TEEN TITANS GET A NEW MEMBER
Ch. 2

This is a love story between Kid Flash and OC, now this is going to be an ongoing story so if you want anything in particular to happen give me some ideas ok. The following pairings are SpeedyxAqualad, RobinxBeastboy, RavenxStarfire, CyborgxBumblebee. And if you get any other pairing ideas let me know.

Ritsuna : Now lets get started on the next chapter shall we?

Speedy & Aqualad: YEAH!!!

Beastboy: As long as I get to get punished by Robin in this one.

Robin: I agree completely.

Kid Flash: Well all that’s fine and all but here’s my question. WILL EQUIS BE OK!?!?!?!?!

Equis: I have to agree with Kid Flash. Will I be ok or am I gonna be killed off?

Ritsuna : *smacks Kid Flash on the head* You will have to wait and see. *walks over and hugs Equis* I don’t want to let the readers get ahead of themselves.

Starfire: Oh but I wish to know if friend Equis will be unharmed.

Raven: Starfire makes a good point. Cant you just give me and her a hint?

Ritsuna : Well I guess it wouldn’t hurt to let you two know. *walks over and huddles with Raven and Starfire and tells them**stops talking and faces everyone* Well now that’s out of the way lets get this show on the road!!!

Cyborg & Bumblebee: DON’T WE GET TO SAY ANYTHING IN THIS INTRO!?!?!

(PREVIOUSLY ON TEEN TITANS GET A NEW MEMBER…)

“Don’t worry about us go get Equis out of HERE!!!!” Robin yelled at Kid Flash.

Kid Flash agreed and took off only to hear a ‘ting’ sound and finding that his feet were wrapped together by a rope projectile making Kid Flash fall and skid across the pavement, causing Equis to run to his side and see if he was alright but it was a idiotic thing to do. Control Freak saw this and smiled.

“And who is this? Someone precious and dear to you all?” Control Freak asked.

“Leave Equis out of this! This is between you and us, not Equis!” yelled Kid Flash.

This only caused Control Freak’s grin to widen.

“I see he means a lot to you. Then I’ll let… YOU BOTH DIE TOGETHER!!!” Yelled Control Freak.

As Control Freak yelled that he launched a proton beam at them which would lead to their deaths. As the beam came shooting towards them, everything seemed lost. Then Equis stood up and stood in front of Kid Flash as if to take the blow himself and not allow it to take Kid Flash. Every second moved as if in slow motion and every heartbeat resonated in his ears. Kid Flash found his voice and yelled out to Equis.

“RUN!!!”

Equis chose not to listen and let it continue its way towards him for him to take the blast full blown.

/For once I won’t be afraid./ thought Equis.

As the beam headed towards Equis time seemed to have slowed down as all the titans watched it propel towards their new friend. Out of all of them Kid Flash was the one that was scared most. He had finally found someone who he could talk to and for once understand him completely. And just as quickly as he found him, he was about to lose him. In one last attempt to keep Equis alive Kid Flash yelled out once more.

“RUN EQUIS PLEASE!!!” Yelled Kid Flash as he felt tears starting to prick at his eyes.

In that one moment Kid Flash spoke, Equis raised his right hand out in front of him. A variety of sounds and sequences sounded from Equis. The beam was stopped as if negated by a invisible force. Equis was negating the beam with what sounded like music and it was raising in volume, the sound waves almost visible, caused the beam to stop completely. Then with a turn of his right wrist Equis flings the beam in the air. He then looks to see the titans, Kid Flash faces and turns to looks at control freak with intensity in his eyes.

“From what I can tell you’re the bad guy and you hurt my friends. And if you don’t have that remote your basically powerless and once that is out of the way you can be beaten easily. Now if I remember correctly some electronics can be destroyed or even fried by a certain sound frequency, so lets get started.” Equis said calmly.

He looked down and then held his left hand, palm out, facing control freak and yelled to the titans, “COVER YOUR EARS!!!”, with that said he released a high pitched frequency and manipulated the air around him and fried Control Freak’s remote causing his robot to malfunction and collapse. Equis started to walk over to him and when he was only 5 yards away he stated, “Sleep well.” he then let out another sound blast which seemed to have knocked Control Freak out. The teen titans got up and looked at Equis. Kid Flash untied his legs and walked not ran, but walked over to the other titans and just looked at the teen.

“Dude you have powers?” asked Beastboy.

Equis looked up at Beastboy and shocked not only him but the other titans as well because there was fear in his eyes and then turned away from the other titans with his shoulders shaking in fear. He then walked to the middle of the street and held his right hand to his chest and his entire being started to glow. After the glow started he began to get electric charges running over his body and he looked up and help his hand out with his middle finger and thumb connected and snapped his fingers. A different beat erupted from the snap and all the buildings that were destroyed and the area that was damaged started to rebuild itself. Within a minute the area was fully restored. Equis turned to the titans and looked down in shame.

“If you guys don’t want to talk to me anymore I understand. So if you want me to disappear just say so now (he said with tears starting to run down his cheeks). (he wiped the tears away and looked at them) But for what its worth, today was the most fun I have ever had, except for the part with Control Freak.” Equis said looking down with a sad smile playing on his lips.

The titans just kept staring at him and said nothing. Equis took this as a silent request to leave and turned around and started to walk away. Robin snapped out of it and finally reacted to what Equis had just said.

“Wait Equis!” yelled Robin.

With that Equis turned around with an expression that cut all the titans deeper than any razor could. His beautiful eyes were full of fear and sadness with the undeniable presence of loneliness. This in turn made all of the titans feel a shot of pain in their hearts. Beastboy knowing all to well that look because he once to use to wear that look also, turned to Robin with a pleading look on his face. Robin agreed to the silent plea and turned to Equis.

“Why don’t you come with us to the tower we wanna ask you a couple of questions?” Robin proposed with a warm and welcoming tone you would usually use in order to comfort someone.

Equis looked at him and nodded in agreement unsure what they were going to say and that scared him more than anything. As they left after the police took Control Freak into custody they headed back to the tower and all sat down in the living area on the couch in front of the windows about to start their conversation. But before anyone could say anything Equis began to speak.

“Guys I’m sorry I didn’t tell you! Its just that people tend to ignore me or think of me as a freak after they find out about my powers, even my family thought I was a monster and probably still do. I didn’t want you guys to think of me like that because for once I had friends that I could actually be happy around. That’s it… that’s all I wanted to say.” Equis said with fear and a desperate plea laced on his voice while looking down at his shaking hands on his lap.

The entire team looked at Equis not knowing what to say to comfort him. They remained silent for a few moments but those moments seemed like hours to Equis and he began to get more and more nervous as the seconds passed. Until finally Starfire spoke with a serious and sincere tone that caught all titans off guard.

“Why would you think that of us friend Equis? It is true that your powers surprised us but that does not mean that we wish to end our friendship with you. Just look at us friend. I am from a different planet and yet they (pointing at the other titans) accept me for me, not what I can do.” Starfire stated causing Raven to follow Starfire.

“And I’m a demon and yet they saved me from ending up as my father’s pawn to destroy this world and made me happy even though I am sure that I do not deserve it. They are my friends and the only ones I would ever be this happy with.” Raven said with a smile on her lips.

“Yeah man look at me. I’m more metal than man and yet they don’t make me feel like I need to hide who I am and they even put up with me. Even though sometimes I am sure that I say things that make them wish they could punch my lights out and through me in a storage closet and lock me in it. But they accept me and bear with it.” Cyborg said with a smile.

“Yeah dude! Look at me I’m green, have fangs, and I change into animals! Not to mention I am all around crazy hyper. And I know how you feel. Because I was just like you. I was afraid to let anyone in and I closed myself of from the world, but once I let them in I realized how much time I wasted closing them off.” Beastboy said with a comforting smile.

“Even though I may not look it I am always scared when we fight. (all titans and Equis looked at Robin) Because when we fight I’m afraid that one of them might get hurt or worse. And sometimes that ends up in me getting hurt. I never really got to be a kid but when I am with them they let me be me and have fun. And even though its weird for me to say this, when I’m with them I can smile without wanting to hide.” Robin said with a sincere tone that you would usually hear from a big brother or close friend.

“Even I was excepted by them. Although I was a double agent when I was with brother blood, but they still let me join them and I got to meet Sparky and I truly couldn’t be any happier than I am now then back then.” Bumblebee chimed in.

“And I am just a crazy speedster that likes to zoom around and sometimes I mess with them but they like me. Surprisingly.” Kid Flash said.

“I’m not even human, I’m from Atlantis and they accept that and gave me time to adjust to the things that humans do on land. And I got to meet Ro-Speedy and fall in love. Although I still don’t understand why some humans think it is wrong for 2males or females to fall in love. In Atlantis it is accepted and quite common.” Aqualad said.

“Well I’m glad you all think that but I know I’m hot and everyone loves me because I’m just that good-UMPH!” Speedy said as he got jabbed in the side by Bumblebee.

“Were supposed to make Equis more comfortable and calm down but you just keep being an assho-” Bumblebee didn’t get to finish her sentence because of Equis laughing.

The titans looked at their friend and were awestruck by the sound of his laughter. To them it sounded like music that floated in the air, played into their ears and sank into the depths of their hearts and made them all smile. Once Equis got a hold of himself he looked at them all and straightened up still chuckling.

“Sorry, but I guess I never really thought about it that way. Its just that I feared telling others for so long that I just… I don’t know.” Equis said with his smile back on his face.

“Well then to make sure you don’t forget that you aren’t alone, would you like to become a teen titan?” Robin asked.

The moment Robin asked that Equis looked at him like he was 20 feet tall, with a Marge Simpson haircut and jumping around like he accidentally got stuck in his zipper (ouch that even hurt me).

“Really?” Equis asked surprised.

Robin and the other titans all nodded.

“Yes I would be honored if you would allow me to be a titan.” Equis replied happily.

“Alright. Then we are going to need to get you a suit and test you on the obstacle course.” Robin said to Equis.

With that said they walked to the obstacle course and began the tests.

TEST # 1
Was that Equis had to blast the aerial targets and dodge their blasts and other attacks. Which he did gracefully and perfectly, except the part where he got hit in the butt by one of the blasts. Thus ending in all the titans laughing as Equis ran about screaming because his pants caught fire.

TEST # 2
They had to see just how much his shield could withstand and how many opponents he can take at once. The titans readied themselves and fired one by one at Equis. He was doing fine when Starfire sent her star bolts at him, even when Raven sent boulders at him, also when Cyborg, Bumblebee, Robin, Speedy, Beastboy, Aqualad, Kid Flash. But when they all attacked at once his shield held up for a minute which caused dust and smoke to rise from the blast, but then it shattered seconds later and the blasts hit Equis full blast. Causing him to fly a good 10 yards and slamming into a boulder thus making him go in and out of consciousness. He tried to stay awake but couldn’t find the strength to speak. The other titans thought his shield held up. Robin then called out to Equis.

“Equis that was great!” Robin praised, but there was only silence.

He then called out again.

“Equis! Hey Equis!”

The titans all stood there and then the smoke cleared to reveal Equis on his back motionless, a good 30 feet from where he once stood. And at once they saw the blood coming from his head wound. Then without thinking Kid Flash ran over and approached Equis.

“Equis. EQUIS are you okay!? Hey just keep looking at me! CYBORG, RAVEN!!!!” Kid Flash yelled.

Equis had his eyes open looking up at Kid Flash trying to figure out why he was yelling. Then he started to get dizzy and tired. He fought with his heavy eye lids to stay open, but to no avail. He closed his eyes and the last thing he saw was Wally’s (Kid Flash), Raven’s and Cyborg’s faces and they looked scared. When he woke up he heard beeping and someone talking. He finally woke up completely and opened his eyes and looked around. He was in a room with a I.V in his arm and he saw Cyborg talking to Robin. Equis asked in a raspy voice.

“Hey guys where am I?”

With that the two titans turned and quickly walked over to Equis.

“Equis how do you feel? Do you remember what happened?” Robin asked.

“Are you in pain? Thirsty? Hungry?” Cyborg asked quickly after Robin.

“Okay first of all too many questions and Robin I feel fine, yes I remember what happened. And Cyborg, no I’m not in pain just a little sore, yes I am thirsty and I’m a little hungry.” Equis replied to both of them with one breath.

With that Cyborg and Robin looked at each other and smiled. Nodding Cyborg went to go let the other Titans know Equis is just fine. Equis saw robin get a glass of water and hand it to Equis, which he sipped on. He then looked at Robin and Robin asked.

“So what happened back there?”

“When we were doing the second test I remember putting my shield up but when you guys attacked together it held up but then it shattered and the joined blasts all hit me at once. After that I don’t remember anything until I woke up.” Equis said with an embarrassed grin looking at Robin.

“That’s good you remember what happened and you don’t have a concussion, or broken anything.” Robin told Equis.

With that out of the way the other titans ran in and surrounded Equis.

“Are you ok Friend Equis?” Starfire asked concerned.

“Yeah dude you took a heavy hit.” Beastboy said.

“Man you took that hit better like a test dummy.” Speedy said.

“Really sorry about that Equis are you in pain?” Bumblebee asked with a deep concern.

“You took it better than anyone are you sure your human?” Aqualad said trying to make Equis smile which he succeeded.

“Do you want something to drink? I can make some tea that has healing properties and relaxant in it.” asked Raven.

Equis couldn’t help but snicker at the looks on their faces. Which in turn made them look at him like he was going insane.

“Sorry guys but its just I’m not used to people caring if I’m okay or not and the looks on your faces are just priceless.” Equis snorted out while trying to breath.

“Yup he’s fine.” Bumblebee said with a smile.

Equis looked around and noticed Wally (Kid Flash) was over in the corner sulking. And Equis did not like that one bit.

“Hey Wally you can come closer than that. I wont bite unless you ask me to.” Equis said with a chuckle at the end.

Wally in turn looked up and walked over with a solemn look on his face. The other titans moved out of the way for Kid Flash. Once Kid Flash was at Equis’s bed side the others looked at each other and left the room leaving Equis and Kid Flash alone. Equis looked up at Kid Flash and asked…

“Hey what’s the matter did I do something wr-” Equis didn’t get a chance to finish because he was embraced by Kid Flash.

“I’m sorry that you got hurt. It was my fault for letting you take the tests.” Kid Flash cried into Equis’s shoulder.

Equis reached up and started to rub Kid Flash’s back in a circular motion trying to calm him down.

“You do not need to apologize, I was the one who agreed to the tests so it is my own fault not yours.” Equis said in a soothing voice.

Kid Flash looked up into Equis’s beautiful eyes. Equis was about to say something when he was silenced by Kid Flash. His warm lips were pressed against Equis’s and he was in pure bliss. The silver haired teen froze at the sudden contact but then relaxed a moment later and tilted his head to deepen the kiss. Equis smiled back and thanked them all for letting him become a titan. And when they were all done congratulating him they left. Kid Flash was still at his side and gave him a kiss, not like ‘I wanna do it now’ kiss but a sweet and gentle one. They parted and looked at each other for a moment and Wally said.

“Congratulations Equis, welcome to the team.” with that he turned and left to let Equis get some rest. Equis laid down and looked at the ceiling going over what just happened in his mind and for once feeling happy and content. After a few minutes he felt sleep start to creep up and he just let it claim him and dozed off into his dreams. And just before he fell asleep he thought to himself ‘For once my reality is better than my dreams.’ with that he fell asleep. Equis couldn’t wait to wake up and see what the morning would bring.
