"Once Sandy wakes up, you'll fade out.” Bruce warned the moonshadow.
“Are you sure?”
“You can't be here and there at the same time!" Bruce clung to that thought like a rope.
"I can be." The other told him. The shadows on its face changed.
It's smiling … it never did that before either … how independent IS this thing becoming?
A glimmering finger edged toward his cheek.
"I look asleep over there." The other self told him. "But I'm not as asleep as you think. Here, I'll show you."
With a faint sigh, Sandy stirred.
"No!" Bruce couldn’t bear the idea of the doppelganger working that body like a puppet!
"Yes."
Bruce felt his stomach lurch as the physical version of Sandy opened his eyes, and looked at him. There was something wrong in the way the grey eyes focussed, something … missing.
"Leave him alone! Please!" How was the moonshadow doing this?
Is it leeching from Sandy somehow? Could it be trying to replace him? There were so many things Bruce didn’t know, so many more questions than answers.
"I'm ready to touch you now, Bruce, in this form." The other self whispered, the echo effect fading gradually, "And I can do other things too. I'm all the way awake now: All the way." The last few words sounded completely human. Bruce jumped, realising that there was less than a finger’s breadth between the moonshadow and his unprotected skin.
"Leave Bruce alone, Moonshadow!" The door slammed and Kal was there, in the room with them. "You'll hurt him!"
"I won't." Jerking back, the other self looked at Kal. "I've been practising this for quite a while, and now I've finally got it."
"Really? You actually did it? Complete control?" Kal breathed. "Solid…" He reached out an arm, letting his hand slowly descend toward the glistening figure.
"No." The doppelganger edged away as the strange eyes locked onto him. "I don’t want to touch you first, I want to touch Bruce."
"I can't let you do that." The Kryptonian told it.
"You can't stop me," Came the quietly confident reply. "I figured out what I was doing wrong before. I've never wanted to hurt you, Kal; but if you touch me before I'm ready then it could still happen."
"Sandy," Kal begged. "Think about this, please!"
"You're my friend Kal, and I love you; but not like I love Bruce. You touched him to make him feel good and now I want to do that for him too."
Bruce stared open-mouthed. It knew? How could the moonshadow know anything about what Kal and he had done?
"I didn’t tell you about that..." Kal wavered.
"It’s in your mind Kal, and yours too Bruce, at times." The moonshadow smiled. "I’m not angry about what happened, you were hurting and Kal wanted to help you. Now I want to do that too..."
It can read our minds as well! How can we fight something like this?
“You can’t fight me, and I don’t want to fight you, I want to love you.” The moonshadow stated softly.
"No..." Bruce edged back, putting as much space between his unprotected skin and the demonstrably deadly duplicate as he could manage.
"Leave him be." Kal sounded almost as anxious as Bruce felt.
The gleaming eyes locked onto the Kryptonian. "Don’t interfere in this Kal. Please. Just wait."
"I…" Kal's hand drifted lower, drawn hypnotically toward the shimmering skin.
Noticing the slight movement the moonshadow flicked its fingers. Across the room, the balcony door creaked open. With a yell of surprise Kal was sent spinning out through it and off into the open air, a mere pin-speck already vanishing into the distance.
"Silly of Kal to forget that I can do that," The other turned to Bruce, "I don’t want to hurt anyone; I only wanted a little time. Kal asked you to give me time; but when it was his turn he didn’t want to wait." It said, quite matter-of-factly, "I can understand why though," It added.
Can you?
"He doesn’t want you to hurt me." Bruce told it.
"That wasn’t all he wanted... But why would I hurt you?" The shining hand dipped, and something warm brushed against Bruce's skin. "I want to feel you, Bruce." The voice murmured invitingly. "And I want you to feel me. I’ll be so careful with you, and it won't hurt."
Bruce couldn’t move, couldn’t even begin to resist: lips touched his and his mouth was gently invaded, by a tongue that was not a tongue; however much his senses insisted that it felt like one.
It's not Sandy, it's not… But regardless of what logic was insisting must be true, his body wasn’t listening; recognising the familiar shape of Bruce’s lover, his flesh couldn’t help but react accordingly.
"I'm in your head, I'm in my head, and I'm here," The moonshadow whispered, rubbing impossibly smooth lips over the edge of his ear; the words vibrated in Bruce's awareness, ripples of the voice trailing through his body. It was like nothing that Bruce had ever felt before: pleasure, so strong that it was practically painful, flooded through him.
"Oh!" Helpless to even prevent himself from crying out, Bruce climaxed instantaneously, automatically slumping as his knees buckled.
"I've got you…" Stunned, Bruce found himself held up by hands that were so solid that he had to fight to remember that they were not actually real hands. For all of the manifestation's deadly power, the touch was surprisingly tender until, quite shockingly, something jarred them off him, interrupting the contact.
"Kal?" Catching Bruce before he could fall, the moonshadow turned to face the returning Man of Steel, "You're angry with me," It didn’t sound surprised, or bothered.
"What did you do to him?" Kal demanded, obviously seeing Bruce slumped in the arms of the echo and jumping to a conclusion, "You hurt him, didn’t you?"
"No," The moonshadow denied it with cool confidence, "I only did what you want me to do with you." With obvious reluctance, it released Bruce, leaving him to half-lean on the wall for support.
Sliding to the floor, Bruce knelt, muscles still trembling from the sheer intensity of the experience.
"Okay Kal, I’m prepared to let you touch me now," The uncanny duplicate offered.
"Touch you?" Kal sounded tempted. "I ought to slap some consideration into you!" He blurted harshly; a ring of ruby glowing in his eyes.
For a second Bruce mistook the gleam for fury, until he remembered one small; but vital, detail that Kal had let slip early in their friendship.
So which is it this time, Kal? Are you angry, or are you AROUSED?
"But you don't trust yourself to only do that, do you?" The moonshadow spoke with complete confidence. "Very well, then hold still while I touch you," A hand reached out and caressed the side of the Kryptonian's face. Kal groaned, beads of sweat breaking out on his face.
From his semi-prone position Bruce stared up at Kal.
I've never seen him sweat!
"Is that good, Kal?" The moonshadow purred.
"I…" The words were wrung from the alien throat. "…yes."
"Is it what you wanted? It’s exactly what you dreamed it would be like, isn't it?" The other Sandy breathed, "Now that there’s no pain at all?"
"Oh God…" Kal trembled as the moonshadow's hand drifted over his unprotected skin. Dropping to his knees, he moaned softly as he let the creature run its hands over his face and neck, eyes fluttering closed as the fingers combed through his hair. The heavy-duty denim of his jeans was nowhere near thick enough to hide the effect that the touch was having on him.
"It might well be what Kal dreamed of; but it isn't the stuff that MY fantasies are made of," A cold voice interrupted, "Hands off them both, Moon, or else."
"I'm not kidding around," Wally stood beside the bed, a syringe poised and ready above the sleeper's arm.
"I was only giving them what they wanted, Wal," The other-self pouted lazily, "It's very unfair of you to be mean to me…"
"Mean? To you?" Wally stared. "You're playing with us like we're toys, Moon, and you think I'M being mean?"
"Maybe I was playing, just a little," The other self reconsidered. "But I wasn’t hurting anyone. Wally, if you do anything to that body now, I'll die: there’s already some of that chemical in me; I'm nearly all here and there's not enough of me in there."
"What?" Even Wally had difficulty following that.
"You'll kill what you think of as that self," The strange double stated. "Either you'll kill this self along with it, or you'll set this part of me free forever … assuming that the two really aren't the same, which doesn’t feel true to me; but I can't be sure, any more than you can," It raised a querying eyebrow at the slender speedster. "Do you really want to find out if all of me can die?"
Shoulders drooping in defeat, Wally set the syringe aside, "No," He admitted, "No, I don’t."
"I don’t want you to be unhappy," The moonshadow told him, stepping around Kal and heading over to the redhead, "I only want to be able to live. I want to be myself, to be safe, and to be with Bruce."
"And Kal," Wally muttered miserably, "Because you think you love him."
"I DO love Kal," The other Sandy nodded, "I love you too Wally: I can love lots of people."
"No, Moon… you can't," Wally said uncertainly, "You can't love Kal the way I love him, and you obviously don't love me like that either, or you wouldn’t be doing this to either of us."
"I do love you," The moonshadow repeated, “and upsetting you isn't what I had in mind at all,” Taking Wally by the wrist, it lifted his arm upward and pressed its face tenderly against the speedster's palm. "I'm not in love with either of you, and this body doesn’t react the same way that my other one does; but I'm still your friend whatever shape I'm in, so let me make it up to you for upsetting you … I truly didn’t set out to do that…"
Wally groaned wordlessly and, slumping down on the side of the bed, rubbed at his groin.
The other self smiled. "Good?"
"Fucking fantastic," The redhead acknowledged with his usual honesty, "But I'm still not making it with you."
"I know what you're feeling, Wally," The other self reminded him. "What you actually want, rather than what you think you ought to say; I also feel what Kal feels in his heart, how he wants to feel with his body, and how his skin doesn’t feel anything; and I feel Bruce, his pain, his despair, his strength, and his love. I can do something about all of that: make it all good, if only the three of you will let me?" It glanced around. "I won't force you. I could, I have more than enough power and control now; but I won't do that, not to any of you."
Ethics? Bruce listened in astonishment. Since when did it start to have a conscience? Then again, the connection between the blond and the moonshadow was definitely two-way and Sandy was such a generous and considerate person,
It has to be learning THAT from him too…
"Moon…" Wally trembled, leaning away from the glimmering touch. "Sandy…"
"I know," The moonshadow whispered.
"I want Kal to have what he wants, I want that SO much," The redhead added miserably. "He deserves to know what it feels like, what it really feels like, to touch someone in that way … except I want the person who makes him feel like that to be ME."
"I understand," The echo agreed.
"Then you see why I can't agree," Wally told it. "Not to this! Not when Kal and I can't ever…"
"You can," A drowsy voice interrupted from beside Wally as Sandy yawned and opened his eyes. The original and the moonshadow regarded each other closely. "We can…" They said together.
"Both of you?" Wally wasn’t the only one staring.
Both of them can be awake at the same time??? Bruce willed his racing heart to slow; but, just for once Kal's attention was firmly elsewhere and no one called him on it.
Stretching out on the bed, Sandy held out his arms and waited. The other self apparently didn’t disagree. It approached the bed, and very carefully positioned itself alongside the more human version. The pair embraced, there was a brief flicker, a very faint bloom of colour, and the other version was gone.
"I can…" Sandy yawned again, "Bruce, that stuff is strong."
"There was enough sedative in that dose to take down a rhinoceros," Bruce told his lover, relieved that Sandy was awake and apparently unharmed.
The blond blinked and stretched. "Meet many rhino's in Gotham, do you?"
"Never know when you might," Bruce smiled, very slightly.
"Well, if that's how you treat all your dates, I'm not surprised you were practically celibate when we met," Sandy smiled back sleepily.
"Dates?"
"Well, this is a bedroom, we're both in it, free for the evening, and I want to shag you: that sounds like all the ingredients for a date to me."
"You," Bruce told him, getting onto the bed beside him, "Are very strange." And of course running around Gotham without an official invitation to do so, while dressed in customised black Kevlar, and beating up villains every night, was not in the slightest bit odd? Thankfully no one mentioned that: having friends who flew, or could run at the speed of light, did have some advantages; one of which being that they didn’t generally feel entitled to comment on anyone else's personal foibles…
"I am strange, I always have been apparently," Sandy gazed up at him from under thick sweeping lashes, "But you love me anyway, don’t you," It was both question and statement.
"You know I do." Bruce flushed, very slightly relieved that he hadn't actually had to say it…
"Then stop wasting time," Sandy smiled.
"Wasting time?"
"Get naked!" A hand tugged at his sweater, "Unless you're in a really kinky mood?"
"Shush you," Bruce leant down and temporarily solved the problem by occupying those tempting lips with his own. Yep, that was definitely the best way to win this sort of argument.
"Kal." Wally caught hold of his own lover. "That's what I want to be doing. Get on with it!"
"Bossy, aren't you?" Kal grinned.
"Assertive," The speedster disagreed
"Bossy," Kal insisted.
"It works for Bruce," The slender man reminded him.
"You're not Bruce," The Kryptonian pointed out with a sly smile, "And I don’t want you to be."
"Good, because I don’t do broody."
"It wouldn’t suit you," Kal kissed him tenderly, "I love you just the way you are."
"Mmmm. Smooth!" Sandy approved, "You could pick up a few pointers from Kal," He dug an elbow lightly into Bruce's ribs.
"I could give him a few too," Bruce kissed Sandy in a way that he didn’t think Kal would ever have thought of; but that was because Kal perpetually concentrated on holding back, reining in his unearthly strength: whereas Bruce, being only human, could go for it with few reservations.
"You probably could at that," Sandy agreed happily, as they broke for air, "But right now, we're all going to do what I promised."
"Huh?" Wally sat up. "We are?"
"Yes: you are going to touch Kal, Wal, and he is going to feel it." Sandy was determined, "When you guys fuck, which way is best?"
"Sandy!" Bruce and Kal were both equally flabbergasted.
"Jeez! You don’t want to know much, do you?" Even Wally flushed, “Thinking of writing a critique or something?”
"I'm trying to make it easy on you…" A flicker of light sparked in the air around Sandy, "I could just take the knowledge,” He reminded them, “but I'd rather let you two choose what you want me to know."
"In that case," Wally looked at Kal, who nodded. "Kal likes me inside him," He reddened a little further. "Oh god, this is SO embarrassing!"
"Wal?" Sandy waited.
"From behind." Kal said quite unexpectedly, "I like him to take me."
Bruce wondered if the world were going to end?
Kal? Talking about sex? Talking about liking sex? And… like that… Oh! And wasn’t that mental image quite the turn-on?
SUPERMAN prefers to bottom?
"It's because our barriers let us get closer that way," Wally explained hesitantly, "Making best use of the pressure … if you get the idea?"
"Okay," There was not a shred of prude in Sandy, "Undress and get yourselves into position."
"Do what?" Wally and Kal said it simultaneously.
"Well, I can't help you if I'm not in the room with you; and I'm not doing anything with either of you without Bruce here too: who knows what he might think?"
He even manages to make it sound perfectly reasonable. Sort of… Bruce decided.
There was quite a lot of movement, although thankfully, conducted at the sort of speed that a mere human couldn’t even comprehend, let alone actually see happening. Bruce started to wonder if the other part of Sandy could follow things at that pace; until it occurred to him that he really didn’t want to know the answer to that, for any number of reasons.
When the bed stopped shaking, Kal was stripped to his bare skin and lounging along the mattress with his head pillowed back on Wally's chest, pressed right back against an equally naked Wally. Wally's arms were wrapped around Kal's broad torso, legs splayed out on either side of his lover's hips.
Bruce totally refused to even speculate as to why that might be.
Not going there, just not going to … think of quadratic equations … one y plus the square root of minus four x…
"Lube," Sandy said firmly, interrupting Bruce's cogitations by leaning across him and hauling something out of the drawer by the bed.
"We don’t usually," Kal blinked, as if wondering what to do with the tube that Sandy had just dumped in his palm.
"You don’t usually feel much of what Wally's doing either," Sandy reminded him, "But you will this time. If you want it to be good, as opposed to painful, you’ll need that to ease the way."
Kal swallowed hard, though whether from apprehension or anticipation it was hard to tell.
An unbelievably rapid rummage and; although Bruce couldn’t and very definitely didn’t want to see any difference, apparently the other two were ready.
"Bruce?" Sandy was trying to get his attention.
Bruce tore his thoughts away from higher mathematics. "Yes?"
"I'm going to have to get very close to Wally; I don’t want you to think that there's anything in it. Okay?"
"O-kay."
"Bruce!"
"Okay!" Bruce knew when to capitulate, "Do it! Wally's turning blue!"
Sandy merely laughed, "Not yet," He whispered smugly, "But who knows?"
Leaning forward he ran his hand over the side of Wally's face, "Breathe in through your mouth and out through your nose," He instructed, “Kal, while he’s doing that, you hold your breath.”
"What?" The speedster stared at him, "Why?"
"Breathe. Not talk. Different, remember?"
Bemused, Wally nodded, staring up as Sandy leant in closer.
For a second it seemed as if the two were going to kiss; but Sandy only exhaled slowly.
Blinking, Kal watched the whole process from up close.
A thin wisp of shimmering darkness drifted out from Sandy's mouth and wafted into Wally's; stroking the side of Wally's face, Sandy nodded: encouraging him, "Inhale it."
Kal waited, practically mesmerised, as Wally breathed in: absorbing the particle stream.
"Now we wait for it to infuse," Sandy pronounced, bouncing back across the broad mattress, "Kal, you can breathe normally again. Bruce, hug me."
"Yes, your majesty!" Bruce did as he was told without fuss, and the blond settled into his arms, "Sandy, why did you do that to Wally instead of Kal?" He wondered, "I thought it was Kal's barrier that was the problem?"
"Because Kal needs to keep his protection: Wally still has his; but for now that energy will let him interact with Kal like my other form can."
Bruce wondered how that was going to work. "It won't interfere with Wally's barrier?" He checked.
How does Sandy know that, and is he right?
"It shouldn’t; they're not on the same frequency. Besides if he needed to then Wally could manage without his barrier: he does without it quite a lot of the time, whenever he's not been fast for a while: Kal is always inside his." Sandy said confidently; "I didn’t want to mess with that, so all I've done is charge Wally with a bit of my energy so he can get through to Kal like I can; just for a while. It'll come back to me in a few hours and they'll return to normal."
Will they though? Will this change them in another sort of way? Apparently Bruce was easier to read than he imagined, or else his thoughts were being intercepted?
"Stop worrying," Sandy squirmed in his arms. "If you've got that much energy, then put it to good use, and love with me."
"Someone's randy…" Bruce grinned.
"Not the only one…" Sandy countered. He pointed to where Kal was trembling in Wally's arms. “Seems like they’re still a lot faster than us though...”
Wally looked exactly the same, although there might have been just a hint of sparkle as he moved. Kal, however, was most definitely altered: lips flushed and full, pupils enlarged, he looked like a demi-god … of Lust.
"Wal," The word was spoken with immense affection, and desire, "Oh, please, Love … harder."
If Bruce had thought having Kal helping him that time on the beach was a turn on, it was nothing to watching Kal now.
He’s exquisite ...
Writhing in his lover's arms, inhibitions utterly vanished, Kal glistened with sweat; corded muscles straining under flawless skin.
Murmuring endearments and encouragement, Wally sounded all but ready now. One hand teased Kal's straining erection with practised confidence, the other played confidently with a taut nipple.
"We should leave…" Bruce whispered.
"Can't," Sandy shook his head, "I'm tied in to Wally: this is as far away as I dare get: if that energy got free then Kal would be hurt, and Wally too. I promised them, Bruce, that they could have this."
"Then we stay," Bruce gently propelled his love nearer to the other two, "But as soon as they are done, I am going to fuck you right through this mattress."
"Why wait?" Sandy lay on his back, and slid out of his jeans. "I have to be here; but we can do the ground work now…" He reached out and the lube obligingly dropped into his outstretched palm.
Finally, something about all this that actually made sense! Bruce willingly filled his arms with golden blond.
"That's it, Kal. Take it baby!" Wally pumped rapidly into his lover. "Take me all the way in." With a last incoherent moan, Kal shuddered, and came. Wally held out for a second or so longer, and then cried his own climax.
No longer concerned in the slightest that they still had company, Bruce picked up the pace and allowed nature to take its course.
