Frail (XV) Finale

Alerra/ Diana were silent on the Javelin as they entered earth’s atmosphere.
Shayera saw her turn to around to look back at her and the others.
Jonn sat across from Diana and could hear her chanting something. Shayera bent over as heat invaded her body. Gl undid his seatbelt and held her and watched her wings begin to grow back at a rapid rate of speed. Flash made a sound of pain as his face began to heal. Jonn stopped his attempt to stop Alerra when the blond sorceress took control of Diana and it was her face that was showing. Shayera calmed and extended her wings and looked at Alerra. Flash removed the bandage and touched his face. It was healed.
Alerra relinquished power and Diana was once again herself.

Gotham
Gretchen tried to make the purple portal go away but it just got bigger and bigger.
“Stupid necklace” She tried to pull it off but couldn’t.
Fires and destruction littered Gotham.
Batman peeked around the corner to see Gretchen hovering in the air trying to remove the necklace.
Shayera gripped her mace. “What she doesn’t want it now?”
Alerra took control. “She is an idiot and now that she can’t control it she wants it off.”
Gretchen saw them.
“Help me get it off Please.” She began to land.
Diana/Alerra moved forward. Gretchen smiled at her. “I’m sorry look at what it did to this city I tried to stop it but couldn’t”
Alerra grabbed the necklace. Lightening lit the sky.
Gretchen smiled and whipped around knocking Shayera into the wall.
Alerra punched her ripping the necklace from her neck.
Gretchen roared at her and tried to get it back. Alerra became airborne and secured the necklace under her uniform. Gretchen tackled her in the air and the battle began.
Gl helped Shayera stand. “Are you okay?”
“Yes.” The portal became larger and the one the necklace had called began to step through.
“Come on we can’t let it through” Superman said taking flight the others followed.

Gretchen slammed Alerra into the wall. “You are useless and the master will kill you for your betrayal.”
Alerra grabbed. Gretchen by the neck and forced her back.
Gretchen’s tail tried to slam into Diana’s stomach but it slid off.
Alerra connected with an uppercut and sent the woman flying to the ground.
The sky became dark and the flying beasts filled the sky.
Alerra gasped when she saw the dragons approaching her.
“Diana!” Batman yelled as the yellow flame came at her.
A green shield came around them and a few bat grenades made the dragon change its course.
Alerra was then tackled by Gretchen who reached her hand into the Amazon’s suit. And they rolled on the ground for control of the necklace. The scenery changed from destruction to calm several different times. Flash sent several of the winged creatures back through the portal. “I hope they make up their mind this it making me dizzy.”
Gretchen’s fist slammed into Alerra’s face and she pulled the necklace away and flew off.
< If you don’t let me help you she will win. >
< You could get hurt Amazon. >
< Or worse it could come through and we all will die.>

“Lois I don’t think you should go.”
Lois lane looked skyward to see Superman swatting dragons away and other winged creatures.
“I have to see him Jimmy.”
Jimmy grabbed him. “You are not thinking clearly Lois.” She kicked him in the groin and ran towards the battle.

Gretchen threw a fire ball at Batman and he flipped away from it. “You want escape this Batman.” She made the next fire ball bigger.
A red boot slammed into her face and Gretchen flew in to the destroyed building behind her. The portal got bigger.
Gretchen came from the rubble and tried to fly away. Diana went after her. The foot of the unnamed one came through and crushed some cars on the ground. Diana grabbed Gretchen’s foot and swung her around into a building. Alerra’s tail whipped into the chest of the serial killer and Gretchen began to grow old and weak.
< Take the necklace Amazon. > Diana grabbed the necklace and they were airborne to the top of a building.
Diana fell to ther knees as Alerra began to separate from her.
The unnamed ones other foot came through the portal.
Alerra fell to the ground when she separated from the Amazon. Diana stood feeling her powers again.
< Crush the necklace… hurry. .>
Diana squeezed her hand and the necklace shattered. An inhuman cry came from the unnamed creature and the portal closed and disappeared. The flying creatures melted away as did the fires but the destruction stayed.

Lois walked through the rumble and towards the superheroes but heard a faint voice. She walked towards a demolished building and saw an old woman there.
“Are you alright?” Lois said helping her sit up.
Gretchen smiled and opened her eyes. Her tail slammed into Lois’s chest and she invaded her body.
A sword appeared in her hand. “Let us take revenge for the master.”

Diana looked down at her teammates on the ground and smiled.
Alerra made a sound as she began to recover from the split. Diana kneeled beside her.
“Are you alright?”
Alerra smiled. “I will be soon.”
“I will help you down.” She helped Alerra stand and they moved to the edge of the building.
Lois crept up behind them. Gretchen moved the sword towards Alerra but the human took over and pointed it towards Diana.
< No I want Alerra. >
It was like everything was in slow motion. Alerra saw the blade come through the Amazon’s body and they began to fall from the rooftop. She could hear the screaming from below and see Superman rush over to save them from impact. Alerra’s wings appeared and slowed their descent.
Kal held Diana in his arms once they were on the ground. Diana took two breaths and did not breathe again.
“No” Kal buried his head in her neck. Shayera cried in GL’s arms.
Alerra looked at the league in tears even Batman. She crawled to the Amazon and began to chant but was thrown back to the ground in rejection. She tried again and was again thrown back. Alerra lowered her head listening to the tears of sadness from them.
She heard the footsteps and raised her head to see who had come.
Lois stood several feet from them watching.
“I wanted to kill you but this human struck her.”
Gretchen separated from Lois and fell to the ground exhausted.
Gl pointed his power ring at Gretchen and disintegrated her.
Lois leaned against the building. “She is a lair.”
Alerra frowned. “Why would she attack the Amazon when it I who can be whoever I want.”
The League looked at her. Shayera gripped her mace. Alerra looked at the Amazon. “You are jealous of her and the man you love who loves her more than you.”
Lois shook her head. “I didn’t kill her.”
Alerra stood. The winds began to pick up. “You killed her and she was my friend. She was their friend and love. You must die.”
“No”
Lois began to shake and was lifted from the ground by Alerra’s sorcery. Lois began screaming as heat filled her body and it began to swell until it exploded.
Kal did not raise his head from Diana’s neck.
“Thanagarian”
Shayera was still crying in Gl’s arms.
Alerra again called her by the race name but received no answer.
“Shayera”
Hawkgirl looked over at the back of the standing blond sorceress. The sword appeared in her hands.
They heard her chanting some words and things began to feel different. “Remember man of steel do not hesitate when you see me next.”
Kal cradled Diana in his arms and nodded.
“Do it now.” Alerra said and closed her eyes. A blinding light made everyone close their eyes.

Wayne Mansion

“Wonderwoman is it true that you and Superman are having a love affair.”
Kal heard the question and wondered where all the questions about he and Diana were coming from.
Bruce overheard the question and a feeling of anger came over him.
Diana smiled. “Superman and I are best friends and yes we love each other as friends.”
Shayera smiled at the Amazon’s perfect answer. She was always the diplomat until you pissed her off.
Bruce saw Kal smile at her as their eyes met.
“I secretly think Batman has a thing for her.” His date said to him.
“Really, why do you say that?”
“Call it a women’s intuition.”
Bruce smiled down at her. “You may be right.”

A beautiful woman with blond hair approached the group surrounding the uniform clad Goddess.
Flash watched her walk by him and frowned as if he didn’t have enough adoring fans. She stepped in front of the woman asking Diana a ridiculous question. Diana looked at her. Alerra smiled.
“At last I have you.”
Diana raised an eyebrow. Alerra jammed her hand between Diana’s breasts grabbing her uniform and pulling her forward towards her growing fangs.
Searing heat littered Alerra’s back and she screamed out in pain. She turned to see Superman standing ten feet away eyes red with power. She smiled at him and Kal unleashed his power.

Diana sighed in her shower. Finally she had escaped the Watch Tower with Shayera’s help. She knew they were all concerned about her safety but Kal had killed the thing after her. She turned off the water and stepped from the shower and began to dry off.
The door bell rang. Diana smiled she knew it was only a matter of time before someone came to check on her. She placed on her thick white fluffy robe and went to the door.
She smiled seeing Kal standing there in his uniform.
“Kal I am fine.”
He smiled down at her. “May I come in?”
Diana smiled and opened the door wider and Kal walked in. “So you love me as a friend.”
Diana let go of the door as he took control of it. She watched him walk closer to her. He lowered his head. “Let’s see if I can I change that.” He slowly closed the door as he pulled the shocked Amazon to his body and claimed her lips.
