Robin and the Titans buried Raven the following week. They all cried as her coffin was placed in the ground. All except Robin, he didn’t even attend the funeral. He stayed locked up in his room, despite the protests from Starfire and the other Titans for him to come out.
He sat hunched over his desk, scribbling on random sheets of paper. He felt his head with his hand and shed a single tear for her. Sitting up he looked around his room, it was littered with newspaper articles about Slade. Pictures of Slade were posted back up onto his wall.
He often threw fits and would tear them down, cursing and yelling at him for letting her die. She died in his arms, in his head. If only he was stronger.
The Titans had finally persuaded Robin from the seclusion of his room, he walked like a zombie, trained like a zombie, and acted like a zombie. Starfire and the others became worried, they had grieved all they could for their friend and they knew it was hard for him, yet he was still in a state of melancholy.
“Robin, we need to think about adding a new member…” Cyborg brought up one day, watching Robin sip from his mug and stare at the news paper.
“I think we should ask Kid Flash to join…he’s been good to the Titans and he deserves…”
“Fine.”
Cyborg held his mouth open, expecting Robin to tell him off. He closed his mouth and nodded.
“You should start thinking of the future Robin…it’s what Raven would have wanted…”
“Don’t talk about her…”
“Robin, she’s still…”
“I SAID DON’T TALK ABOUT HER!” Robin yelled from across the table, slamming his mug on the surface making it crack.
He threw his newspaper onto the table and stood, walking away. His hands dug into his pocket as he stopped by her room. Her name was still etched in the door, he stuck his hand up and lightly grazed it with his fingers.
“Robin…” A whisper echoed.
Robin looked around, feeling a gust of wind. “Raven?” He asked aloud.
“Rooobin….”
Robin went to her door and tried to pry it open.
“Rooobin….paaannnncakes….”
“What?”
“BOO!” Kid Flash appeared behind Robin, making him jump. “I totally got…”
Robin slammed Kid Flash into the wall growling. “Don’t you EVER do that….EVER!”
“Whoa…just chill…I was just…”
“You were just leaving.” Robin let him go, watching Flash dust himself off.
“I’m sorry. I thought…”
“You didn’t think.”
Kid Flash looked down feeling guilty for playing a trick on Robin, he was clearly still grieving. Flash looked up and at Raven’s door.
“Have you gone in there yet?” He asked.
“No. And no one is…it’s off limits. You’re not touching it and neither is anyone else.”
Robin crossed his arms, standing in front of the door. Flash nodded and looked down the hall, hearing Beast Boy and Cyborg.
“Well…I have to…introduce myself and such..” He extended a hand for Robin to shake it but Robin just stared at him.
“Sorry again…” Kid Flash zipped away going to find the others.
Robin sighed and leaned against her door. He closed his eyes and images of her floated in. Her hands wrapping around him, pulling him in for a kiss. Everything was almost perfect…for a few days….

Robin and the Titans resumed they outings, fighting crime and saving the world. Robin refused to have anyone tag along with him, pairing up Flash with Starfire. They separated as they chased down a few former members of HIVE.
He skidded across the ground and came to a dead end, Kid Wykkyd standing in the corner. He turned around and saw Robin. Robin pulled out his bo staff and armed himself.
“You’re not going anywhere.” He said to Wykkyd.
Kid Wykkyd transported behind Robin, kicking him in the back. Robin flipped forward and lunged at him, kicking him in the side and watching as he disappeared before he hit the wall. He appeared above him, stretching out a foot to pounce. Robin back flipped and dodged the attack. He turned around, kicking Wykkyd in the head. Wykkyd went flying into the wall, hitting it hard. Robin walked up to him, pulling out his bird-cuffs and holding them out. Wykkyd opened his eyes and kicked Robin to the ground. He moved on top of him, pressing Robin’s bo staff to his neck, crushing his air.
Robin struggled with Wykkyd who grinned at him. He kicked Wykkyd off of him and gasped for air, moving to his knees. Wykkyd towered over him, raising an arm to hit Robin in the spine, crippling him.
There was a shriek of a bird and a black force pushed its way through a wall and straight at Wykkyd who took steps back, his eyes widening. The bird engulfed Wykkyd for a brief second, making him fall to his knees and huddle together, tears running down his face.
Robin stood and looked around, was it what he thought it was. The giant bird creature rose to the sky, nearly covering the moon. Robin looked up, “Raven?” He asked to himself as the raven disappeared.
He heard a noise and a shuffle of feet. Turning around he thought he saw a white cloak disappear into the nearby alley. He rushed over and peered down it, no sign of anything. He shook his head and held a hand to it, turning back to Wykkyd and walking over to him.
He picked him up by the shirt, Wykkyd held his hands out for Robin to cuff him. His entire body was shaking and he was still crying.
The other Titans arrived to help with Wykkyd.
“Whoa what happened?” Flash asked, scratching his head as the police carted Wykkyd away in a stretcher.
“I don’t know.” Robin said truthfully, bending down and picking up a bit of cloth that got caught on a piece of metal jutting out from the side of the wall.
It was a soft white fabric; he brought it to his nose and sniffed. The distinct smell of lavender, Raven’s favorite shampoo. He pocketed it and turned to the other titans.
“Let’s get back to the tower.” He was eager to test his new theory out.
Was Raven really alive? What happened to her? He was going to find out.
