Robin sat in a chair next to Raven’s bed for a few hours. He was up and about a few days earlier but had decided to keep an eye on Raven, despite protests from Starfire. Robin found himself unable to tear his eyes from the dozing Raven. He noted the way her chest rose and fell, the way her soft hand clutched to the sheet as if she were fighting for her life. He even noted the way her nostrils flared when she took a breath and the way her lips would part when she exhaled. His hand crept to hers and lightly stroked the center of her palm with his index finger, loving the soft texture of it.
Raven moaned and tilted her head towards him, her eyes opening slightly. Everything was a blur, so she blinked several times. The image of Robin sitting by her came into view, and her lips parted with a half smile.
Robin sat up straight and watched her sleepily wake from her slumber. She gripped his hand and it forced him to look at it. She had a grip for some one who just woke up.
“Raven?” He asked softly, leaning over her a little.
“Mmm?” She hummed, smacking her lips a little.
Robin felt a chill run up his spine as her tongue darted out, wetting her luscious lips. He had to tear his eyes away from her before he got another erection, which he had been getting frequently since he woke up the first time.
“How are you feeling? It’s been a few days.”
“I’m tired.” She laughed a little, he laughed with her.
They sat in silence for a little before Raven tried to pull herself into a sitting position. Robin placed a hand on her back and helped her, moving the pillows to support her body. Raven watched him work behind her diligently, how long had he been there? Where was Starfire?
“Want some tea?” Robin asked, standing up straight and smiling at her.
Before she could answer he walked out of the room, humming a random pop tune. Raven leaned back and noticed how soft he had made her pillows. She couldn’t help but smile at the thought of him caring for her. Raven looked around and saw a book at the edge of the bed. She focused, trying to levitate the book to her. Nothing happened. Raven squirmed in her bed and concentrated again. Nothing. She started getting worried and turned her attention to the door, trying to open it with her mind. Nothing.
Raven looked at her hands and stifled a sob, what happened to her? She looked at the book again and strained her mind, the book moved a little but fell to the floor. Raven leaned back, panting hard. Robin walked in and saw her unnerved look. He rushed to her side, ignoring some blistering pain from the tea that spilt on his hand.
“Raven, what’s wrong?”
“My powers…” She whispered, tearing up, “They’re gone.”
Robin and Raven sat in silence for a long time. Neither stared at each other, Robin eventually handed her the mug and watched her sip at it lightly.
“We’ll find out what happened, promise.” Robin finally said, watching the sips of tea trail over her lower lip, her tongue licking the remnants off her lip.
Raven looked at him, his attention fully on her. Why didn’t she feel flustered as she always did, there was something different about him. She didn’t need her powers to figure that out….

Raven continued to fight with the Titans until she proved that without her abilities she was more of a liability than helpful. Cyborg had suggested she stay behind in the tower, directing them to the next locations of disturbances. She knew Cyborg was capable of doing such duties himself, but he wanted to give her something to do, to keep her hopes up.
Robin, on the other hand, was doing better than he had ever done. He was faster on foot than Starfire was in the air and his battle techniques reigned supreme in battles against large groups of villains, even one on one battles. He had so much adrenaline in his system that he became eager to fight for any reason whatsoever.
Cyborg had told him that his adrenaline levels were dangerous and he needed to find another outlet, preferably a calmer one. Robin ignored him and felt on top of the world…until he returned to the Titan Tower and saw Raven.
Each time his heart would drop and he would feel compelled to go over to her and kiss her passionately. He felt as if he’d die if she gave him another one of her half smiles, if she touched him when she handed him a coffee mug. Robin would suddenly become nervous around her when they were alone, his eyes always on one part of her body.
Starfire had noticed Robin’s sudden change in habits, he no longer came to her room at night wanting to get raunchy between the sheets. He barely paid her any attention when they were in the Tower. She narrowed her eyes as he sat at the table and stared at Raven, longing lust clouding his eyes. She looked at Raven who was busy busting the counter top and making him a fresh cup of coffee.
“I will get the substance of the cow for Robin.” Starfire said loudly, stopping all commotion in the tower.
Raven nodded and placed the coffee down in front of Robin. Starfire made her way to the fridge, pushing past Raven in a rude way. Raven leaned against the table and got her hand crushed in a drawer. She pulled her hand out and shook it, mouthing “Ow.” Starfire pulled the creamer from the top tray and walked lightly to Robin, yet again moving Raven from his view.
She noticed his gaze always drifted to Raven. She cleared her throat lightly, bringing Robin back to look at her.
“No thanks, Star. I like my coffee black.” He said, waving his hand away and picking up the cup as if it were a treasure and sipped it.
“But Robin, you always have the substance of the cow with your black water.” Starfire protested, shaking the container lightly.
“I think I’m changing my preference.” He replied getting up, leaving her to wonder if he was talking about her or the creamer.

Raven was in the communication center fiddling with the computer. She knew nothing about electronics, which further supported her point that Cyborg just wanted her to feel included. She groaned as the computer shut off on her again. Sliding back in her chair she got down on all fours and crawled under the table to take a look at the wiring.
Robin walked in and his eyes were instantly glued to her behind that was jutting out from under the table. He licked his lips and wiped his mouth, watching her backside wiggle from her efforts to get under the computer.
“Raven?” He finally asked with a croaking cough.
Raven shot up and hit her head hard on the table. She cursed and pulled out, sitting on her heels, rubbing her head as she looked at him.
“Sorry.” Robin apologized extending his hand and helping her rise from the ground.
As she got up her cloak got caught under a piece of table and she found herself stuck.
“I got it.” Robin said, bending down, his hand tugging at the material.
“Wait I got it.” Raven replied, moving down to his level and trying to tug it free.
They laughed when they couldn’t pull it free and looked at each other. They hadn’t noticed how close they were to one another. Robin looked at her lips and then in her eyes and she did the same. He took a breath and told himself to be bold. Robin left her cloak forgotten and caressed her cheek and moved his hand to the back of her head, pulling her mouth to his.
Raven didn’t hesitate, as he thought she would, but leaned into the kiss. Her snagged cloak was forgotten as they attacked each other’s mouths. Robin pressed his lips hard against her, his tongue tracing her bottom lip. Raven moaned unintentionally from the kiss, her lips parting enough for his tongue to explore more.
Robin’s tongue moved around her mouth before coming into contact with hers, both played lightly. His hand gripped harder onto the back of her head, pushing his mouth as hard as he could, trying to get as much as he can. Raven groaned and moved her hand to his wrist, prying his fingers from the back of her head. She pulled back lightly and stared at him.
Her lips were wet and puffy, as were his. They blushed and she stood, forgetting about her cloak. It ripped and she groaned, holding up the torn area of her cloak. Robin stood afterwards and moved his hands to her waist, pulling her closer.
“Robin, don’t.” Raven whispered as his mouth came down on hers again.
She rested her arms on his arms, her head was tilted as far as it could to meet his lips. Robin’s bottom lip massaged her bottom lip, his tongue moving against hers roughly. Raven frowned as the door opened and tried to pull away, but Robin held her against him.
“Robin?”
Robin tore himself from Raven and turned around to see Starfire standing at the door, her mouth wide open. Raven backed away and combed her fingers through her hair, Robin stayed where he was.
“Star, I can explain.” He said, lurching himself back into reality.
“Explain why you had your tongue down Raven’s mouth? Did you lose something?”
“It was a mistake.”
Raven felt her heart drop and looked down, Robin turned and looked at her, noticing how down she became.
“I mean…” He quickly said, knowing he had sunk himself into a deeper hole.
Part of him was saying to forget Starfire and go for Raven, she was what he needed. The other part reasoned with him, he was dating Star and should be faithful no matter how good of a kisser Raven was.
The room was quiet in an awkward silence. Starfire’s eyes started watering and she rushed from the room. Robin extended a hand and called for her to come back. He turned to Raven and opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out.
“Don’t worry Robin.” Raven said suddenly, “I won’t take it personally.”
She pushed past him and rushed to her room, locking it once she was inside. She slid down the door and cried, feeling used and vulnerable.
Robin slammed his fists on the counter, watching the computer suddenly boot on. He wiped his mouth and looked at the open door. To go to Raven, whom he just shared the best kiss of his life, or to Starfire, whom he was romantically linked with.
