I'm not making any money off this, nor do I own the Ninja Turtles - I'm just borrowing them for a while.
I have a lot of classes today, but I'll try to get some more stuff up this afternoon! :) Thanks for the nice responses! :)

When Don woke up, it was the middle of the afternoon. It wasn’t like him to sleep away the day like that, but he was tired. He’d been out with the guys looking for the foot every night for weeks, and last night he’d sat up for hours, holding some ice to Charlie’s head while she slept. He rolled over, reaching for her, only to find that the bed was mysteriously empty.
“Must be in the bathroom” he thought, getting up to look. She wasn’t there. She wasn’t anywhere. Donatello took a deep breath to keep himself from flipping out. Why would she leave without telling him? If she was so afraid of her dad coming back, he would have taken her to the lair.
Don sat on the couch and pulled out his Turtle Comm to call the guys. As he flipped it open, he heard footsteps falling in the hallway. “Shit!” he muttered, running for the bedroom, diving out of sight as the keys jingled in the lock and the door swung open.
Charlie stepped in with a big paper bag of groceries. She chucked her keys on the table and kicked the door shut with her foot. The right hand side of her face was puffy and had turned into a blotchy red and purple pattern overnight. Her bottom lip was still swollen.
“Where were you!” Don cried, coming quickly out of the bedroom. “I was so worried about you! I thought you’d run away!”
“Why would I do that?” she said smiling. She took off he jacket and hung it on the rack before carrying the groceries into the kitchen.
Donatello was beginning to feel a bit exasperated. “Charlie, you can’t just disappear without telling anyone where you’re going.
That’s not safe for anyone to do - especially you.”
Charlie sighed and took his hand. She led him into the bedroom and pointed at the nightstand. A big blue piece of paper was folded in two and propped against the lamp. Printed in block letters, it said “DONATELLO”.
He coughed uncomfortably. “Oops... must have missed that.” Donatello picked it up and flipped it open, reading it out loud:
“Donnie,
Gone to police station to press charges against Dad.
Back soon.
Love, Charlie.
P.S. Don’t worry - I’ll take a cab both ways.
P.P.S. I’ll pick up some milk while I’m out.”
Don winced, looking at her over the top of the paper. He cleared his throat. “So uh... how’d it go?” She laughed at him and walked back into the kitchen to put the milk away.
“It went ok,” she said. “The cops took a statement and made me fill out a bit of paperwork. They took some pictures of my face too... I told the guy at the grocery store that I’d been mugged. The truth is too embarrassing...” Charlie talked as she put the groceries away. “I told the police that Dad had knocked me out and that when I woke up he was gone. That way I can say he’s nuts when he tells the cops about how a turtle beat the shit out of him.”
Don smiled. “Smart thinking. No one will believe him. Besides, he almost did knock you out.” Charlie turned her back to put things in the cupboard.
“Sorry about last night, Donnie.”
“Don’t worry about it,” he grinned. “I took great pleasure in throwing the asshole out.”
Charlie giggled. “Yeah, that was great, but I was actually thinking of um... earlier being cut short.”
Don’s breath caught in his throat. “Oh” was all he could say. After a minute, he nervously added, “So... that was ok, then?”
She turned her head and smiled at him. “Yeah. It was.”
