After an interesting afternoon into late evening of gay metaphors shot in Kid Flash’s direction between video games and scary movies, the Titans were all fast asleep at 6:00 A.M. All of course, except for Raven. She always liked to get up early before the pointless arguments over video games and loud music did and meditate on the tower roof. And this day was no different.
Raven made her usual stop to the common room quietly before venturing to the top of the tower as usual to get a cup of herbal tea. She scarcely made a noise as she gathered her cup and teapot so a sudden snore from the direction of the couch nearly made her jump out of her skin. Her wide violet eyes locked onto the face of Kid Flash. Drool hung from his open mouth as another loud snore vibrated from his sinuses. Raven heaved a sigh and poured her tea.
“Have enough for a second cup?” The voice of a half-awakened Kid Flash barely reached Raven’s ear drums. She looked up and saw the fastest man alive sitting up rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
“You, like herbal tea?” she asked slightly surprised. She never thought of Kid Flash as an herbal tea type, more coffee than anything else.
“Herbal tea is great for energy, which helps me build up and maintain my speed in the morning faster and for a longer period of time,” he explained as he approached Raven watching the steamy liquid pour into a second mug. He took it up into his hands and nodded. “Thanks. And coffee tastes funny, just for the record,” he added with a wink. Raven couldn’t help but smirk a bit.
“Enjoy the tea. I’m going to the roof,” Raven said coolly as she turned her back and headed for the double sliding doors.
“Mind if I go with you? I love watching the sunrise. It’s one of the two times a day I actually like to slow down,” Kid Flash explained as he followed Raven.
“When’s the second time?” Raven couldn’t help but ask.
“Sunset”. The two traveled up by elevator in silence. Raven was glad Kid Flash didn’t feel a need to disturb the quiet. That’s the exact reason she refuses to allow Beast Boy to tag along with her. He’s great company during the normal hours of the day, but early morning he’s far too loud and obnoxious to bring for her hour of AM meditation.
When the elevator doors opened, a small bit of light had started to stretch up from over the bay water. Raven took her normal seat at the edge of the tower facing the soon-to-be sunrise. Kid Flash came up next to her.
The woman sorceress began to float in midair and quote her famous words in meditation. Kid Flash looked on for a moment in awe.
((Wish I could do that,)) he thought, the corner of his mouth curling up in an amused smirk. He affixed his blue eyes on the horizon and awaited the coming of dawn as he sipped his tea.
After some time had passed, Raven couldn’t concentrate anymore. She had always pigeon-holed Kid Flash into the same place as Beast Boy. Loud, always on the move and forever talking. It was maddening to realize that he wasn’t talking.
“No words? No random chit-chat? Nothing?” the violet-haired maiden asked with one opened eye. Kid Flash looked at her, the look of calmness softening his expressions.
“I figured you come up here to get away from everyone else for a bit and to relax, so I figured me talking would mess that all up,” the Kid explained. Raven levitated down onto the edge of the roof letting her legs hang loosely over the side of the tower. Her hands dropped into her lap.
“Didn’t think you’d understand. Guess you’re just full of surprises,” Raven thought aloud.
“Look! Here comes the sunrise!” Kid Flash said excited. He smiled as he watched the orange orb rise over the water. The rays bathed the deep blue and climbed slowly up the island and eventually made it’s way to the two young adults on top of the tower. The warmth was welcoming.
“The beginning of a new day is always exciting,” Kid Flash announced, breathing in the sea breeze.

At that same moment, with the Brotherhood of Evil…
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“Yes, Kid Flash, the new day IS exciting,” The Brain answered his will-be victim from the safety of his lair. The nanotechnology had been accompanied by a microscopic probe that had been developed in secret and had finally been completed. It’s job was to transmit information from particular parts of the brain. In the case of the Brotherhood, they programmed the probe to attach to the where information from the eyes meets the brain. With the probe in place, they could see what the speedy hero could. Another probe helped them listen in.
“With the probes in place, we will be able to accurately choose a ‘setting’ for the Titans that will be appropriate for the moment to rip them apart,” The Brain announced much like a chemistry teacher. Matter-of-factly.
“With your permission, Master, I would like to choose how to ruin the Kid Flash’s day,” the Russian Rouge begged. She had been itching to destroy the Kid since he was of kid age. The Brain granted permission to Rouge.
“I’ve been waiting to torment you from the day I met you, Flash. Time to test drive the nanomachines. Prepare to be a serious thorn in the most dangerous and brutal of the Titans,” Rouge teased menacingly as she adjusted a knob on the computer’s console by Kid Flash’s name, a smiley face icon appeared next to his profile picture on the screen.

Back at Titan’s Tower…..
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“Gggaaahhh,” Kid Flash suddenly collapsed from a pain in his head. The mug of herbal tea smashed into numerous tiny pieces and the liquid splashed everywhere.
“Kid Flash! What’s wrong!?” Raven questioned sincerely concerned for her new comrade. His hands gripped at his cranium and his teeth gritted harshly. The pain was unbearable, but as quickly as it came, it disappeared.
“Absolutely nothing’s wrong, Rae! I’m feeling awesome!” Kid Flash spurted with undeniable happiness and joy. Raven cocked a confused eyebrow.
“Weren’t you just in pain?”
“That’s over now! It’s in the past! Remember, new day! So exciting! We should totally do something fun today, Rae!” Kid Flash squealed. His lips were peeled back in a painful-looking smile. It was almost revolting to Raven. She started to back away slowly.
“I’m good. I think I’m going to go back downsta-”
“Don’t leave! We could do so much fun stuff up here!” Kid Flash squeaked as he started to run around Raven at high speeds, kicking up dust and dirt from the concrete roofing. Raven shielded her eyes from the debris.
“Kid Flash, stop running around me. It’s annoying,” she seriously warned.
“Why?! It’s so much fun!” Kid Flash whined excitedly. Raven had had enough. Her eyes glowed and black aura hugged at her hands. She raised her hands and made a solid wall of blackness in Kid Flash’s trail. The young hero bashed into it hard, sending him crashing to the ground.
A flicker of pain shot through Kid Flash’s body. Not only from the force field wall, but the same pain as before, only not as intense. He grabbed at his nose which was throbbing in pain.
“That’s why,” Raven replied to his earlier animated query. She stomped back towards the elevator. Without turning back to Kid Flash, she spoke to him. “I was wrong about you. You’re just as loud and obnoxious as I thought you’d be. I thought you’d be different,” she growled as the elevator doors closed.
Kid Flash sat in a heap, completely perplexed. ((What the fuck just happened?)) he thought to himself. ((One minute I was completely calm, and the next I couldn’t keep myself from bouncing off the wall)). The baffled teen crawled to his feet, cupping his nose in a free hand and made his way back into the tower hoping to find Raven to explain. The last person he wanted to not like him was Raven, because she’s the last person anyone would want or need to be on the shit list with.
Robin stirred from his slumber as his alarm clock buzzed in his ear. He rose eagerly from his bed and made his way to his closet. He grabbed a fresh uniform and quickly changed, the last thing he donned was his trademark mask.
The caped wonder made his way to the common room where he found Starfire on the couch alone. He swallowed a small lump in his throat. Things had been awkward between the two of them due to their old romantic history. But that’s all it was. History. They had talked it out and it was done. Still, in the back of his mind he couldn’t get over the idea that she still felt something for him. Whether it was contempt or what he didn’t know, but he didn’t want to press the issue.
“Good morning, Starfire,” Robin greeted casually.
“Good morning, Robin!” Starfire chirped.
((She’s always in such a good mood in the morning,)) Robin thought as he poured himself a glass of orange juice.
“Robin, may we have, a serious conversation, about us?” Starfire asked cautiously. Robin momentarily choked on his juice then spat it all over like a sprinkler.
“About…..us?!” Robin choked. Starfire simply nodded and patted a spot on the couch next to her. Robin straightened himself up and slowly strolled towards his “history”.
((Why do I feel like a dead man walking?)) he thought nervously as he took his seat. Starfire drew in a breath and began to speak.
“I’ve been thinking that my feelings for you have not completely disappeared. Though we are no longer together and I am no longer your friend who is also a girl, I sometimes wish I still was,” she confided, tears welling up in her eyes. Robin’s heart dropped into his stomach. He had never felt so sorry for someone in his life. She was so sincere and genuinely sad. He wanted to take her into his arms and just hold her. Stopped in a moment in time and space. Just so she would stop crying.
((I can’t. I don’t want to give her the wrong idea,)) Robin thought, dissuading any other thoughts that could be taken as a romantic gesture. ((C’mon, think. What can I do or say to make her see it’s over but not completely crush her?)) Robin started to go through any emotion-filled speech in his head, which weren’t plentiful to say the least. Robin was a great detective, strategist and one of the best martial artist’s in the world, but sensitivity was one of his weakest aspects in his life.
“Well Robin?” Starfire awaited the Boy Wonder’s answer, her tears stained streaks onto her tanned cheeks. She bit her lip in anxiousness.
“Starfire, I-” Robin stuttered. He started to carefully choose words from his mental dictionary. He wanted to make it perfectly clear that he had moved on and wanted to take the next few years as a Titan seriously, but he couldn’t just say it like that. He had to be, sensitive and understanding. He pulled at the collar of his cape. This was going to be a long day.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The click of a knob echoed through the Brotherhood lair. The evil robot laugh of the The Brain echoed over it. A picture of an angry red face appeared.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Pain shot through Robin’s head, making him clutch onto his spiky black hair.
“Robin!” Starfire yelped as she reached out for her friend. “Robin! What is wrong?!”
He couldn’t answer. The pain. So much. Suddenly, it was gone. He felt normal again. Other than the overwhelming rage building in his system. Starfire’s hands gently landed on Robin’s shoulders as comfort.
“Are you okay, Robin?”
“I will be, when you let go of me,” Robin snarled, smacking her arms away from him. Starfire eeped and leaned away from Robin, holding her own hands.
“What, is wrong?” she asked naively.
“You! You’re what’s wrong!” Robin attacked. “We dated. We broke up. GET OVER IT! No wonder you’re so weak in battle lately! All you’ve been doing is thinking about ‘us’! Well I’m going to update ‘us’. THERE IS NO US! SO LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!” Robin bellowed before marching away towards the doorway. Before he could leave in an angry whirlwind of wrath, the pain in his head returned, dulled.
Then nothing.
A moment of confusion.
Then grief and panic set in.
“Starfire…” he whispered to himself as he turned back towards the Tamaranian. She was completely crushed. Her bright green eyes were filled with sorrow, hurt and anguish. Her bottom lip quivered and her slender hands shook. Matter of fact, her whole body was shaking severely. She had no idea what to do. No one had ever spoken to her so harshly before, especially Robin. What had she done to deserve such hateful words?
Robin approached her slowly. “Starfire, I-I’m sorry. I don’t know wha-GAH!” A bright green starbolt caught Robin off guard and sent him sailing backwards into a wall back near the doorway.
“I don’t know what I did wrong,” Starfire began, her voice as shaky as her, “but I know I did not deserve to be talked to like that!” Another green blast honed in on Robin who was barely able to dodge it.
“Please, Starfire! Don’t!” Robin pleaded. Starfire flew towards the exit, but stopped before leaving.
“In your words, I believe the proper thing to say here is STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!” she screamed as she took off like a shot down the hallway to get away from the scene.
“Starfire! NOOOOO!” Robin yelled as he ran after her as fast as his legs could carry him.
Meanwhile, Beast Boy picked himself up off his bedroom floor. “What the hell was that noise?! Are we under attack?!” BB monologued to himself as he ran down the hallway towards the source of the blast. On his way, he crashed into something, or someone.
“Hey! Raven! Did you hear that noise?!” he screeched. Raven cupped her hands over her ears and grinded her teeth.
“I think that ‘noise’ was you and your annoying voice, and why are you only in boxers? Put some damn clothes on,” she snapped angrily before continuing her walk to wherever she was going.
“First of all, why am I always randomly without clothes?” Beast Boy seemingly asked the world as he looked down to see he was only in his jungle leaf pattern boxers. “Secondly, what was that for?” Beast Boy protested being treated so poorly and for no reason.
Raven turned her head slightly. “Sorry, but it’s the wrong time to crash into me right now”.
“That doesn’t give you the right to say what you said!” Beast Boy confronted Raven.
“Beast Boy, I’m warning you. I’m NOT in the mood for this right now,” Raven seethed. Kid Flash had made her extremely irritated by following her all around the tower trying to explain away everything that had happened between them on the roof, but Raven was in no mood for it. The more she ran into him, the more pissed she got. Eventually she used her powers to form a bubble around him to give her some time to hide. And Beast Boy was giving the persistent redhead a chance to catch up to her.
“No! It’s not fair!” Beast Boy stamped his foot on the ground forcefully.
“Shut. Up,” Raven grunted as she used her powers to push the changeling into the hallway wall. Before she could continue on her war path to her room, she was turned around by the sound of Beast Boy in pain.
“Beast Boy?” The green teen was gripping at his head, his breathing labored.
“Duuude, it huuurts,” he managed to say between convulsions of pain.
“I-I didn’t think I, threw you that hard,” Raven said in an apologetic sounding way. When she felt Beast Boy’s tense muscles relax, she shook him slightly. He was a crumpled heap on the floor. He knees were pulled into his chest, his face planted in his legs.
“Beast Boy? Beast Boy!” Raven pulled Beast Boy’s head up. “Huh?!” She gasped as she saw a sight she had never seen. Beast Boy was covered in tears, and uncontrollably crying.
“Why?! Why…is…it….never…..the……right….time?!” Beast Boy shouted between hard, convulsive sobs.
“What?” Raven asked, her violet eyes fixed to his distraught face.
“The….right time…..to…crash…into..you?! Just once……I want….you to….laugh….instead of…….HITTING MEEEEEEEAAAAHH!” Beast Boy wailed loud enough to wake the dead. The tearful Titan tore himself away from the sorry Raven and dashed down the hallway, tears streaming down his cheeks and raining behind him.
“Wait! Beast Boy!” Raven shouted trying to halt her comrade. She gave chase to him and tracked him to his room. She banged her fists against the metal doorway.

Back with the Brotherhood of Evil
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“Beast Boy! Open up!” crackled through the speakers of the Brotherhood’s computer. Mallah grinned satisfied with the mess he had made of Beast Boy.
“Now turn into a gorilla and challenge me, little green one,” Mallah laughed to himself while he eyed the picture of a blue teary face next to Beast Boy’s profile picture on the screen. He stopped amusing himself when he heard the whirr of The Brain’s wheeled robotic vessel approaching.
“Excellent. Everything is going according to plan. The Titans are destroying themselves and each other”.
Madame Rouge grinned in pure pleasure as she saw what each Titan saw. Kid Flash was dashing down hallway after hallway and into every room he passed in search of Raven. Robin was begging for Starfire to talk to him while narrowly escaping lethal size starbolts. Lastly Beast Boy was in his room viciously crying and looking up at his bedroom door with blurred, teary vision. The plan was working. They were successful in injecting the technology in the present males of the group and manipulating their emotions to the Brotherhood’s liking.
“At this rate, the Titans will be defenseless against any of our attacks,” Rouge noted. “Those two little girls would be relatively easy to deal with. And with Robin, the Kid Flash and the Beast Boy under our control, they wouldn’t be able to fight back”.
Menacing laughter echoed throughout the evil lair. Only to be cut off by the sound of an explosion. Mallah and Rouge snapped their attentions to a large hole in the wall. Within the hole stood Cyborg, laser cannon glowing, and accompanied by the Titans East.
“Lucy, I’m home!” Cyborg shouted as he aimed his arm at the trio near the computer. Bumblebee stood strongly, her stingers sparking with yellow light.
“Hope we didn’t break anything, yet,” she said, her lips curled into a vicious smirk.
Rouge went to break for it only to be stopped in her tracks by an arrow whizzing by her face.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” Speedy playfully threatened as he drew back another arrow cocked in his bow, aiming straight at Rouge.
Aqualad and Mas and Menos appeared ready to fight if the three lone members of the Brotherhood tried anything funny.
Cyborg approached The Brain, his laser ready to fire. “Lucy, you’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do,” Cyborg imitated grimly as he pointed up at the screens where his friends lives were being broadcasted.
A/N: Yay for I Love Lucy reference! (Don't own that either! Nor do I own UPS or Fed-Ex mentioned in a previous chaptr). Now that's done, hope you enjoyed the chapter! Next chapter? Coming right up!
