Robin had woken to find himself in a repeated predicament. He was tied to his bed, attached to machines to monitor his health and possible sanity.
He still struggled, yelling and fighting against his binds.
“SOME ONE!” He yelled, hearing the door open. “Starfire!”
“Yes?” She asked, walking in slowly her hands folded in front of her.
“Let me go…” Robin ordered, pulling at his binds.
“I…I cannot.” She said standing a fair distance from him.
“Raven…”
“Raven is dead, Robin.” She said looking up at him.
Robin shook his head, still clenching onto the material.
“She’s alive! You have to believe me!” He said straining himself to sit up and look at her.
“I do not understand your Earth customs. But why have you not finished your grieve? We all miss dear Raven…”
“Star…Let me go!” He said sounding a little angered.
“Why do you choose her? She is dead and you still do not look at me with the feelings.”
Robin stayed silent as Starfire walked closer to him.
“I have protected you, Robin. I have given you the sex, the love. Why have you not come back to me?”
Robin looked away, pulling his arms up. Starfire was right next to him, she pushed him down and stared at him.
“Why, Robin? Why?”
“Please, Star…I need…”
“What is it that you need? What is it that I cannot give to you?”
“You’re not her…”
“I am not cold or mean or heartless...I do not give to you what she has given to you?”
Robin looked at her, her expression not changed.
“I love her, Star….Please…let me go!” He said laying back.
Starfire looked at the white cloth he still clutched. She bent over and plucked it from his hand. He attempted to get it back.
“Give it back Star!” He shouted at her, making her frown.
“Raven is not coming back, Robin. You must let her go.” Starfire threw the cloth into the trash can and stood up, crossing her arms.
“You are going crazy. I do not wish to do what we did to you before…Please, Robin…Come back to me…I shall make it glorious once more.”
Robin looked away, “No.”
Starfire clenched her hands and turned, walking to the door. She stopped and looked back.
“I do not mourn her death, I will not mourn yours.”
She left, leaving Robin in the dark, save for the blinking lights. He laid back and breathed through his teeth. He closed his eyes, Raven’s face appearing.
“Raven…” He whispered. “Raven…”
He slipped into thought, appearing in the same cemetery where she was buried. He looked at the tomb stone and looked around as the wind blew.
“Find me Robin…” Her voice echoed in the wing.
Robin looked at the loose gravel, barely covered with moss. He got to his hands and knees and started to dig. He reached her coffin, 6 feet under, his fingers bleeding. He opened it. Raven’s body, her arms crossed. She looked peaceful.
Robin looked upward and then back at Raven, jumping back. Her eyes opened and she held her arms out, crying.
“Robin!!!”
Robin reached into the coffin, grabbing her arms. Instead of pulling her out, she pulled him in. They fell into a white tunnel, his eyes closed at first. He felt a warm hand on his and opened his eyes, looking at Raven. Her hair was long and she wore white. She pointed to the end of the tunnel an image of a building, one he didn’t recognize.
“Find me Robin.” She repeated, letting go of him.
“Raven!” Robin reached for her but she slowly disappeared.
He looked forward and fell some more, landing into the image. He looked around at the building. It was dark and creepy; vines grew up the side of the building.
Robin noticed a flickering light and a shadow pass through. He climbed up to the window and peered in. Gasping as he watched the scene unfold.
Raven, his Raven, shackled, hanging from the wall. Red X was thrusting into her naked body. She cried loudly, gripping onto the chain. There was another person in the room, he turned and looked Slade.
Slade was slouched over a table tinkering with some chemicals.
“Don’t fucking break her.” He said, turning around and watching the scene.
Raven kept her eyes closed, tears running down her face. Red X gave a few more thrusts before shuttered. He pulled from her, watching his load trickle down her leg. He tilted her head to him, her eyes still shut.
“She’s doing something….” He said to Slade who turned back around, getting up.
Robin wanted to go in and do something. He couldn’t move. Slade walked over to Raven and pulled a needle out, tilting her neck to the side and injecting it.
Her eyes opened and white light filling the room, Robin closed his eyes and when he opened them he was back in the med room.
She was alive…trying to contact him…and he was lying around doing nothing! He struggled even more, trying to pull free. His skin rubbed red, trickling some blood as he rubbed against his binds.
“Please…please…” He mumbled, finally being able to get a buckle loose.
It snapped and he caught it in his hand. He heard the door open and laid back as Kid Flash walked in, checking out his stats.
“Flash…” Robin said, clutching the buckle in his hand.
Kid Flash turned and looked at him, leaning over the bed. “Hey, I’m just here to give you something to sleep.”
He moved to the table and took out a small gun-shaped device. “It gets into the blood stream faster supposedly…”
Kid Flash leaned over the bed and WHAM. Robin smashed him in the side of the face, making him lurch forward. He undid his binds and grabbed the device, shooting it into Flash.
He positioned Flash in his spot, removing his attachments quickly and placing it on him. It was as if he was still there. Robin looked at himself in the mirror and then turned to leave, he stopped at the trash can and pulled Raven’s scrap of clothing from it.
He wandered down the halls, shaking a little. He went around the corner as Starfire and BB walked down the halls, talking about something. He slipped into his room and quickly dressed. He looked down at the cloth and clenched it.
“I’ll find you.”
The alarms went off and he heard the others coming down his direction. He opened a window and slipped out right as Cyborg busted through the door.
“He’s gone!”
“We must find him!” Starfire said, looking at the open window.
Robin placed his helmet on and revved up his bike and took off. He’ll find Raven, he’ll save her…He had to.
