You are now JOHN.
This three-year trip had been very boring. Even with Jade, your friend and sort-of sister, it's still pretty boring. You have been basically living life normally, except your hurtling through what you think is space for three years. Over the year and a half you've been here, you have developed feelings for Jade. Red feelings, if you will. You've spent most of your time thinking about her. Holding hands, kissing, and sometimes even sex. But you know thinking this is wrong, but no matter how hard you try, you just keep liking Jade. She's basically your sister. But then again... She's not.You get up from your slightly uncomfortable bed. Next to you is another bed and Jade, still asleep, as usual. You pretty much have to share the same room together. You get dressed. Out of boredom, you pester your friend Dave on one of the various computers here.

EB: hi dave.
TG: hey
TG: what do you want
EB: i just woke up.
EB: and i am bored.
TG: oh right
TG: youre bored
TG: so you come to me
TG: yeah, that makes total sense
EB: shut up.
EB: jade has not woken up yet.
TG: let me get this straight
TG: you are bored and talk to me
TG: because
TG: jade hasnt woken up yet
TG: wow
TG: you totally like her
EB: no i do not dave!
EB: she is pretty much my sister!
TG: or is she
EB: just.
EB: shut up.
TG: man you gotta make the move
TG: its been long enough
TG: what... a year and a half now
EB: i am not going to "make the move!"
EB: because i do not like her!
TG: thats exactly what someone who likes a person says
TG: i can give you some expert tips on women
EB: dave stop!
EB: i do not like jade!
EB: i do not need your expert tips!
TG: whoa man chill
TG: just accept the fact that you like her
TG: and tell her
TG: itll be fine

TG: god damn it johnThat really got you mad. How would Dave know you like Jade? Looking back at previous pesterlogs, you can see that you have talked about Jade a lot to Dave. That was probably a dead giveaway, too. But maybe he was right. Maybe you should tell Jade about how you feel. No, that's what you're going to do.
"Good morning, John!" says Jade from behind you.
"Ah! Oh, hi Jade," you reply. She can catch you off guard sometimes.
"What are you doing?" she inquires.
"Oh, I was just talking Dave," you tell Jade.
"You're always talking to Dave," she notes. "What were you guys talking about?"
"Oh, nothing," you lie. Why would she want to know that? you thought.
"I see..." she says mysteriously.
You decide it's time to spill the beans. You just go ahead and tell her.
"Listen, Jade... We've been here for a while and... I uh... I... Well..." your voice trails off.
"What, John?" she asks. She has that look in her eye that tells you she can almost tell what you're about to say next.
"I... Er.... Just.... Take this!" You quickly lean in and kiss her on the lips. It seemed everything went into slow motion. You couldn't help but think "STRIIIIIIIIIIIIDEEEEEEERRRRR!!!" for Dave influencing you to do this, but this time it was your fault. You did it this time.
"John!" she says pushing back. She has a confused and almost angry look in her eye.
"I'm sorry..." you say. This is probably the stupidest thing you've ever done. "I just... I really like you." You walk away, ashamed.
"Wait, John!" Jade almost shouts to you. She runs up to you. "I really like you too!"
For a second you thought you just heard something. But the words sunk in. "Really?" you ask in astonishment. She nods then kisses you on the lips. This time it lasted longer, with nobody pushing away. You move your face back and hug Jade.
You couldn't believe your luck.
