Author’s notes,
because the author can’t help but ramble a bit before he actually starts doing
anything creative. And because he wants
to make the file size of his documents look bigger than they actually are: Ok. I
was watching Teen Titans. Again. Cuz, well,
there was nothing else on. It was 8 am or something. Hail Comcast.
And, yanno, I just wasn’t satisfied with my
first TT fanfics, called Black and White.
As in, I felt the lead-up to the sex scenes was almost completely a PWP,
so I figured an hour ago, “Time for another fic.”
Yeah. I just felt I had to explain that. Because…uh…
…I dunno. o_o
Anyhoo. Songs of inspiration will be listed as
follows.
Author’s Notes (I kid you not, I need inspiration for these) : ICP – Cotton Candy
Chapter 1: The
Gorillaz – Dare, Feel Good Inc.
Without further ado.
Chapter 1: Gunmetal
Raven wandered the
halls of the Titans Tower,
nose buried in another of her dark poetry books. It helped distract her from the activities of
the rest, which at times could get rather annoying. It was a good escape, and she wasn’t exactly
doing it gain popularity points. If she
wanted to do that…well, in all truth, it just wasn’t possible. Her powers simply didn’t allow it. As always, she was destined to be interrupted
from her happy place when the alert went off that another attack was happening
in the city. She sighed and glanced up,
closing the book, making her way to her room to drop off her book before
heading off to meet up with the others in the ‘ready room.’
Starfire
was busy doing what she did worst yet most frequently: Making food.
She took an unhealthy amount of salt and poured it onto a perfectly good
piece of steak, before pouring nearly the entire contents of a small container
of cinnamon, and then nutmeg, on top of it before dropping the entire thing
onto a frying pan and turning the heat on full blast. She hummed as she worked,
a blissfully happy smile on her face as she more or less ruined a rather good New
York strip steak.
Suddenly, she was snapped out of her destructive-cooking reverie as the
alarm blared throughout the tower.
“Oh, by the cursed Zagnorf of the Bleriding Pellezorg…” she sighed, taking the pan off the stove. She adjusted her top and skirt, then moved off to the room where they would all meet before
departing.
Beast Boy idly
watched as Cyborg and Robin sparred. After all, there was nothing else to do.
Robin deftly blocked
a rapid-fire punch, then ducked low and slid closer,
bringing his elbow up into Cyborg’s stomach, but
stopping just before touching. Robin
grinned and took a step back.
“Getting a little
slow, Cyborg?”
Cyborg
returned the grin. “I was just goin’ easy on ya,” he replied loftily.
“Yeah,
sure. Alright, Beast Boy, you
want to-“ He stopped, interrupted by the alarm’s
insistent blare. They all looked at one
another and shrugged before jogging down the hall, Beast Boy lagging behind and
rolling his eyes. Of course, just when
HE was about to actually get to do something.
They all met in the
main room, then they were off.
A few miles away, in
the epicenter of the chaos…
Two young males,
both looking to be both around 18, were in the middle of robbing a bank. Both were dressed in floor-length trench
coats, loose fitting urban camouflage pants, and white t-shirts. One waited by the main entrance, two silenced
Mac-10s in his hands. The other was
hastily loading valuables and cold hard cash into a pair of duffel bags.
“Come on, Metal, the
pigs are bringing in reinforcements, and they got shields this time.”
“Just give me one
more minute, Gun, I want to get all the haul we can
get, otherwise this entire foray was for nothing anyway…”
“Alright, man…” the
one called Gun said with a sigh, lifting the Mac-10s. They suddenly melted and absorbed into his
skin. In their place was a high-power
plasma rifle, powerful enough to decimate any armor the fuzz wore. He stepped just within the doorway, peeking
out a moment. An energy blast smacked
the wall just above him. He didn’t draw
back, however, instead dropping to one knee and poking the plasma weapon out
around the corner, pulling the ‘trigger.’
Metal glanced back
at the sudden high-pitched whine of Gun’s plasma weapon firing, followed by the
agonized screams of the men outside. He
shrugged. It was a dog-eat-dog
world. He zipped up both duffels, now
jam-packed with safe-box-stored valuables and $100 bills. He turned at a sound, and blanched. Standing in front of him were
any criminal’s worst nightmare. The Teen Titans.
Robin smirked slightly as he took a step forward.
“So, you gonna drop
those?” he asked.
Metal shrugged,
dropping them. As Robin took another
step forwards, Metal suddenly lunged at him.
From his right hand suddenly grew a six-foot-long Longsword. Robin jerked back just as the titanium blade
swiped at him.
“Care to dance,
wonder boy?” Metal taunted, a smirk appearing on his face now. Robin narrowed his eyes.
“Titans, go!” he
yelled, as the other four rush Metal, who moved into a defensive stance. Starfire fired two
of her energy bolts at Metal, who tilted his sword to make the sword absorb the
blows. Her took
a step back with each bolt, the force of it pushing him back, but both he and
the sword were unharmed. Starfire frowned and fired a string of the blasts at him,
as Cyborg lifted his arm cannon and charged a
powerful shot, unleashing it in tandem with Starfire. Beast Boy leaped forwards, changing into a
rhino, while Raven turned and wrapped her powers around a desk, hurling it at
Metal. Metal cursed, suddenly spinning
his sword in an expertly-performed deflection maneuver, the metal deflecting
all of Starfire’s blasts. Metal arced the
blade over his head and swiped at the incoming energy bolt Cyborg
had fired. It reflected right back at Cyborg, who didn’t have the time to jump away. The blast slammed into him and sent him
smoking and flying into the wall behind him with a loud grunt. Just at the last second, Metal suddenly
jumped high over Beast Boy as he tried to charge him, and Raven’s desk flew
right into the side of Beast Boy’s skull, knocking him to the ground. Raven grimaced.
“Sorry, Beast Boy,”
she muttered, suddenly trying to reach her powers out to grab Metal’s
sword. But, somehow, she couldn’t. It was almost as if it wasn’t even there.
Robin scowled and
leapt forwards, pulling out his attack baton, intending on out-dueling the
sword-wielding robber. Metal landed
easily on his feet, bring his sword up to block Robin’s first swing, then
tilting it and blocking the second, as Robin spun and brought the other end of
his weapon flying at Metal’s left knee.
Metal spun the sword expertly to block it, spinning and bringing his
blade in an upward-arcing motion over his head and bringing it down on Robin’s
weapon as he began to counter with his own attack. The sword cut right through the steel of
Robin’s weapon. The force of the
connection also knocked it clean out of Robin’s hand. Robin was stunned momentarily. Metal moved quickly. He swung the blade at Robin’s head hard,
tilting it so the flat side of the blade hit the side of Robin’s head, knocking
him out and sending him flying. Starfire gasped and turned to face Robin, then turned back
to Metal, fury etched into her expression, two VERY large bolts of energy
charging in her hands. Metal spun the
sword around him twice then paused it in a diagonal,
downwards-pointing position, one hand resting on the flat surface. Raven turned, about to grab a desk, when a
motion out of the corner of her eye made her stop. Suddenly, an arm wrapped around her neck,
the bone of the forearm pressing hard into her throat, choking her. She struggled but stopped when suddenly she
noticed, again out of the corner of her eyes, the barrel of a submachine gun
move up and press against the side of her head.
“Don’t move, either
of you,” said a voice behind her. Metal
kept his eyes on Starfire, not blinking or easing his
stance. Starfire
hesitated as she looked over at the man who looked exactly the same as the one
she had just been ready to cook with a rather sinister-looking weapon of some
sort pressed against the side of her friend’s head, then at Metal, unsure of
what to do. Raven gasped for breath,
clutching hard at the man’s arm but unable to pull it away, unable to draw the
necessary concentration to use her powers, her vision starting to swim. Just as Starfire
looked back at Metal, the gun in Gun’s hand shifted, turning into a
tranquilizer pistol. It aimed lower,
shooting Raven in the neck, before turning to Starfire
and shooting her twice in the shoulder. Starfire gasped, then woozily fell
to the floor. Raven, too, stopped her
struggles and went limp, her eyes flickering shut. Gun eased his chokehold and slung her over
his shoulder. “Want me to carry that?”
he asked, pointing at the duffel bags.
“Yeah, you take one, I’ll take the other bag and girl.”
“Alright. May be helpful to have
bargaining chips.”
“Precisely.”
Gun moved over and
slung one bag over his free shoulder as Metal grabbed the other and knelt next
to Starfire, picking her up and slinging her over his
shoulder. Then, quickly, the two made
their escape.
A few minutes later,
as police stormed into the place, Robin slowly managed to regain
consciousness. Beast Boy was already
conscious and being treated for a concussion by a police medic. The desk had hit him extremely hard…even as a
rhino, he had been lucky to not have had his head crushed. A medic nodded at him.
“Are you alright?”
he asked.
“Yeah…I’m fine…” he
muttered, looking around. The only other
one he saw was Cyborg, who was being treated as well
and was starting to regain consciousness.
“W-where’s Starfire and Raven??” he asked, looking around wildly, as
the medic placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Relax, son, or else you’ll injure yourself further. There were no others when we entered…the
people who robbed the bank must’ve kidnapped them,” he said in as calm a voice
as he could muster.
Robin’s eyes closed,
his teeth clenched, and he looked ready to practically explode, until the medic
injected him with a small dosage of a tranquilizer. Robin fell back into unconsciousness. Outside, the medics were busy collecting the
wounded. Surprisingly, not a single
policeman had been killed. All the shots
directed at them had hit arms or legs, only disabling hits, and temporary ones
at that. Not a single fatality.
Well guys, that’s chapter one. :3
Chapter two is coming up next.
