“Robin!!!” Raven cried as she slipped, falling into the black hole.

A green gloved hand shot out and grabbed her wrist. It was Robin. He pulled her up and hugged her close as the hole disappeared.

“Raven…” He murmured, pulling away and standing up helping her.

Raven looked up at him, he was bleeding and beaten. She touched the R emblem on his chest and looked up at him.

“What are you doing here?” He asked, grabbing her hand and pulling it from him.

“I’m here to help you…”

“If you die in here you won’t be able to go back…leave Raven…please…”

Raven shook her head and grabbed the back of his neck, pulling him in for a kiss.

“If you go…I go…” She whispered, pulling back.

Robin smiled and hugged her. Raven felt a force wrap around her waist, pulling her away from Robin. She held onto him as he grabbed her wrists.

“Raven!!” He yelled struggling to pull her to him.

“Robin!” She yelled back, her hands slipping.

Raven floated above him, a hand appearing around her waist. Slade formed, a giant Slade. He squeezed her in his hand, making her cry out in pain. Robin held onto his side, growling at Slade.

“If you hurt her I’ll….”

“Why do you care so much about her Robin?” Slade’s voice echoed, squeezing her tightly, “She should mean nothing to you, why Robin?”

“Do you love her?” He asked, shrinking down to his normal size, Raven’s unconscious body in his arms. “Love is nothing but a worthless emotion…”

He dropped her to the ground a puff of dirt rising. Raven slowly came to, attempting to get up. Slade’s foot slammed her back into the ground.

Robin clenched his fists.

“Don’t you touch her!” He yelled, running towards Slade, his fist balled up.

Slade leaned back dodging the punch and grabbed Robin by the neck, tossing him to the side.

“What’s the matter Robin? Afraid she’ll die here and never come back?” He laughed, moving his foot to her head and crushing it into the dirt.

Raven screamed in pain, blood trickling from her body.

“Look!” Beast Boy said, pointing at Raven’s body, blood began spewing from the corner of her lips.

“We must bring Raven back!” Starfire said concerned.

“Raven knows what she’s doing, her heart rate is still normal.” Cyborg said pointing to the screen. “What is going on in Robin’s head!?”

Robin yelled and jumped at Slade, knocking him from Raven. Slade flew back and landed into the dirt. Robin rushed to Raven, picking her up in his arms.

“Raven you gotta leave…leave now!” He pleaded, holding her face in his hands.

She opened her eyes, tears flowing freely. “I’m not going anywhere.”

Raven moved forward, Robin helping her up. Slade chuckled as he stood, duplicates insantly surrounding them.

“I’m inside your mind dear Robin…I can do whatever I want now…”

Robin growled and turned his back against Raven, looking at all the duplicates. Raven readied herself, her hands and eyes glowing. Robin pulled out his bo staff and extended it.

“Let’s end this!” He yelled as the Slade doubles ran towards them.

Raven lifted into the air, throwing her hands at the ones coming towards her. “Azarath Metrion ZINTHOS!”

A giant raven shot through each of the Slades making them fall apart. Robin launced himself over one and hit him in the head with the bo staff. He swipe kicked another one and back flipped as one lunged at him. Raven moved in front of him, her eyes glowing as she tore them apart.

Raven felt dizzy and almost fainted, Robin caught her and held her in his arms.

“Raven…” He whispered, as fog began filling the area.

Robin and Raven appeared in an empty factory, Robin remembered it well. It was when he and Slade fought for the first time. Robin looked around holding Raven close to him.

“Wake up…Raven…wake up.” He pleaded, giving her a little shake.

“Now’s the time Robin. We end this right here…right now…” Slade said, walking down the metal steps.

Robin placed Raven on the floor and stood, wiping his mouth of the blood.

“You’re going down, Slade.”

Slade made the first attack, he was to eager. He punched Robin in the stomach and grabbed a fist full of hair throwing him into the wall. Robin hit the wall and grunted, falling to the grown. He knelt and looked up as Slade towered over Raven, looking down at her.

“Pity she has to die today…” He said laughing.

Robin yelled and launched himself at him, tackling him to the ground. Slade kicked him off and stood. Robin back flipped and kicked Slade in the side. He threw a rook hook and Slade went flying into the steps.

Slade continued to laugh, his eye opened and fire emitted from it. Robin maneuvered out of the way just in time.

“This isn’t real remember Robin…I can do whatever I want in here.”

He created flames so hot that the metal around them was melting. Robin backed away slowly, hitting a fire alarm. He turned around and broke it, Slade walking towards him.

“So can I.” Robin said, pulling the alarm. Water emitted from the sprinklers, quenching Slade’s flames.

Slade looked at his hands and growled, launching at Robin. He hit him in the face several times before slamming him into the wall. Robin yelled in pain, clenching his fists.

“I should have crushed you when I had the chance.”

“You won’t get a chance.”

Slade turned around and saw Raven leaning against a pillar. She held her hand out and wrapped him with her magic, throwing him like a wrecking ball around the room, his armor slowly falling to pieces.

She let him go when he was on the ground, barely able to move. She rushed over to Robin, holding his head in her arms. He opened one of his eyes and smiled at her.

“Hey, I’m supposed to be the hero…”

Raven smiled down at him, stroking his hair. She helped him up and both looked at Slade.

“Finish it.” He nodded to Raven.

She began chanting, lifting up the body of Slade and creating a vortex, sucking him in. He opened his eyes just in time and shot something out at Robin.

Raven watched as it slowly came to him and covered Robin with her body, their eyes staring at each other. She screamed and Slade was gone. Robin held onto Raven, looking down at her.

“Raven!” He shouted, pulling out some sort of needle.

“Liquid Courage…” She whispered, looking up at him, blood foaming from her mouth.

“Please! Raven!” He cried, holding her body to him.

“I love you.” She whispered, closing her eyes, her body going limp.

Cyborg watched as Raven’s pulse plummeted. He tried everything to bring her back but couldn’t. Robin shot up in his bed, screaming her name out.

He looked down and felt her grip loosen. “NO!!!!!!”

Raven’s body was like ice, she looked peaceful but had died to save him. Robin leaned over her dead body and cried, refusing to let anyone remove him from her.

“Slade did this….I’ll kill him!” He shouted at the others who backed away.

“Robin…you need to…” Starfire attempted to say but was cut off, Cyborg held onto her arm and shook his head.

They left Robin to deal with Raven’s death, all of them mourning her in their own terms…
