Naruto woke up again not knowing where he was, but this time he was strapped down to some kind of medical bed. "Ugh...What happened? Ero-Sennin? Sakura? Old Lady Tsunade?" His eyes started to focus again and was startled to see the Colorful Man, the Orange Woman, the Statue, the Blue-Robed Woman, and some green kid that reminded him of that rat. "Why are you holding me here?"
Robin stepped forward, "Who are you working for?"
Strange question, Naruto thought. "I'm not working for anybody. I don't even know were I am. Unlock me."
"Not until you tell us what we want to know. Why were you helping Jinx?"
"Who? You mean the purple haired woman?" Naruto's anger was building, "I saw her being chased by thugs."
"Those weren't thugs you idiot! They were cops!"
"Like I would know that!" His temple were beginning to throb.
"You should! Now why didn't you stop her?" Robin yelled back.
"Because she looked to be the one in trouble you fruity looking son of a bitch! I don't even know what the hell I'm doing here! While I was out training I got hit with a beam of light, pulled through a vortex, end up on top of a building, save a woman in trouble, got assaulted by five people with more power than Orochimaru's Elite Four, and then tied to a bed and interrogated! And now I am through with you!" With that Naruto's eyes shot blood red as the demon fox's power coursed through his body. The leather bands that held him down were snapped easily as Naruto landed on the ground ready for them to strike. The strike never came. The team that stood before him looked at each other thoughtfully. The colorful man looked more confused than anything, "Did you say vortex?
Several hours later, Uzumaki Naruto had finished explaining everything to the titans about his life and how he was pulled into the vortex. The team listened incredulously as the descriptions of Naruto's adventures and his losses. Starfire had to excuse herself for a moment after the story of the Third Hokage's passing. Beast Boy laughed loudly about Naruto's ride with the Frog Boss. Robin nodded with respect during the story of Naruto protecting the Fifth Hokage from the traitorous medical ninja. Cyborg closed his eyes imagining himself there at Naruto's battle with Garra of the Sand.
Robin stood at the end of the story and walked up to where Naruto was sitting. Slowly and deliberately extended his hand to him saying, "I'm sorry, Naruto. We were wrong about you. But I have a good idea that we were going to meet one way or another anyway."
"What do you mean?"
"There is a villain here in Jump City. His goes by the name Slade. We have been fighting him for the last 3 years. His latest scheme was to send us to a new world with a weapon he built. I believe that when I redirected the beam up to the sky it somehow got redirected to your world and brought you here instead." Robin started to walk out of the living room, but stopped at the door. "While we can't send you home, yet, you are welcome to make one here. Cyborg, set him up." With that said, Robin left the tower to patrol the city.
Silence filled the room for a few moments. Eventually, Beast Boy said, "So......you're a ninja, huh?"
"Yea"
Cyborg and Beast Boy looked at each other for a moment and shouted, "CAN YOU SHOW US SOME MOVES?" Raven sighed to herself and left to meditate. Moments later Naruto, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Starfire arrived in the sparring room. Bounding to the center of the room Naruto called to the others, "Oi! Let's have ourselves a match! You three versus me!"
The trio looked took each other with worried glances. "Dude, we already beat you once," Beast Boy replied. Starfire nodded, "It is true, friend, we do not wish to harm you."
Grinning, Naruto's hand flickered for a moment. Hearing three thunks at their feet the Titans looked down to see three kunai at their feet. "Ninja never attack with all of their skill at an unknown opponent. I think I can manage this round. Attack now!" The Titans charged at the center towards Naruto. As they neared him, Naruto threw a smoke bomb at his feet and performed a switching technique leaving him clinging on the ceiling. The Titans charged blindly into the smoke looking to catch their new friend. As the smoke cleared they realized that they were not alone. The room had been filled with 100 copies of the Teen Titans and all of them looked stupefied.
A few moments went by as they looked at each other. In chorus the Beast Boys went, "Sweet!" The Starfires exclaimed, "Marvelous!" The original Cyborg said nothing as he looked sternly at his copies. "AWSOME!" He shouted suddenly, looking very misty-eyed. The room filled with smoke again as all the copies turned back into Narutos, "Well? Are we going to fight or not?"
The battle was just what Naruto needed. By focusing all his powers to his clones he was able to bleed off a lot of the extra energy, not to mention stress, he had. Naruto had beaten back the three Titans with the clones alone. He didn't want to use some of his skills on them. No sense in trying to kill them being that they were trying to become friends with him. Eventually, the new friends settled back and watched as Naruto demonstrated with some of his more advanced techniques. The titans marveled over each different maneuver and the demon fox child loved every second of it. For his final demonstration he reared back and brought forth a glowing ball of his energy. The others marveled on how the insides spun this way and that. "Hey Cyborg," Naruto called with a grin, "Throw something big at me! Real big!"
Cyborg grabbed one of the large, flat weights that he worked out with and hurled it at the young man. Concentrating on the large target, Naruto tapped into his inner demon, bringing forth a huge amount of chakra. Upon forming the rasengan, he shaped the inner vortex until it flattened as a spinning disk on his palm. Throwing the new rasengan disk, Naruto cut his way through the dense metal sending the pieces flying off. Naruto wiped the sweat off his face. That had been a little tougher than he expected. Quickly regaining his composure he turned to his new friends, "How was that?"
The teens all jumped and cheered at the display. They all had their own gifts, but this young man was truely special. As the day turned to night, the team was cleaning the gym when Raven glided into the room. She had only wanted to check on her friends since the last newcomer tried to kill them all. She still hadn't quite gotten over Terra and was quite protective of her friends. What she had not expected was Naruto to start screaming. Everyone stopped and could only stare at the young ninja as he clutched his stomache. He had been all smiles earlier and was eagerly trying to help clean up. Raven felt a disturbance in her own mind as the pain seemed to be increasing in Naruto. He was on the floor now crying out in anguish. Starfire was the first to check on the boy when she was suddenly thown violently against a wall. Cyborg and Beast Boy charged Naruto to restrain him but they were thown back as well by two transparent, red claws. Chanting her magic words, Raven incased Naruto inside another of her black orbs.
Instantly, she knew she had made a very big mistake. Her mind began to explode with memories that were not her own. She saw herself as a giant fox looking over the wilderness into the world. She destroyed villages and devoured its peoples. Her powers were strong enough to knock down whole mountains and cause great storms in the sky. She then knew imprisonment. She found herself trapped inside a baby who one day began to use her power for his own. She saw the boy fight and become hurt. She found her power flow into the boy as his wounds healed in battle. She then found herself in a new world with the boy, but something was different. All this time she couldn't even bend the bars of her cage, but now the cage doesn't seem as stable as it was. The great fox had grinned to itself. It knew at that point that the time of its rebirth was at hand. The Nine-Tails Fox is to be reborn!
