Robin picked the knife up with two fingers on the handle, holding it up to his face and wearing a heavy frown. “Well…this confirms my suspicions alright…” he mused, taking out a plastic evidence baggie and dropping the knife inside. “Something definitely happened here….something bad.”
By this point Starfire was looking around furtively, fearing that something was going to jump out of the woods at the five of them.
She wasn’t too far off.
The creature that had been hiding in the woods – Jason – suddenly burst forth, moving with an incredible speed, a speed that wasn’t his own, and caught them all by surprise, swinging out with his left fist and hitting Cyborg in the jaw. Incredibly, the force of the blow sent him falling head over heels as Jason turned on one foot, and grabbed Beast Boy around the neck tightly, starting to squeeze hard enough to crush the vertebrae, but suddenly he lost his grip.
Jason blinked, confused, until he saw that the green human and changed into a large green gorilla. Having never seen one before, the demonic force just stared. Then he received a crushing blow across his masked face, sending him reeling and stumbling back a few steps, a small crack forming along the bottom of his damaged back.
The gorilla growled at him, and Jason glared back, before rushing forward again and punching it in the face with both hands, knocking him down and causing Beast Boy to shift back to normal. He raised his machete up, only to get blown back by a burst of green light. As he slowly shook his head to clear his eye, he heard, a little fuzzily, a rousing cry of “Titans, Go!”
Robin, Bo-staff at the ready, rushed forward, spinning it around over his head, and smacking Jason across the chest repeatedly, the force of the blows driving him back one step at a time, though after several more smacks, Robin was beginning to run out of steam while Jason was becoming less affected by the blows. Robin stopped for a moment, panting, only to be grabbed by the collar of his cape and held up in the air, one of Jason’s large fists rising back and ready to smash into the Boy Wonder’s face. It was at that moment that someone tapped on Jason’s shoulder, and he turned, coming face to mask with Cyborg. The two appeared even in height at first glance, though it was Jason who had a few more inches, and Cyborg more muscle.
After what seemed like a quiet eternity, Cyborg slammed his fist into Jason’s face, a loud resounding crack echoing in the small open area, and the creature stumbled back, a large fracture running down the center of his mask, a spider web of cracks and breaks spreading over the fiberglass like a forest fire in the summer. He lost his grip on both Robin and the machete, looking as stunned as he could, his good eye clouding over for a moment before he fell down with a loud thud.
Everyone did a collective double-take, and Robin moved closer carefully, prodding at the prone figure with his staff. No response. He did it again, and again, and still nothing. Finally he broke out into a small smile, and said, “I think…that’s it.”
That was the moment that Jason chose to strike, grabbing the end of the staff, and swinging Robin around in the air, before throwing him at Starfire. The two fell down in a heap, and a small piece of Jason’s mask fell to the ground, followed by another, and another. Soon half the mask had fallen away, and exposed half of Jason’s horrible, rotting face.
Even Raven had to admit the sight was making her nauseous, and Beast Boy nearly lost his pie as the sloping, almost skeletal visage stared back at them blankly, some of the skin torn away from the left side of his face and exposing some bone and tattered muscle. Jason then turned and caught Cyborg in a headlock, and started slamming his fist down into his chest. Impossibly the titanium alloy started denting, minutely, but still denting, from the force of the angered blows. As he brought his fist down one last time, a black aura washed over the zombie, and he lifted into the air, confused. Then he was spun around and sent flying into a tree, impaled on one of the many branches and hanging there limply, seemingly dead.
“Well…that went well….” Raven remarked, deadpanning, as everyone managed to get back up, rubbing their various bumps and bruises.
“I think he’s done for, y’all….” Cyborg did a scan, and made a sound of puzzlement. “Well, this is strange…he doesn’t seem to be human….”
“I could’ve told you that..” Raven came back with a sigh and floated over to Robin, her hands glowing blue as she touched the back of his head, and healed the concussion he’d gotten from being thrown into Starfire.
“Thanks…” he replied with a small smile, sitting up and looking over to where Jason was, his face suddenly going pale. “Uh oh…”
“What…what is it?” Starfire blinked, then followed his line of sight, and gasped loudly. Everyone else turned to see the same thing: Jason was gone, the only evidence of his being their a large spot of blood on the tree trunk.
“I didn’t expect that.” Raven blinked repeatedly, before going to check on the others.
“Normally I wouldn’t say this but…I think everyone should split up…” Robin blinked a little himself, standing up with Raven’s help. “If you spot anything, use your communicators right away.”
Everyone else nodded, and split up into five different directions.

“This is getting more and more fun….” Slade smirked a little, arms crossed over his broad chest. He stepped back from the tree, and floated in the air, surrounded by a deep orange glow. “Now, just a few more moments….” At that he suddenly started glowing a deep red color, and disappeared in a flash of light that no one else saw.

Beast Boy was walking along a beach in the form of a cheetah, surprised at how beautiful everything looked from here, and how peaceful…
It was hard to believe that this place was home to such a dangerous being in the first place, but if he had learned anything during his lifetime, it was that nothing was as quiet as it looked.
He continued to move along the beach, finally stopping at one of the few wooden docks that lined different parts of the beach, and walked to the edge of it, changing back into his human for and sighing loudly. ‘Y’know….I bet Terra would’ve loved to have seen a place like this…’ he brooded silently, sitting on the edge of the small dock, a sad smile playing across his features.

Robin was up in a tree, sitting down with his arms over his chest and a fierce, determined scowl on his face.
‘I guess I should’ve done more research into all this…I just hope I don’t doom everyone…..’
He looked down at his communicator, then fired his grapple at another tree, and started his search swinging.

Starfire was flying high over the forest, a worried look on her face. She could see Cyborg below her, using his built-in radar and scanners to try to find Jason’s trail, while she used her keen eyesight to try to ferret him out, but no luck so far.
She sighed heavily, and floated up a little more, widening her search radius as she did.

Raven was floating above the ground, her eyes narrowed into slits and glowing darkly as she lifted up logs and various other things. She was about ready to call in that she hadn’t found anything when she heard a twig snap.
She turned around, hands surrounded with darkness, but she saw nothing.
Including the fist going to the back of her head. It slammed home with brutal force, enough that would split anyone else’s head open, save for Cyborg or Starfire, and knocked her out cold.
A black gloved hand reached down and grabbed her by the hood of her cloak, dragging her along the leaf-covered ground and deeper into the woods, slowly and with purpose.

Warning: after this point, the reason why this fic has its rating becomes really clear. So….yeah, there is sexual content in the next chapter, and probably more violence. You’ve all be warned about this before, so if you’re shocked, then I have to ask why. Seriously, people.
