Girls’ Night Out- Part 2
Chapter 15: Showdown

Through partially opened and still blurry eyes Lasso Girl could just make out two glowing red embers staring back at her from the darkness.
“It’s Superman! Alexandra, drain him dry!”
“On it.”
In a blur the female parasite rocketed toward the shadow clad figure with her arms outstretched, hungrily awaiting contact. She could already feel the rush of adding the Man of Steel’s powers to her own.
“Come to Alexandra, supersh—”
A sound akin to a wrecking ball smashing into a building sent a shockwave reverberating through the air as the female parasite’s body suddenly went flying backward like a torpedo. Even with her stolen abilities she could do nothing to slow her momentum before crashing into then through the back concrete wall of the hangar.
Lasso Girl blindly fired off red sun energy blasts toward the intruder, hoping to land a lucky shot, before barking commands to her comrades.
“Tangle, Lace, plan beta! Don’t let them get to the prisoners!”
Batman nimbly somersaulted backward over a pile of crates, narrowly dodging a volley of tranquilizer darts as they imbedded themselves in the wood. He reached back to a compartment in his utility belt and produced a batarang before pressing a button in its center. It began emitting a quiet beeping sound that gradually grew more urgent. There was only going to be one shot at this. He had to make it count.
Still handicapped by her limited vision, Lasso Girl slowly picked her way towards him. Even with her temporary impairment there was no way he would even be able to scratch her. The Dark Knight popped up from behind cover and flung the projectile with pinpoint accuracy, watching as it hit home and latched onto her chest.
The silver clad villainess laughed amusedly.
“Ha! Your pathetic toys aren’t going to slow me dow—aaghh!!!”
A spider web of crackling blue energy radiated out from the batarang forming a net that tightly encased Lasso Girl’s body inside. Her metallic suit began to freeze up and harden rendering her completely immobile as she helplessly toppled backward like a tipped over statue.
“Wh-what did you do to me?”
“We took a detour to STAR Labs before coming here. The very same place you stole that power suit from. They gave us the specs on it and were more than happy to help me come up with this mini EMP device to short circuit your new toy. Then I simply attached it to a batarang coated with a special adhesive solution.”
“This isn’t over yet, Batman.”
He ignored her and hurried toward Supergirl. She must’ve been bound with kryptonite ropes, he reasoned. And if he could just untie and separate her from them long enough, her powers would slowly return. Then hopefully she would be able to lend them a hand.

Still stunned from the initial ferocious attack, Alexandra slowly picked herself up from the concrete rubble and took to the air again. The hit was unlike any other she had ever experienced. The sheer force behind it was simply mind boggling.
But Superman wasn’t going to get the drop on her a second time. She turned on the speed of Mercury and dodged a right hook as she grabbed hold of his fist and forearm.
“What?!”
Instead of touching his skin she felt cold, unyielding metal instead. Now up close she was able to see what the darkness had disguised earlier. Superman was decked out in a thick, bulky metallic suit of armor slightly resembling a medieval knight. Even his head was shielded with a full visored helmet and there was a strange glowing yellow light emitting from inside the suit.
“Thought you would try that,” he said clamping down on her wrist with a vice like grip. “Not this time- or ever again, Alexandra!”
He waylaid her with a titanic punch that sent her crashing down to earth. Her head swimming, Alexandra barely rolled out of harm’s way as he followed up with a blow that cratered the floor. She desperately lashed out, landing a solid kick to his “S” shield emblazoned chest plate that he easily shrugged off.
Something was wrong, she thought groggily. Besides the armor there was something different about him. Superman seemed…noticeably stronger than before. Even though she had freshly drained Captain Marvel’s powers, her strength didn’t seem to faze him. They should be about evenly matched in power and speed but he was noticeably a few levels above her.
With his new protective gear, draining him was not an option and he was already bearing down on her again like a tank. She struck at him again only to connect with thin air while he seemingly disappeared from her sight. But that was impossible. No one could move that fast. Superman instantaneously reappeared from behind, locking his arms around her slender waist, before taking to the air.
It was hard to think through the haziness in her mind but finally it came to her. Although he was covered from head to toe, his helmet contained a vulnerable spot. The visor, even if it was made with bulletproof glass, would still be easily breakable thus giving her an opening to make contact with his skin. After that she would be able to drain him enough to at least allow her time to rip the rest of the armor off- and then she could really feed. She began desperately thrashed about in his iron clad grip, fighting to somehow create some space.
Wanting to end the fight as quickly as possible, the Man of Steel flew his opponent up near the 50 foot ceiling before flipping them both upside down and rushing her head first toward the ground at breakneck speed. Once on the descent, the villainess finally wriggled her arm free and threw a precisely aimed elbow backward. But the lack of leverage and the hastiness of the blow didn’t shatter his protective head gear as she had hoped, though it was enough to make a sizable crack in the visor.
Sensing what she was trying to do, Superman released his hold at the last second as he successfully plowed her headfirst into the ground, throwing up large slabs of concrete in every direction.
“H-how…?” she asked weakly, staring up from the mangled floor.
“I had a friend at STAR Labs modify the suit I use when traveling in space into battle armor. He also made a few improvements like adding the mini solar lamps built inside that bathe me in constant artificial yellow sun rays. Thanks to that my powers are nearly doubled.”

As Batman closed in on Kara, another hail of tranquilizer darts rained down from above. He raised is cape, using its thick material to shield his body while zig zagging left and right to dodge the rest. When the torrent finally stopped, presumably so they could reload, he returned fire, scattering batarangs into the rafters. His two assailants easily avoided them and gracefully flipped down to the ground blocking his path.
“Ah, ah,” said Tangle waving a finger at him. “It’s not going to be that easy.”
Batman raised his arms and fell back into a fighting stance.
The two gorgeous women nodded to one another as they sprang into action. Gracefully moving in tandem, their actions seamlessly blended and flowed into the other’s as they attacked their adversary in a confusing dance. The melding of their fighting styles proved difficult to read even for a seasoned martial artist while their amazing acrobatic skills only added to it.
Batman shifted his weight, staying on the balls of his feet, as he tried to gauge exactly when and where the combined flipping, whirling tornado was going to strike. At the last moment he managed to side step a kick from Lace only to be blindsided with a roundhouse kick to the jaw from Tangle on the opposite side.
He wiped away a trickle of blood from the corner of his lip, tasting the bitter tang it left on his tongue. The way they moved made it seem like more than eight limbs were coming at him. He cautiously stayed on the defensive, avoiding and blocking several blows, waiting for a chance to strike.
“What’s wrong, Bats? You don’t seem like you want to play with us,” taunted Tangle.
It was the opening he had been looking for. He feigned a straight right punch and instead threw out a low sweeping kick that caught Lace behind the knee. As she dropped down he shot in closer for a deciding blow but was immediately forced back as Tangle spring boarded off her partner’s back, landing a leaping boot to his stomach.
The reinforced padding in the suit took off some of the impact allowing him to recover swiftly. Rethinking his earlier defensive strategy, the superhero lashed out with a powerful roundhouse kick.
The duo quickly separated, narrowly avoiding the attack as they whirled into position to retaliate. Tangle moved first, striking with a looping kick that wrapped around Batman’s raised forearm guard and struck home to his temple. As he reeled back from the blow, Lace seized his wrist and pulled him forward, slamming her knee into his gut.
Stunned and with the wind forced form his lungs, the Dark Knight dropped to his knees. Their martial arts skills had improved significantly from their previous fight. He realized now that he had taken them too lightly.
Not giving their opponent time to gather himself, Tangle quickly uncoiled a thin but strong wire from her wrist bracelet, tossing the other end to Lace. The two women nimbly cart wheeled through the air on either side of the dazed hero catching him in between before doubling back, successfully snaring him in the line. With Batman trussed up like a Christmas ham, Tangle detached a slim five inch long cylindrical rod from her utility belt.
“Not so tough now, are ya?” she grinned. “You know you aren’t the only one who’s picked up some high tech gadgets lately.”
With a flick of her wrist the telescoping rod extended outward nearly doubling in size. She then tapped a button hidden in its base before burying it in the small of his back. A high voltage jolt of electricity coursed through Batman’s body causing his back to arch as he yelled in pain before pitching forward.
It felt like every muscle in his body was on fire and seizing up tightly. Fighting to regain motor function, he managed to roll over on his back only to receive another shocking surprise, this time to his chest. The jolt only served to tighten his ligaments and tendons even more, stretching them like a drum.
Tangle feigned a frown.
“Oh, I don’t think he likes the tazer very much, Lace.”
“No I don’t think he does. But let me try it on him this time just to be sure.”
Bound and stunned, the Caped Crusader could only watch helplessly as the raven haired beauty malevolently waved the rod over his crotch. Her eyes grew wide revealing her insidious intent.
“Hmm…how about I see what this thing does to your—”
Lace abruptly left his line of sight, quickly followed by Tangle, as a wooden crate smashed into the both of them sending pieces of rotted wood flying everywhere. The two women tumbled end over end landing next to each other in a heap.
“It looked like you could use a hand,” commented Superman.
He effortlessly shredded the tightly strung wire binding Batman before hauling him to his feet.
“Come on we have to get our friends out of here. You get Lois and I’ll untie Kara.”
The Dark Knight nodded, still regaining his composure. The numbing feeling in his muscles and joints was slowly but surely dissipating.
“We have to hurry before the EMP device I used on Lasso Girl wears off.”
They each raced off in opposite directions, wanting to get the hostages out of harms way before they could be put in further danger.

“Don’t worry, Lois, we’re getting you out of this place,” said Batman as he finished sawing through the ropes.
The pretty brunette smiled, looking more grateful and relieved than anything.
“Thank god you two found us. I was worried about what those fashion challenged bimbos were going to do to us.”
He took her by the arm and started to head toward a back up elevator to the surface when something strange caught his eye. He paused and examined it closer. Lois was wearing an ice blue crystal pendant around her neck in the shape of a dragon. But what was she doing with it?
“Wait, where did you get this? It belongs to Celeste.”
“How nice of you to notice, Bats.”
The pendant began radiating ominously as she casually raised her arm, lifting Batman several feet into the air. He struggled and kicked against an unseen force that could not be denied. It seized him like a giant invisible hand tightening its grip by the second.
“Never underestimate the element of surprise, eh Batman?”
He watched in horror, unable to speak, as “Lois” began shifting and morphing before his eyes. First her body shape and clothes changed and then finally her face. Celeste smiled at his bewildered expression, taking delight in her little ruse.
“And now for my next trick…”
With a small movement of her hand she sent the superhero careening on a one way trip into a nearby concrete wall. He smacked violently face first against it before sliding down and crumpling motionless to the floor.
*******************************
Superman easily snapped the plethora of thick chains and kryptonite laced ropes draped around Supergirl as he helped her to her feet. He was thankful his lead lined armor effectively shielded him from their dangerous effects.
“Are you alright, Kara?” he asked with great concern.
She tried taking a step forward on rubbery legs.
“Y-yeah… I think I’ll be okay, Kal. It’s just those ropes…They weakened me quite a bit.”
“Don’t worry. We’re all getting out of here.”
As he turned, Supergirl gently took his large hand between both of hers, stopping him in his tracks. She stared up at him with large azure eyes, a look of uncertainty adorning her pretty face.
“Wait, Kal, there’s something I have to tell you first.”
“What is it? Are you sure you’re alright?”
Her angelic expression abruptly darkened, a cruel smirk replacing her once warm smile.
“I already told you I’m fine.”
Before he could react, Supergirl wound up and smashed her fist into his face with a resounding boom, effectively shattering his protective helmet. Pieces of glass and metal went flying as she grabbed hold of his arm and whirled him around with hurricane speed before sending him hurtling through a large pile of crates and ricocheting off the ceiling.
“Too bad I can’t say the same for you, Kal.”
