The airport terminal was busier than Endora expected. She had thought tourist season was over but it seems she was mistaken. She was anxious to see Margrette, it had been 8 years since they had last seen each other face to face. It was surprising indeed just how quickly those years had passed. She checked the monitors of incoming flights and found Margrette's. It appeared to be on time. Endora was an hour early, Margrette already had enough on her mind without her being late getting to the airport. Poor Sabrina, she just had to pull through, the thought of having her best friend crushed by such a loss ran sent shivers through down her spine. There was a coffeehouse nearby so she got in line and got herself a cup to relax till the flight arrived.
She watched the hustle and bustle of traveler's coming and going. Some weary, some just looking glad they were on the ground again. The time passed quickly and eventually she proceeded to the where Margrette was to arrive. The gates opened and people poured through, all different types but she didn't see Margrette. After a few moments the crowd died down, but still no sign of her long time friend. Endora thought it shouldn't have been that easy to miss an almost six foot tall skunk. The last time she had seen Margrette she had gained a bit of weight on that tall frame of hers but it had suited her. She had always been a walking stick, the extra weight filled her in a little. Her skunk pattern was a bit unusual as well for she was far more white than black. Margrette was white from the waist up and black from the waist down. She scanned the passengers and finally thought she saw her at a different gate.
She saw a tall skunk, and assumed it had to be her. Then she saw the body on the woman and almost ruled her out. This woman was built, not only in the chest department but in her whole body. She looked as if she could run a marathon twice without breathing hard. She called out to the woman and her head turned in Endora’s direction. The woman immediately recognized who was calling her and her face turned to one of joy. Confirming to Endora she had found her friend at long last. It also seemed that she had a story to tell.
"Margrette is that you? I hardly recognize you." Endora said to her life long friend. The tall skunk put her arms around her best friend and gave her a good long hug. "It's me Endora, just a little different than the last time you saw me."
Endora could hardly take her eyes off her friend, "You look absolutely fabulous." And she wasn't kidding, she could stop a truck with that body; heck with those looks she would stop a lot of traffic.
"Well it took four years for me to look this way but I think it paid off. Don't you think?" Margrette turned around for her friend showing off her fit frame.
"It sure did." She just couldn't take her eyes off her. She was a totally different person. She decided to change the subject, she would find out later about her friends transformation. How was your flight?"
"A bit bumpy but none the worse for wear. Any change in Sabrina's condition?"
She knew that question was coming, actually she thought it might be her first one. "No change since I saw her this morning Margrette but her doctors say the other injuries are healing very well."
"Well at least she hasn't gotten any worse." She said in a breathless tone.
Endora suddenly clued in and saw that Margrette was carrying what looked like baggage for ten.
"Margrette! How many bags did you bring?" She exclaimed. "Let me help you with those."
"Endora those are heavy!" She warned but it was too late.
THUD! Down went the bag and it almost took Endora with it.
"Margrette what's in this bag? It weighs a ton."
"A lot of things, maybe I should take that one." She looked at her friend and was pleased to see that she really hadn't changed that much. A little heavier but not a whole lot, in fact if she were thinner it wouldn't have been Endora. "I have three more coming off the plane and I think we'll need a trolley."
"Holy smokes Margrette it looks like you came prepared."
"Well, I think I'm going to be here for awhile." Endora didn't like the way that sounded but knowing full well that it could be entirely true. Sabrina's condition could get worse and then there was Franks Aunt's things to deal with as well.
They found a trolley and loaded some of Margrette's bags. Then they found the luggage ramps and watched for the others. It didn't take long and they were off to the parking lot and the car.
The car was a long ways off, "damn airports" Endora thought. "Margrette I'm sorry about Franks Aunt, she was a nice woman from those nights we had her over for dinner."
"I'll bet you saw more of her than I did. As I told you on the phone she's was from Frank's side of the family and was a distant relative. I really didn't know her all that well. We were what was left of her family and I guess our responsibility. Frank said he would see what he could do to help me sort things out here. He's praying she has some sort of a will." She didn't like putting her friend in this spot but she had always been honest with her.
"Endora I'm going to say this now for I may lose it. I didn't need this right now, things are not going well at home and this just takes the cake so to speak." She sighed.
Endora knew just coming here was a stressful situation and that she did have other things going on in her life.
"Margrette I'm your friend, we've always been friends and we always will be, no matter what happens. We'll get through this, you'll see." Endora could see that her friend was on the verge of tears. She stopped the trolley and moved close to her.
"You know that I will be with you always at your side, remember." She put up her hand and tucked in her pinky finger.
Margrette put her hand to her mouth. "You still remember."
"Of course." Endora smiled.
Margrette put her hand up to Endora's and tucked her pinky finger in as well.
"Friends forever." They said in unison. It was then Margrette broke into tears and Endora embraced her life long friend for what seemed an eternity.
They got out of the airport without too much trouble. Endora was so curious about Margrette's transformation that she had to ask.
"So Oreo when did you get into the fitness craze."
Margrette let out a laugh that almost scared Endora. "Oh my I haven't heard that nickname in so long. Have we been apart that long." She sighed and knew they had. " It's an interesting story Endy." She returned the favor and Endora smiled. "And a big part of my problems."
Endora grinned back at her friend. "Yeah, I bet you have to fight off all the guys with that body."
"And the girls." Margrette said with sarcasm.
Endora gave Margrette a strange look and she only nodded back.
"Really! Oh boy that's something that's never happened to me."
"Me either and it unnerved me. Now you see the tip of the iceberg I'm floating on. Anyway I'll get to those soon enough but to answer your question. It was about five years ago I decided to go to the gym. Actually I didn't really choose to go I was forced."
"Forced? How can you be forced to go to a gym?"
"Well, it all started when our sex life became non existent. I was willing on many occasions but Frank didn't seem to be all that eager. So one night we had it out." She sighed remembering that night and really not wanting to go back there. "Frank was honest with me and it was partially my fault. I had gotten into a rut and really let myself go. You remember Frank?" Endora nodded and a picture of a very fit man came to mind. "Well he still looks like that, he jogs and lifts weights. Me, I lifted cheese puffs to my mouth. It was my fault and he told me honestly that he didn't find me sexually attractive anymore."
"He didn't say that!" Endora said in disbelief.
"Yup, straight out. Endy he's a good man and has never strayed. I know that for sure, he's had the chances. I've seen how the women look at him but he didn't roam. He still loves me, but he wanted me to feel better about myself. So he said he would enroll me in the local gym if I promised to try. He said I could quit at anytime I wanted, it was to be my decision. So I decided to try for him and myself."
That really didn't sound like being forced but ... “So that was five years ago."
"Yup and you see the result, I'm a walking powerhouse of muscle which Frank hates."
"What!" Endora couldn't believe what she was hearing. "He hates what you look like."?"
"Oh no! He loves the way I look but he hates the way others look at me. Endy I turn heads everywhere I go, bars, restaurants everywhere. Frank hates it, he's extremely jealous. Which I didn't know he was until I became this." She made a gesture with her hands to point out her body. "He's started a few fights over me. In many ways I'm flattered but it's driven a stake between us and it's been driven in deep. Then there's Kathren." This last sentence was said with a very heavy voice.
"Who's that?" Endora said with great curiosity.
"My personal trainer and someone who's deeply in love with me."
Endora almost crashed the car. "WHAT!" She exclaimed.
"It's a long story Endy one you'll hear but not now. It's been a long trip so far and to talk about that will make it even longer."
"I guess I can understand that. OK, OK, subject dropped." She knew better not to push.
This time Margrette changed the subject, "So how is your daughter doing, last time I heard she was dating a young raccoon."
"Oh that's over with, she broke up with him a year ago. That was an interesting time, now she's dating a young fox.
He's really nice, I hope this one lasts, I don't know if I can go through another breakup. I'm not sure who got the worst of it me or her."
"Well it's nice to hear she has someone; and Tabitha?"
"She's a little terror sometimes but she keeps me on my toes."
"Mine too, lets keep them apart for awhile yet."
"I agree I'd like to keep my sanity intact."
Margrette laughed and it was a pleasant sound to hear. It was good to have her here even though it sounds like it caused a lot of problems.
Sabrina stayed for most of the afternoon drawing a few sketches. She wished she had brought her laptop today as she had work to do. However doing the sketches had given her time to relax, it had been awhile since she had done just that. They were mostly of her sister resting peacefully and she liked the way they turned out. She would show them to her when she woke up. It was only a question of time.
She drifted off for a time until she heard someone clearing their throat and give her a poke to get her attention.
"Ahem," Said a lovely young Vixen.
"Tammy! What a surprise, it's nice to see you." Sabrina said as she gave her friend a hug.
"I called Amy and she said you were here. So I decided to come on over, I also brought someone else." She said with a wide grin.
Behind her shoulder a head popped out from the doorway, it was the head of a young male fox.
"Chris!" Sabrina exclaimed. She jumped up and gave him a big hug and a very big kiss.
"Hi beautiful."
"When did you get back in?"
"Today! I heard all your messages but they didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense. I tried calling but I got busy signals and no answers. So I tried your friends and I got Tammy who was gracious enough to meet me halfway to allow me a little rest."
She turned to the beautiful vixen. "Tammy I don't know what to say, thanks, I owe you a whole bunch."
"I'm gonna collect on that." She winked. "Wow, she really does look like you." Tammy said as she saw the female skunk lying in the bed. Sabrina had told Tammy about her twin but it really didn't sink in until now.
Chris looked at the figure in the bed. His heart jumped, it was as if he was looking at the love of his life all bandaged up and hurt. It didn't make him feel good inside. "She's just like you. "How is she doing?"
"Yes, we are very much alike and she's getting better. I hope we'll all be able to get out and celebrate soon."
"That's good to hear, I still can't believe it." Chris just stared at the figure and was glad that it wasn't his bride to be. But on the other hand he was saddened to see Sabrina's sister in such a way. "What do the doctors have to say?"
"It's a waiting game Chris, her body is healing fine; it's her mind that needs the most repair."
He took Sabrina in his arms and gave her a hug and light kiss. "Then let's pray for her to come back to us unharmed."
Sabrina sighed. "I've been doing that a lot lately."
"You're gonna have to tell me about how you met her, it seems I've been out of touch a little too long." Chris said with some guilt in his voice.
"Don't I know it!" She gave him a poke. "Almost three weeks without a word, thank goodness I had Sabrina to hang around with." She stared at her boy friend and was glad he was back, she had a lot to tell him. "You're not going to believe the story I have to tell you Chris."
"I can imagine." He said and he gave her another hug. The fact that she was back in his arms overcame his feeling of exhaustion. It was a good day, any day with her, was a good day. Now if only her sister would wake up, he would feel much better.
Tammy and Chris listened to the tale of the meeting. Tammy had heard the story before but Sabrina was good at telling stories so she wasn't bored.
"Sabrina, your Mom and Dad are something else. I'll tell you that not many people would do what they did for a friend." Chris was utterly amazed at the kindness of Sabrina's parents.
"That's my Parents, they're the greatest."
"You should tell the paper, it would be a good news article." Tammy put in.
"Yeah for the National Inquisitor, they'd twist the whole thing around and make it the most gruesome thing under the sun. Making my mom and Sabrina's mom the joke of the town. No way; it's a private matter between friends and family."
"I see your point, but it still is a cool story."
They were interrupted by a couple of nurses, they wanted to change Sabrina's sheets. They all thought it might be a good time to head back to the apartment for awhile. Her Mother should be home now with her friend and would probably be coming by here soon anyway. She gave her sister a kiss and a small prayer and headed for the apartment.
Endora pulled into the driveway and parked the car. "We'll head over to the hospital as soon as you're unpacked." Endora said.
"Endy I didn't think I was going to stay with you. This is putting you in a very awkward position."
"Nonsense, you have to get your Franks Aunts' place emptied not live in it. So you'll stay here while you do that."
"But, Endy…"
"No buts, get your stuff or I'll drag it in myself." She made emphasis on drag and that got Margrette moving.
It took some time to get the bags out and into the house. Endora had a couple of extra rooms so she put Margrette in Sabrina's old room. It would be nice to have someone else living here again she thought. She missed having the house full. Although with Tabitha it was like living with three extra people.
Endora again turned her concerns to her friend, she had always been in trouble and it seemed to follow her wherever she went. Her parents were abusive to each other and occasionally to her as well. When she finally left home she thought of herself as free but it didn't last for very long. She found herself not coping with real life very well. So she bailed and found someone who would take care of her. His name was Frank.
Frank wasn't attractive or imaginative but he was kind. He also had quite a bit of money. So Margrette married him, not for love but as a safety net. In time they grew to care for each other but Endora wasn't completely sure even today if they were truly in love with one another. It almost ended the day she found out she couldn't have a baby, ever. In the days that followed it was an emotional downward slide for Margrette. Endora could still remember the telephone calls. Those calls stopped soon after Endora gave them the news that they could have the fertilized egg.
It was a big surprise Frank wasn't upset that he would not be the biological father. He was just happy in the news that he would be a dad. He was so grateful that he pulled many strings to get Warren a job down here. In many ways it had worked miracles on both sides. Every year after the birth Margrette sent a cheque to her, she tried to talk her out of it but she wouldn't have it. She said it was only a small part of what she owed her and to put it to a useful purpose. In the years to follow the money had indeed come in handy.
Now disaster was back and with a vengeance, Sabrina in the hospital, Frank's Aunt dead, marriage problems and a lover of the same sex. She thought her life was not a cup a tea but in comparison she wouldn't trade it for the world.
Endora thought it would be a good thing to give Sabrina's apartment a ring. She got Amy who seemed totally out of breath.
"Amy are you all right?" She asked, concerned.
"I'm fine, it's just that the phone has rung several times today and I haven't been in a position to get it. If you understand what I mean."
"I understand fully." Being pregnant can put you in some awkward situations.
"We're going to have to buy another cordless phone, ours died a couple of days ago." She sighed.
"Sorry to get you up dear. I was just calling to see if Sabrina checked in."
"She could have Mrs. Mustelidae but as I said I haven't been able to get to the phone in time."
"That's OK dear, no problem, if you see her tell her that my friend Margrette arrived safe and we are heading over to the hospital."
"Sure thing."
"Oh, Sabrina did remember to tell you about supper tonight, right?"
"Yes she did, thank you for having us over. I can't wait to meet Sabrina's mother."
"Yes we haven't all been together for quite awhile. We will see you around Six Thirty to or Seven."
"Sounds good, I'll let Sabrina know."
"Good, take care Amy." She hung up the phone and sat at the kitchen table waiting for Margrette.
As she sat there she thought again about how Margrette looked and was surprised to find herself wishing that she looked somewhat like her. She guessed it was every girl's fantasy to be a model. Well Margrette was the model of fitness that was for sure. It wasn't long before Margrette came down and into the kitchen. She had been here before and knew her way around.
"Ready to go, Oreo?" Endora said.
Margrette had to laugh at that name, it fit her but it was a kid's game they played when they were small. "Yes let's go see my baby Endy."
At a studio not too far away known as Double ZZ there was a knock at the owner's door.
"Come in." Said Zig Zag the proprietor of the studio. She was a cross breed between a tiger and a skunk. She was also something exotic to look at. She had appeared in many a film and had a huge following of fans. She was just going over her email on the computer. Her little excursion to Vegas had taken her out of the studio for too long. Zig Zag's door opened and a lovely young rabbit stuck her head in the door.
"Mail call. Where do you want the bag?" She said.
"Just put it over there in the corner Angel." Replied Zig Zag.
"Okay you got a lot this week, this weighs a ton."
"The last video we did sold very well. I'm not too surprised either, ever since Sabrina has been doing the covers sales have sky rocketed. Hey, have you seen Sabrina around I have a computer disk of hers and I want to give it back."
"Oh damn, didn't Tina tell you."
"Tell me what?" Zig was curious to what she had missed these few weeks she had been away.
"Sabrina won't be in for awhile, her sister is in the hospital. Drat that reminds me that I should go and stop by. I've been piled up in paper work so long I had almost forgotten about her."
"Tabitha's in the hospital, oh the poor girl. She's so cute, I wish I had known, maybe I could run down there now." She said to Angel.
A imaginary light bulb went on over Angels head. "Can you hold off for a few minutes I think I can get a quick collection done up so you could get her a stuffed animal or something."
"Sounds good, will an hour be long enough."
"Sure Zig, I'll be back in a flash."
What a nice girl. Angel was always thinking of others. She of course could have paid for the gifts no problem but she wanted the others to feel like they were contributing. An hour went by quickly and Angel showed up with a wad of cash. She had done marvelously well for the little time she had. Seems Sabrina was more popular than she thought. Zig called the number that Sabrina had said she could be reached at, Amy answered the phone again in a breathless tone.
"Hello Amy speaking." Amy decided Thomas was definitely going to get that phone tonight on the way to dinner.
"Hello my name is Zig Zag, I'm Sabrina's employer. I was wondering if she was about."
"Sorry Miss Zig Zag she's visiting her sister in the hospital."
"Yes, I just heard about that, I wanted to send a get well flower basket to her sister but I don't know the hospital she is staying in."
"She is at County General, room 806."
"Thank you for the information Mrs. Amy, please give my best to Sabrina."
"Will do Miss Zig Zag, goodbye."
Zig Zag hung up the phone, put things in order and went out to get a gift for poor Tabitha. Sabrina had introduced her once, she was such a cutie. She bet she would almost look like Sabrina when she was older. Sabrina had become part of the family so to speakand her sister would be treated as such. A few stuffed animals should cheer up anyone. As she strolled down the hall she got stares with all the stuffed animals in hand, but that wasn't the only reason.
She kept peering at the numbers on the doors. "Let's see 801, 2, 3, 4, 5 and six." She voiced to herself. She turned into the room and found it was an open ward. Funny she thought Sabrina's relatives all fell under her health policy for a private room. She was going to have a word with her insurance agent right away. She looked at each of the men and women in the beds but she didn't see the small child Tabitha. It also became obviously apparent to her that this wasn't a children's ward either. Then she saw Sabrina and dropped everything she had. "Sabrina? Oh my God, NO!!!!!" She said silently to herself. Her mind began racing as she rushed to her friends' side. Why didn't they tell me, why??? She stared at the limp body of Sabrina and almost cried. Why didn't her roommate tell me she was in the hospital and not Tabitha? Maybe they didn't want me to worry about her. She was trying to make sense of this but nothing really was. It didn't matter now she was going to move heaven and earth to get her the best care possible.
"It's OK Sabrina I'm here." She whispered. "I'm going to make sure you get the best care. There has been a big mistake and I'm going to get it corrected immediately. You just rest and get yourself better."
She took Sabrina's hand and squeezed it very gently. Something horrible happened to her and she was going to find out what! She stared at her at her shy, innocent, employee and wondered, why her? It wasn't fair, how in the world could this have happened?
To Endora it was obvious that traveling with Margrette was going to be an experience. She had never seen so many heads turn. Men just stared and she knew it wasn't at her, although it would have been nice. Endora knew the way to Sabrina's room but at the nurse’s station she saw what she thought was Sabrina's boss. Sabrina's description of her was quite detailed and this skunk matched it to a T. As she neared her suspicions were confirmed.
"What do you mean the coverage is correct? I filled that policy out myself, Sabrina is to have a private room!"
She was angry and her voice echoed through the halls. It seemed that intervention was needed, thought Endora. "Margrette hold here a moment." She went over to the female Skunk and tapped her on the shoulder.
"Just hold your horses and wait your turn!" Zig Zag said in a harsh tone.
"Miss Zig Zag I believe, I'm Sabrina's mother she works for you."
Zig Zag wanted to crawl under a rock at that moment. She turned around to face Sabrina's mother, it was one of the few times she actually blushed. "Mrs. Mustelidae I'm terribly sorry for speaking to you that way. Please excuse me."
Sabrina was right, she was beautiful. "No harm done. What seems to be the problem? I thought I heard Sabrina's name being mentioned."
"Sabrina's friend Amy didn't tell me it was Sabrina who was in the hospital. Her coverage allows her to have a private room; which I have been trying to tell this nurse when you came along. She also has her name wrong. She insists that her last name is Johnston." Zig wanted to get this straightened out as soon as possible. "Sabrina deserves the best treatment possible Mrs. Mustelidae."
Endora sighed, it seems Sabrina had neglected to fill her in on a few things. "It would seem that you haven't been told everything and it has caused some confusion here. I will have a little chat with Sabrina when I see her. Let me help fill in some of the details you are missing, but first I would like you to meet someone." She took Zig Zag down the hall a bit to where Margrette was standing. "Zig Zag this,” and she emphasized this, “is Sabrina's mother, Margrette."
Zig Zag was now totally confused but soon was filled in as they went back to Sabrina's hospital room.
"This is incredible!" Zig exclaimed. "Sabrina has an identical twin sister, wow. I think I know why she didn't tell my secretary the whole truth."
"Well again I'm going to have a talk with her, it caused you a lot of trouble and emotional stress. She should have told the truth."
"I brought some stuffed animals from the people at work, I think they will work anyway, they seem to have that type of effect on the sick."
"It was a very generous of your people to help out. Tell them it was very much appreciated." Endora was not pleased with Sabrina’s behavior, this wasn't like her. She definitely was going to have a little mother daughter chat with that girl.
Margrette saw her little girl all bandaged up, she looked so helpless. Her injuries and bruising could be seen through her white fur. She was so still that she didn't look alive, she felt so helpless. She began to cry and as hard as she tried she couldn't stop.
Endora tried to console her. "She's going to be fine Margrette the doctors have said that the bruising and the arm are all healing nicely. It's just a waiting game now."
"She looks so still, she doesn't look alive."
"I know but she is strong, just like my girl." She took Margrette's hand and gave it a squeeze and gave her a reassuring look.
Zig Zag now knew the whole story and even though this wasn't the Sabrina she knew, it was her sister and she too deserved the best of treatment. "Mrs. Mustelidae, Mrs. Johnston if you'll excuse me a moment I have a little something to clear up."
Endora was pretty sure she knew what Zig Zag was up to. "Certainly, you know where we'll be." Endora watched as this strange looking but provocative skunk went out the door and down the hall. She was truly an interesting character, she was going to have to ask Sabrina more about her.
Endora settled herself knowing that they would be here for awhile and it was truly understandable. Margrette needed some time with her daughter. In awhile Zig Zag returned with some interesting news.
"Mrs. Johnston if you will allow me I would like your daughter to have her own room compliments of my firm."
Margrette didn't know what to say, she knew it was costing enough just to have Sabrina in this ward. "That's very generous of you Miss Zig Zag but the cost, it could be very expensive and I don't want to put that burden upon you."
"Don't worry about that Mrs. Johnston, I consider this matter settled. Let's get Sabrina here into her own room shall we." She smiled, and thought it was moments like these she lived for. Sabrina's sister was going to get the care she needed if she had to pull every string she had out there.
Sabrina stepped into the apartment with Chris and Tammy right behind. "Hello, Amy, I'm back and I have guests."
She wanted to be sure that Amy heard and was decent. She had caught Amy a couple of times without clothes on. She said it helped her ease her stress. Sabrina was fine with that but she thought she might forget and well make a good situation into an embarrassing one.
Amy appeared and saw Sabrina's friends. "Tammy, Chris it's wonderful to see you." She then turned her attention to Sabrina. "How's your sister doing?"
"No change Amy, thanks for asking. Did mom call?"
"Yeah and so did your boss."
A strange look came over Sabrina. "Oh! What did she want?"
Amy didn't understand the change in Sabrina's composure. "She wanted to know what hospital your sister was in. You did tell her about Sabrina right?" It was an obvious question.
"Well kinda." Sabrina really wanted out of this conversation and now.
"Kinda? What did you tell her?" Amy said not liking where this was heading.
"It's what I didn't tell her that's going to get me into trouble I think. I really didn't speak to her at all, I just told Tina at the desk that my sister was in the hospital. Nothing about her being my twin or anything like that."
"SABRINA! That wasn't very nice! I'll bet she thinks Tabitha is in the hospital."
Amy said in a bit of an angry voice. This really didn’t make things any better.
"I just said she was in for a couple of days for observation, it got me some time off and I hoped she wouldn’t go prying around any hospital. Amy... she loves to poke into everything I do. I thought this would be a good excuse."
Amy could see Sabrina was uncomfortable with the fact that she had been caught in a lie. She also understood about her boss. Zig Zag was very intimidating and she did love to poke into other people's lives. Which Sabrina hated being questioned and asked about everything she did. "Well I think you'd best get on the phone and explain."
"I will."
"Don't forget the supper tonight. Your mother wanted me to remind you."
Sabrina slapped her forehead. "Oh-boy I completely forgot about that!"
"I guessed that so I covered for you."
"Thanks." Sabrina was forgetting her friends who had sat down and started a casual conversation. "Sorry guys I completely forgot about you."
"S'ok Sabrina we understand it's been a busy day." Said Chris.
"That's an understatement. I'm going to call Zig Zag and tell her the truth; excuse me for a few moments."
"Sure Kitten you get things squared away." Chris was glad to be back, he had missed Sabrina and today turned out to be a big day. Learning that Sabrina had a twin sister was a shocker. He just wished she wasn't hurt, poor Kitten, he wished he could help more.
Amy got coffee and cookies out with some help from Tammy. Sabrina returned after a little while looking a little bummed out.
"Kitten is there something wrong?" Chris said concerned.
"No I just didn't get any answers. Amy did mom say anything to you?"
"Only that her friend had arrived safely and they were heading for the hospital. Oh, and to reminded us of the dinner."
"Well that's good to hear, Mom was nervous, she hasn't seen her friend in eight years."
"That's a long time." Tammy said. "People can change a lot in that time."
"Mom said Margrette was not much for change and had always been a bit shy." Sabrina said as she sat down beside Chris.
"Well Sabrina turned out great, I can't wait to meet her mom." Said Amy.
"You'll like Sabrina Chris, we have a lot in common, besides looks." Said Sabrina in a more cheerful voice, she snuggled up close to him trying to forget about the trouble she was in.
"I'll just bet you do." He said with a grin.
Oh no it's not over yet! Oh God how much am I going to have to read!
