the others jumped down behind the old priest.

Leo tried to hush the man down "shhhhh its ok I’m not Haruko well sort of."

The old man looks saying, "then WHO are you?"
Raph shakes his head, "would you believe were ghosts?"
The priest hit with his staff saying, "show some respect to the elderly" Raph groans some,
"alright alright I'm sorry"

Leo held back a small laugh "My name is Leonardo and these are my brothers, were from amereica and well I am Haruko sort of ... Haruko is my past self."

The man looks stunned, "his reincarnation...quickly come inside, come to the room with the statue" the man walked with the turtles inside and into the room where saw the statue of Haruko . The elder looks at , "what do you wish to know? that is why you are here trying to scare me out of my wits!"

Leo showed him his arm " just recently I got this mark and before that I have been reseiving dreams or visions and when I came here the first time I saw more."

The man studies the arm and nods, "ahh yes. Edeyo, the temple guardian, resides in this arm"
"edeyo?"
Mike says " you read about him to us remember?"

Leo nods "yes he was the guardian of all the temples it was said that no danger would be fall those who were in the temple grounds."

"that was said yes" said the man, "the mark of edeyo was only given to those that became head priests, you see, I know of Hayrack, because my great great gandfather, he was one of Harukos students, and I know of his tale here in the temple"

"tell us please!"
Donny jumps some suprised at Leos pleading tone, "woah Leo calm down"
"I have to know maybe something he can tell us will give us a clue to what needs to be done to help Haruko ."

The man says, "what is said is true, Haruko did come here, he was only a mere student in this temple, the head priest in that time was a elder man, strict and challenged him to the extent of his limit, when he became a head priest, he fell in love with a women"

"woah really?" said Mike "why do I have a feeling this is going to be like out of a chick flick?"
The man nods, "yes and Master Haruko and this women fell in love, until they Haruko became disturbed with a letter he received from his brothers"

"her name was...." started the priest as leo looked at the priest "Miyo" they both said at the same time, Leo blinks "how did I know that?"

Donny was looking in Harukos journal and says, "looks like a right" he points to a page in the booklet "her name was Miyo, she was a few years younger then Haruko "

The Priest nods, "she was a student here at the temple"
Raph says, "you said there was a letter that Haruko got that made his uneasy"
"please continue." said Leo

The man nods, "yes the letter Master Haruko received mention of a sickness, He left this temple down the same path you 4 found me on, Miyo, such a beautiful women, she went after him after an hour he left, she loved him dearly"

"God that must be the sickness that was mentioned in the dairy." he paused for a sec then continued his words"do you have a picture of miyo?"

The priest nods and walks to the base of the Haruko statue, he bows respectively and kneels removing the heading off of the statues base and pulled out a letter and what was a picture. The priest hands them to leo, as Leo opened the picture he gasped.
"Well leo?" asked Donny
"Its.......its Yumi"

Raph,Mikey and Donnie hurries behind leo and Rah gasp, "woah it is"
"Miyo is my Yumi reborn" said Leo

The priest looks down in thought and says, "After she left, her and Master Haruko never came back, are you planning to go find this village?"

"yes and any kind of clues that might help Haruko's brothers rest finally" said Leo.
The man looks down and says, "All I know is what’s in the letter, I am afraid all I can offer you is a torch to light your way, and show you the path master Haruko and Miyo went"

Leo bows to the priest "Thank you what you have told us more then we knew before and I will be in your debt." The priest shook his head, "bah you owe nothing to this old man"

Leo smiled he continued to think about what he told them and what he saw. the images racing threw his mind, Rah looks at Leo with some worry...

Soon Leo and his brothers stood on the pathway the old man showed them and he handed leo an oil lamp, the man says, "I do not know the way, but if Master Haruko is you, then he will show you the way my friends"

Leo bowed again "thank you for all Your help." the man bows back and says,
"you are welcome, now go and help Master Haruko " Leo nodded and they left, the old man standing there in the dark as he says,

"Please Edeyo, protect your master well..and help these 4 brothers now..." and soon the priest vanished, a light gray scarf seen on the ground in the night.
