Chapter 2

“You must go back to the Titan Tower and convince them that you were being controlled by... ME! You must make them accept you and allow you back into their ranks. They will not trust you at first, but you have to gain that trust. Do not worry, you did it before, I’m sure you can do it again.” Slade explained to Terra as he walked out of the cave leaving Terra curled up in a ball crying.

‘I cannot do this. They will never allow me back. But if I don’t try, Slade will kill me…or worse, keep me alive’ Terra buried her face in her hands and continued to sob. ‘How could I be so stupid? Look what I’ve gotten myself into…the Titans will never trust me again… How could I ever face them again? They would destroy me the second they see me.’ Terra thought.
After a few hours of lying on the cave ground, Terra finally had enough energy to get up, put on her clothes and stagger out of the cave. She had stayed there all night and the new day’s sun was beginning to rise. She looked over at the horizon and could see the “T” and she thought to herself, ‘T marks the spot.’ As she made a boulder spring to life, swift her off her feet and carry her towards her target.

** Back in the Titan Tower**
“What do you think happened to Terra?” Beast boy asked.

“Do not mention her name EVER again!” Robin yelled.
‘How could I have been so stupid? How could I have trusted someone so unstable? We barely knew anything about her and still I let her be one of us.’ He thought. “DAMNIT!” Robin and punched the back of the sofa.

“Robin, you must not anger yourself, we all made a mistake trusting her, but she is gone now.” Star said, trying to ease Robin.

“She’s right man, don’t get all worked up.” Cyborg patted Robin on the back.

“If you had all listened to me from the start, none of this would have happened!” Raven yelled, for she never really trusted Terra in the first place. Beast Boy started yelling at Raven for saying that and Raven yelled back and it soon turned into one huge fight between the Titans.

“ALRIGHT! ENOUGH!” We all made a mistake trusting her; no one is more at fault than anyone else!” Robin screamed. “I think we all need to take a break from each other for a while.” And with that each of the Titans went off into their bedrooms in the Titan Tower, all except Beast Boy.

‘How could you do this to me Terra?” BB thought. ‘I trusted you, I cared about you, I loved you.’ A tear came rolling down BB’s face. Just then something along the horizon caught BB’s eye.

“What is that?” Beast Boy said. As the object grew closer, Beast Boy’s jaw dropped.

“Terra? What the hell are you doing here?” He said as he prepared himself for battle.

“Take it easy BB I’m not here to fight you.” Terra said in the calmest way she could.
Beast boy stared Terra up and down and realized that she was badly hurt.

“What happened to you?” Beast Boy questioned.

“Slade… he did this to me. It was all Slade.” Terra covered her face with her hands and began to sob.

“Why would Slade do this to you? You’re his worthy apprentice, aren’t you?” Beast Boy asked.

“He was using me BB; he had me under some kind of remote control. I couldn’t choose what I wanted to do.” Terra lied.

“So... you’re not under his control anymore?” BB asked a little confused. Terra cringed at the thought of how wrong BB was.

“No, I’m not; he told me that I failed him. He beat me up and left me to die. I came to the only place I could think of… to you.” Terra said

“To me? What can I do?” BB asked, still very confused. “The Titans will never let you stay here, no matter how hurt you are.”

“Just let me explain it to them, I mean… you believe me don’t you?” Terra asked, looking up at Beast Boy.

“Well…yeah I guess. I mean, Slade isn’t known for his kind heart that’s for sure. And mind control does seem like something he would do.” BB said scratching his head.

“Oh I knew you would believe me!” Terra smiled, and ran up to BB giving him a big hug. Beast Boy froze, he decided that even know Terra’s story seemed true, he had to stay alert.

“Where are the rest of them? Robin and Star? Cyborg and Raven?” Terra said, pretending to be excited.

“Their in the tower, we had a bit of a fight a little while ago.” BB said.

“About what?” Terra asked.

“Doesn’t matter.” BB said. And with that BB picked up his Titan radio and called for Robin, Star fire, Raven and Cyborg to come back outside.

“What the hell is she doing here?” Robin said as he ran towards BB and Terra.

“Leave him alone Terra! Haven’t you done enough?” Raven said as she used her powers to make a force field around BB and pulled him towards her.

“No! Listen! It wasn’t her fault!” BB tried to explain.

“Man... listen I know you like the girl, but she’s a bad apple.” Cyborg said as he charged up his blaster.

“Please! Just listen to what I have to say!” Terra pleaded.

“Friends, let us listen to what Terra has to say…” Star Fire said.

“Thanks star…” And with that Terra started to tell the Titans a huge made up story about how Slade used mind control to get Terra to do the things she did, but when she refused to kill them he grew angry with her and decided to destroy her and search for a new apprentice. She told them of Slade beating her till she couldn’t even stand up and leaving her to die of immense loss of blood. As she told her story the Titans began to lower their weapons, and the force field around BB was also lowered and he walked towards Terra.
“I swear to you, now that I'm not under the control of Slade anymore, I am no harm to any of you.” Terra said with tears coming down her eyes.

“Cyborg, I think this is the perfect time to try out your new invention.” Robin said, turning his attention from Terra to Cyborg.

“Oh yeah! Here Terra put these on. This will stop you from being able to use your powers, we were gonna use it on the bad guys we catch, but it will also be useful for now.” Cyborg said as he started locking on bracelets to Terra’s wrists.

“You guys! She promised she wouldn’t do anything!” BB pleaded.

“No offence Terra, but your promises don’t go very far with us.” Raven said.

“Consider this, your prohibition” Robin said as Cyborg backed away from Terra and activated the bracelets.

“I’ll agree to anything, as long as you all trust me again.” Terra said, smiling. And with that the Teen Titans turned their backs to the rising sun and walked back into the Titan Tower with Terra following close behind; examining the new pieces of “jewelry” she was given.
