Day 1:
-Flash, RUN!- J’onn’s voice over the communicator sounded urgent over the crackling of the fading connection. That’s why Flash decided that it was, indeed, a good idea to run. The Martian never sounded urgent. He took a millisecond to observe the charging mass of Apokoliptans that were currently charging in his direction. He hesitated for half a second, weighing his chances, and then abruptly ran directly at them. The quick change in direction and forward charge took them all by surprise, and he sped through an opening between Granny Goodness and a young woman, who he had time to observe, looked very hot wielding that double sided axe in that pink jumpsuit. He darted in and out of the crowd of lunatics, noting that there was way more of them then there should have been. Honestly, there shouldn’t have been any of them, but that wasn’t the point. Maybe if the attackers were from a different planet, and not crazed psycho killers handpicked from Apokolips, he could have taken them on and won. But with so many of these particular aliens, Flash wasn’t interested in taking chances.
As he dashed through the still confused crowd, Flash’s mind wandered to the others. Only Green Lantern, Shayera, and himself had been near enough to respond when Apokolips ships appeared out of a boom tube over Metropolis that morning. J’onn had to stay on the watchtower where he was needed to coordinate a dozen odd missions all over the world. Superman and Wonder Woman were on another planet altogether. Green Arrow, Wildcat, Black Canary, Vigilante, and another of other superhero’s that were still in the League’s Earth headquarters were fighting, but Flash had been out of the tower at the time of the attacks, finishing some work at the lab. He’s managed to fall behind as Wally West and his boss was not pleased with him. He daydreamed of revealing his identity to the bossy old man and punch him in the face, and smiled to himself. It was a nice idea, and one that would never happen. Still, it was fun to fantasize about how everyone would react if they knew the truth. He glanced back at the aliens, who were only just now turning around as he broke through the group and into open ground.
Flash’s train of though crashed abruptly as he crashed into something that for sure hadn’t been there a moment before. He ricocheted off the roadblock and stumbled a bit before falling on his ass. He jerked his head up and was stunned to see Lex Luthor and Tala standing over him with a number of other villains Flash recognized, and many more that he didn’t. Lex smiled down at him menacingly.
“Hello, Flash.” He sneered. A few of the villains chuckled at his tones and leered at him more creepily than normal. Behind him, Flash heard the Apokoliptans coming foreword and stops as the finished the circle of villains that surrounded him.
“Wha—” Flashed looked around at them all and thought fast. The Legion of Doom reinstated? And working with Granny Goodness of all people? Had Luthor made a deal of some kind with them? That must have been why they had specifically attacked the League’s headquarters. In the blink of an eye, he reached up and tapped his communicator where J’onn’s voice was still crackling in and out.
“Flash…. Whe…ats happ…”
“J’ONN, LUTHOR AND THE LEGION—“ There was a sudden blow to his head and everything went black.

J’onn had lost visual of the battle happening in Metropolis. There was some sort of energy that the attacking ships were emitting that was disrupting the pictures. He could barely contact the League members in that area, either. There was a lot of static. He was relying on the live radio reports from the news stations currently covering the battle. Louis Lane’s, as always was the most useful. He’d lost visual on the Flash who was on the other side of the city just as another ship landed near him. He closed his eyes and focused his mind on the communicator in attempt to make the connection of the communicator stronger. It was hard, there were a great many more protections on the communicators since they had been used to force League members to cage fight one another. He locked on Flash’s signal.
“Flash! The communication links are disrupted. There is a ship headed straight for you!” there was a scream of feedback and he thought he could hear a thump. “Flash!! Are you there? Where are you now? What is happening? Report—“
“J’o…..LUTHOR—“ the feedback screeched again, and then there was radio silence. The Martian frowned. The only reason that would have happened while he was amplifying the connection was if the communicator was destroyed or Flash had lost consciousness. This wasn’t good. The young hero’s odds against so many of the bloodthirsty aliens were not impossible, but they were not fortunate either. And he had mention Luthor. He frowned at the screen. Luthor was bad news as well. Likely he was taking advantage of the chaos around the city to achieve his own ends. He would send one of the others to aid Flash. If something happened to him, he feared what would follow.

Luthor leered down at the unconscious speedster as Bizzaro dragged him by the foot across the concrete of the city street and into the waiting space ship. Blood was tricking from the hero’s head wound and leaving a trail along in his wake. He would have to have Giganta stop the bleeding, head wounds always bled a lot, but he couldn’t risk the young man’s death before he’d finished Superman. He had no interest in a repeat of the Justice Lords. He had a far more sinister plan in mind to break the League’s moral. Killing Flash had, inevitably, made the hero’s stronger. More ruthless as well, yes, but regardless it had not boded well for the alternate universe version of himself. Although he wasn’t sure that this reality’s Superman wouldn’t beat him to death, anyway, once he learned of what Luthor had planned for his young ally. The old genius smiled. It was well worth the risk to break the spirit of the Justice League’s founding members. He was almost positive that they all knew each other’s identities, and were a lot closer than they showed the public. He doubted that they would even know how to react if his plan was successful. Confusion and despair were the goal. It was a lot easier to defeat an enemy if his spirit was broken.
“Tie him up before he wake up.” He ordered as he followed Bizzaro onto the ship. “Take him to the conference room. He should be disoriented at least from the head blow when he wakes up. We will just have to be especially ready until Toyman is finished making adjustments to our holding cell.”
Bizzaro grunted, and threw Flash’s unconscious body on the floor at Tala’s feet and stalked off, muttering. Luthor sighed. He often forgot Bizzaro’s difficulty in understanding complicated orders. He regarded Tala with an expression that conveyed that the orders still applied. She turned and used her magic to follow his orders. At least she could do that.
Once the hero was bound to one of the conference room chairs, the small group of villains that had followed him regarded the hero.
“Well what do we do with him now?” one of them asked. Luthor couldn’t be bothered to remember all of their names, as often as they came and went.
“C’mon! Let’s just kill him and be done with it. He’s one of the best, let’s be rid of him before he escapes, or they rescue him!” That was Sinestro, always brutish and bloodthirsty.
Luthor rolled his eyes. “No.” he said firmly. “He is extremely valuable alive. Besides, how are they going to find us? We’re in a separate dimension. Not even the Martian will be able to locate us now.” Luthor heard a slight intake of breath behind him and knew that the speedster was waking up. He turned to look at him, amused that the young man was faking sleep, doubtless trying to gather some intelligence. Fool. He had already given himself away.
“Doctor Fate will be able to figure out where we are eventually. Certainly if he teams up with other magic users within the League.” Luthor felt a twinge of anger that Tala was arguing with him. She was ever present and ever a nuisance. “Then they will find us.” She concluded, peering at him through those pale eyes.
“That will take some time.” He said, as though he was settling the matter. “And by that time, it will no longer be a problem.” No one else spoke and he regarded them with a minute. “I have a plan.” He turned back to face the captive. Flash was keeping his eyes closed, but his eyes were moving underneath the lids, quickly. The hero probably couldn’t help it, as fast as his mind and reactions were. Luthor smirked and stalked toward the young man.
Oh, he certainly did have a plan.
