Disclaimer: Okay, this is, like...my first double threat disclaimer: I neither own in any means or way the Teen Titans, and the same applies to the movies series I’m attempting to cross it over with, Friday the 13th. It may be an odd combination, but I felt like I needed to do this for a long time now.
A/N: For simplicity’s sake, the Jason appearing here is the one from Freddy vs Jason. And I don’t care if all common sense says that Jason has no penis. And with that said, yes this is going to be really freakin’ disturbing. I blame Seth Turtle, for it was one of his fan fictions that made me get around to doing this. Kudos. And for the love of GOD don’t read past this if you’re squeamish.
It was a Tuesday in Crystal Lake. Tuesdays were never good days in this place.
It seemed that almost every Tuesday something really bad happened, like a cat got run over, or a person went missing, or someone’s laundry went pink…or a person went missing. This fact was not lost on the Sheriff, a man named Tomas Jones. He was new to this post, and he was learning to hate every minute of it. It was bad enough that Crystal Lake police officers are poorly paid, but they tend to die rather quickly, when “Jason” reappeared.
Of course, his day was just getting started.
THAT was when he met the Teen Titans. His first thought was simple, and succinct: ‘God hates me.’
Then the kid with the spiked hair starting talking, and Sheriff Jones started listening.
*****
“So, you and your friends are here to…uhm, help us with this missing persons thing?” the man blinked curiously, his hat slung low over his face to block the annoyingly bright rays of the sun from his sensitive eyes.
Robin nodded, his arms crossed over his chest. “Right…we were contacted by someone in the city who wanted us to look into some of our citizens disappearing around here.”
The sheriff snorted. “That usually means one thing son…”
“And that is?”
“Jason.”
“I..don’t follow you.”
“What? No one told you? Christ…well, this could take awhile…anyone up for pie?” This earned him a few ‘ooh ooh’s, and a ‘sure.’ “Okay then…”
*****
About five minutes later, everyone was pilled into a booth at the local diner, some of them chewing on their pie. Beast Boy in particular was chewing away at it like there was no tomorrow, Cyborg was alternating between bites and staring, and Starfire was inhaling hers. Raven declined the pie, and Robin just poked at his with his fork, waiting in irritation.
“Isn’t it about time you tell us who this Jason is?” he finally asked, sighing a little. The sheriff gave him an odd look, then shrugged a little himself.
“Well, first of all, it’s not who, but what, Jason is. He was just a boy in the sixties, a mentally handicapped one at that…when he drowned. For the first time.”
“The...first time?” Starfire blinked curiously. “I thought that all creatures only died once.”
“Well, not this creature. Jason stayed dead till the 80s, mind. Then his mother started killing off all the people who worked at the summer camp where he drowned. Then…she got her head chopped off by one of her intended victims.” He let all this sink in, his casual manner not helping the horrified expressions creeping onto the faces of four of the Titans.
“That was when that ugly sumbitch came back from the dead, and started killing everything that entered those woods. Then he got killed by a kid named Jarvis. But apparently he came back again, and everything started up again. I dare say he’s got a least 200 hundred victims we know about, and a whole bunch we don’t.”
“My God…” Robin whispered, his eyes opened wide at not only the horror of all those deaths, but at the casual way the law officer before them spoke about it, sipping on his coffee and eating some pie.
“Mhmm…but God don’t have nothin’ to do with it, son….some say the man’s a demon now…that can’t be killed, no matter what…ruthless, unstoppable, and good at what he does…killin’.” The man scooped up the last of his pie with a fork, and stuffed it into his mouth, and took out his wallet. “How’s about I cover for y’all this time, and later you can treat me to a dinner ‘r something?”
“Sure thing, officer.” Cyborg nodded, and offered one of his hands, which received a polite handshake. As the officer left, leaving the Titans behind, he turned and looked back over his shoulder.
“And one more thing….don’t go out at night…”
On that bit of cryptic information, he finally pushed the door open with a jingle, and walked outside, putting his hat back on his head.
“Uhm…does anyone else think we may have stumbled across something that’s too much for us?” Beast Boy asked, tapping his plate with his fork. Starfire nodded a little, her fork still in her mouth, as it had been ever since the topic went to Jason. Robin wore that pensive, almost obsessive look he’d worn ever since Slade had appeared for the first time, his eyes narrowed dangerously.
“It doesn’t matter…” he finally spoke, going to stand but having to pass over Beast Boy’s lap, thus causing a small moment where the dark haired teen was on the other boy’s lap.
“Uh, say what?” Cyborg blinked, his electronic eye zooming in on Robin for a moment, doing a light scan of him, checking his heart rate, pulse, and body temperature.
“We’re involved, and that’s all that matters now.”
“Hooo-boy…”
****
And so it came to pass that at about six o’clock the Titans were driving their way towards the ruins of Camp Crystal Lake with Beast Boy singing an awful rendition of a rap song, and Raven with her fingers in her ears, and a pained look on her face. “Someone please…shut him up…” she almost begged in a deadpanned voice, blinking a few times before Robin reached back and gave the green youth a little slap to the forehead.
“Ow!”
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
After that, things settled down, and they found themselves amongst a circle of a rotting cabins, all covered with moss and a mild stench of decay in the air.
“Well, who else thinks this place is nasty?” BB finally said as he looked around, a strange look on his face. “Seriously, dudes…this place reeks.”
“We got that impression the first time…” Raven scowled, her hood pulled down over her eyes, and her arms crossed over her chest as she floated lightly above the ground, her dark purple eyes flitting about. “There’s definitely something…otherworldly here. I can practically smell it amid the stink of ruin here.”
Starfire had her hands clasped tightly to her chest, a worried expression on her face. “My friends, I am feeling most anxious to be out of here as soon as possible.”
”You’re not the only one…” Cyborg muttered under his breath as he looked down at one of his LED displays, which was showing a mini-map of their current positions. During all this, Robin was off to the side, poking amidst the foliage with his Bo-staff. He paused after a moment then shivered lightly.
“I found something….”
The others all crowded around him, and saw what he saw: a bloody combat knife with a few small pieces of skin stuck in the grooves.
“Oh my…”
“Cripes…”
“Hmm.”
*****
Unbeknownst to the teenagers, something was watching them as they skulked about the old campgrounds, something dark….something evil.
And this evil….wore a yellowed and battered hockey mask and held tightly onto a bloody machete, its chest rising and falling with anger and hatred.
‘Kill….Kill….Kill….Kiiiiiiill…’ the voices inside his head went, turning into a ‘Ki ki ki’ sound as they went faster and faster, driving him to move forward, before something stopped him, and he instead moved back, watching patiently, and waiting for his new target….the empath.
****
And above the beast, standing on a tree limb and watching all with one cold eye, was the man…Slade. He watched everything with a certain interest, the mark of his forehead glowing for a moment, before it stopped, going back to its normal blood-red color, and he made a small, dry sound like a chuckle.
“Well, this will be quite a show, won’t it?”
