Disclaimer: I do not own Justice League, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
Spoilers: Barely, but I suppose it would help if you’ve seen “A Better World.” If not, no biggie.
A/N: Idea taken from a whole genre of X-Files smutfics “Tight Quarters,” aka “One Bed Fics.” For some XF fics of this type, check out the href="http://whispersofx.crosswinds.net/whispers/tight.html">Whispers of X website. And I’m also ripping off our resident smut goddess Ugly_Girl ( ;) ) by going to the XF fics for inspiration, AND (most importantly) her lovely scene in “Haunted.” :p
4luv—you owe me a pic for this. :p

“Who’s idea was it anyway, to let Luthor have that stupid gun back?”
Batman glared at Wonder Woman, completely catching the implication of her statement. “At the time, you weren’t exactly disagreeing.”
Diana winced as she put too much weight on her twisted ankle. “I had no problems taking out my evil version. You and Superman were the ones who insisted on putting a gun that could remove our powers back in the hands of Lex Luthor!”
He chose not to tell her that the Lorders weren’t quite as evil as she’d like to believe, that maybe not everyone is so black and white. Instead he growled, “Maybe if you didn’t rely on your powers so much . . .”
She muttered a curse that he couldn’t quite translate. He made a mental note to study her Greek dialect once he had a free moment.
After two minutes of silence, she sighed. “We’re lost, aren’t we?”
“The Javelin is six hundred yards away. If we continue traveling northwest, at our current speed, we’ll reach it in fifteen minutes.”
“We’re not traveling in a northwest direction.”
“Yes we are.”
“No, we’re not.” Diana pointed skyward.
“I know which way we are traveling, because I am not lost.” Despite his bravado, he chanced a peak at the stars.
Damn.
“But maybe if you didn’t rely on your belt so much.” She glanced pointedly at his belt-less waist.
He never got to reply, because with his next step, he disappeared into the forest floor.
“BATMAN!”
*******************
Diana grunted in pain and discomfort as she held onto his arms. He was right—although she would never, ever tell him that—she did rely on her powers too much.
“I’ve got you.” She kept her eyes on him, rather than the black abyss below him. With horror, she realized his gloved hands were sliding right down her bracelets.
“Diana, let go! You’re going to fall in with me!”
“No, I can do this.” Her words were rushed, as she inhaled deeply and pulled again. She never realized how heavy he was. Hera, what did this man eat?
“Let go and get to the Javelin.”
“No, I’m going to—“
Her words caught in her throat as she did indeed plunge into the narrow abyss with him. The fall only lasted sec, bu, but her body screamed every time a rocky crag scraped against her skin.
A thud and Diana gasped for air, having had the wind knocked from her lungs. With a sickening lurch of her stomach, she realized Batman lay completely still beneath her. He had taken the brunt of the fall, as well as her weight hitting him.
*****************
The first thing he realized was, he couldn’t see. But second, barely secondly, was that Diana was on top of him. A lot of her was on top of him. Two firm, rounded parts were pressed against his face and he—
She slid off and he gasped for air. He started to sit up but her hand shot out and pressed down on his chest.
“Um, Diana . . .?”
Her voice was breathy and low. In fact, he could feel her breath against his neck. an>
“It’s too low. You’ll hit your head.”
Cautiously he reached up and she was right. It was a stone surface only a few feet above them. The hole they fell down acted as a chute into this small rn. She was close by because it was narrow too apparently. With his left arm, the arm she wasn’t currently pressing her body against, he reached out and as expected, felt cold stone under his touch. But underneath their bodies was a thick pile of leaves, for which he was grateful. Otherwise he’d have another broken back.
“I’m pressed against the wall over here, so there isn’t much room,” she volunteered, in the same breathless voice. Why was she doing that? It was . . . distracting him. Hen>He needed to plan a way out.
“Any injuries?”
She paused, then the same low breathy voice. “No . . . ?”
His voice reflected his worry. “Where are you injured?”
A sigh in the darkness. His vision was adjusting enough he could catch the glimmer of metal on her tiara and bracelets, as well as her eyes, which weren’t looking at him.
************
Hera. This man and his questions.
How could she explain that she didn’t so much suffer an injury, but an embarrassment on the way down? Some sharp rocks jutting from the surface marred the fall and one of them just happened to slice her flesh. She knew it wasn’t too deep, but from the dampness against her skin, she knew it was still bleeding. Any other moment, she would have placed an injury ahead of any false modesty, but not with. . . him.
Not to mention she was really wishing her costume was something more modest right now. Without her powers, she could feel every bit of the cold stone, but if she moved away from it. . . No, at the moment that was not an option. It was awkward enough that she landed with her chest nearly suffocating the poor mortal. She would not dare cling to him like some distressed damsel simply because her uniform was a bathing suit.
Her eyes dropped to Batman’s arm, still against her body. The moonlight reflected off the metal of her costume, illuminating a muscular line from his shoulder to his hand. Each one of fingers lay only inches from her. Her abdomen tensed, in an attempt to put a little more space between her body and his. . . hand. She gulped. Licking her lips, she glanced skyward, towards the hole they fell from.
“I think I could make that climb.”
*******************
Interesting. She was hiding something. “Where are you hurt?”
“It’s just a scratch.”
A scratch? She was such a bad liar. He propped himself up slightly and tore off a piece of his cape. “We need to apply pressure and keep it elevated.”
A sharp intake of breath, and she managed softly, “I’ll live.”
Grunting slightly in discomfort as he rolled onto his side to face her, he grabbed her arm. “Diana. I’m not carrying you out of here.”
He stared in surprise as he felt her pull away. “What are you doing? You’re freezing.”
More concerned with her well being than social graces, he pulled her towards him and wrapped his arms tightly around her. “It has to be about forty degrees in here—you should have spoken up.”
He felt her shiver and rubbed her back. Her face was tucked against his shoulder, muffling her voice. “I feel ridiculous,” she admitted. “I hate being. . . like this.”
“Human?” he asked, his hand still moving gently against her bare back.
“No. Weak.”
“It’s not the same thing?” He kept his voice even, almost nonchalant. But if this was how she regarded being non-powered. . .
“No it isn’t.” She pushed away from him, to look into his face. “You’re human, but not what I would consider weak.”
He had no response to that, so he pulled her body to his once more and started rolling her towards the leaf-covered ground, with the intent of keeping more of her bare skin covered. ‘You’re protecting a teammate from the cold,’ he reminded himself over as he took his place on top of her, shielding them both with his cape.
But then she yelped in apparent pain.
He jumped, startled, hitting his head. Clutching his head with one hand, he groaned, “Your non-injury I presume?”
******************
Well she certainly wasn’t cold anymore. She kept her face, red with embarrassment, firmly pressed into his shoulder. Once again astonishing her with his gentlemanly behavior, he wordlessly kept the makeshift bandage pressed to her . . . injury. . . as she lay on top of him, his cape over her.
And yes, it was slightly elevated, as he had originally instructed.
Too many sensations were traveling through her body—and all because of this. . . man. She tried not to move, to not grit her teeth in frustration, but Shayera’s words “Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it, Princess” played in her head like a mantra.
His body was organic steel beneath her. Firm and flat in his musculature, yet so warm and comforting. His arms, with the same rippled muscles surrounding her, were enveloping her far more effectively than his cape. Then to his hand, cupping against her. . . injury. She tried to think of anything but the feel of his fingertips resting against her—so close to where her thigh met her bottom. She tried to ignore her wish that his other hand would drop from her back to her hip. She didn’t want to wish he would press her pelvis to his and . . .
She really didn’t want to think about any of that.
But why was it so hard to breathe?
And how could he lay there, almost serenely? This could hardly be a normal circumstance for him either—she didn’t care how prepared he was.
Sighing, she turned her head to glance at him, the source of her frustration. “You’re grinning!” she exclaimed in betrayed astonishment.
His head turned sharply to her. “I am not,” he countered defensively. His head returned skyward, and added in a rare bit of humor, “I may have been smirking though . . .”
She knew he was looking at her from the corner of his eye, mask or not. Pressing her hands to his shoulders to push herself up and better glare at him, she groaned dramatically. “I can’t believe I’ve been laying here, injured, powerless, and you are taking advantage.”
The fingers of his cupped hand pressed into her flesh and kneaded gently. Her pain, she suddenly realized, was long since forgotten.
“Advantage?” he countered in a low voice. “Who’s on top, Princess?”
********************
He was expecting more banter. Really, he was. As Bruce Wayne, he was fairly well versed in flirting, but never in the cape and cowl. But with her body draped over him, their current circumstances. . .
He was only human.
Of course, if anyone else ever said that, he’d just as likely throw a batarang in their direction. But with her curves against him, and he touching her as well—there was nothing he wanted more right now than to indulge in something very, very human.
But he wasn’t expecting her to grind her body against his at his taunt.
So of course, an arousal he had been keeping carefully in check since –well, ever since he laid eyes on her—that guard collapsed for the evening.
His “free” hand was soon tangled in her raven locks, pulling her head towards him. Her elbows bent and with closed eyes she sought his lips with a fervor he shared. They teased each other with their lips, all the while her hips rocked against him, his arousal becoming constricting.
His tongue pressed to her lips and parted them, soon plundering her mouth. His tongue explored this part of her, and he couldn’t help feeling pleased when her body halted its grind and she gasped around his tongue.
His hand slid from her cut to her hip, pressing her once more to his burgeoning arousal. Panting, she pulled her head away a moment.
“I can’t—with you—not like this,” she managed.
But as he was still absorbing the shock, her hands moved to his mask and tugged it off. He caught a flash of teeth and knew she was smiling. “Much better.”
Bruce’s grin nearly matched hers as he kissed her once more.
*******************
As taken as Diana was with the feel of his lips, she wanted to feel every inch of him, or as much as their current quarters would allow. As they continued their frenetic kisses, her legs slid to either side of him, giving her room to slide her fingers over his chest. She felt a groan against her lips, and thus encouraged, slid her hand inside his shirt.
Her nails grazed him lightly over his taut abdomen. Gently, she traced every scar with her fingertips. She felt his breath catch against her lips, so she pulled her lips from his and busied herself with removing his shirt.
Watching her intently, he lifted up slightly, as she pulled the shirt completely off. “I’ll keep you warm,” she assured him with a smile.
“I’m not worried about that,” he choked.
She shushed him with a kiss, then ducked her head to kiss his neck. His scent was so familiar, and yet she felt like she was experiencing all of him for the first time. Her lips then sought every scar over his battle-worn body.
Soon she found herself at the waistline of his Kevlar tights and black briefs. There was no hesitation on her part as her fingertips slid under the band. But he grabbed her wrist.
“No fair,” he said roughly.
******************
She was still straddling his hips as she moved her head to his once more. He kissed her with more hunger than before, his fingers working on the catch. As the red fabric gave way, she rolled to her side onto the leaves, giving him a full view of her flawless skin in the moonlight.
His calloused fingers traced a line from her jaw to the supple skin of her throat. Then on to the smooth line formed by her collarbone, to the hollow in between.
His eyes met hers.
“You’re beautiful.”
His gaze once more followed his fingertips, which now traced a path over the smooth skin, lingering over her heart. It beat faster under his hand. His fingers ran a path lightly around the outer curve of her breast, eventually palming the weight of it in his hand. With a rough thumb he grazed her nipple gently, watching the surrounding pink skin pucker slightly at his touch.
His hand surrounded the breast once more, then leaned in to kiss her hungrily. He continued fondling her, until he rolled once more to his back, pulling her on top. His tongue darted out and flicked at the nipples as his hands slid down to her shorts.
Bruce paused, his eyes asking her permission.
“My turn?” she smiled.
************************
Diana took advantage of his amused surprise to drag her nails lightly over his chest, through the sparse hair. Once more, her fingers slid inside his waistband and she tugged the briefs and tights down slowly. He lifted his hips and she noted how ragged his breathing had become.
The material caught, and she was not so naïve as to not know why. Staring at the rough hair peaking above the dark fabric, she slid her hand in and lifted the clothing away and down.
She stared at his hardened sex a moment before taking him in her hand. The skin like silk, she caressed it slowly, each stroke gaining more confidence and touching him more firmly.
Low guttural groans accompanied his irregular pants. She met his gaze, and matched his darkened stare. Desperately he reached for her. Leaving one hand wrapped around his shaft, she moved her torso up, hovering over him. Giving him one more stroke, she brought her other hand up and cradled his face as her lips pressed hard against him.
Her hips shifted under his touch, helping him get her shorts off and out of the way. Her lips broke away from him when his fingertips played in the rough thatch of hair. Her panting grew louder as he stroked the outer labia teasingly, before slipping one finger between.
He stroked her gently, adding more pressure around the opening. A tremble shook her body when his ministrations reached the nub of pleasure nested within.
**************
Bruce was taken aback when her bucking hips pressed her wet arousal against his hardened sex. He took her hand and placed it on his cock. Then wrapping his hand around hers, he guided it to her entrance.
They stared intently into each other’s eyes as she held him firmly and lowered herself slowly. He had to close his eyes for a moment as her slick core surrounded him, enveloping him in warmth. The reaction was shared; as he watched her throw her head back and moan. A moment of resistance, and she bit her lip in slight discomfort.
“Whenever you’re ready,” he choked out.
She released a shaky gasp and nodded. He grasped her gently by the hips as she pushed downward until he was completely filling her.
As she pulled up, he resisted the urge to thrust upwards, allowing her to control the pace. She dug her fingers into his shoulders and moved downwards once more, with more force and speed.
He growled low in his throat and grabbed at one of her breasts in response. Fondling it desperately, she moaned in return and bucked her hips faster. The thrusts soon became more frenzied, her body slamming against his, her heated inner walls clutching at and kneading at him, matching the throbbing of his own sex.
*******************
She could barely move fast enough to satiate the growing tingle spreading from her heightened arousal. For what seemed the hundredth time that evening, she wished for her powers. But as she felt him beneath her, the heat of his body, the scent of his sweat, she also didn’t want this moment to end.
Soon, the pleasure was too much. Her breaths were desperate gasps for air, coupled with cries and groans from low in her throat. The sensations overwhelmed her until at last, an explosion of pleasure shot through her body. Her hands gripped his shoulders more firmly, his body shaking beneath her. When he trembled violently, she finally let go and collapsed against him.
Diana lay there a moment, never feeling more connected to one person than she did in that moment. The feel of him still inside her, her body throbbing around him . . . the warmth of his body, the beat of his heart. . . it seemed completely natural to lift her head and smile weakly at him.
*********************
Bruce kissed her forehead gently in return. His head fell back into the leaves and he sighed. He loved the feel of her hair against his shoulder. He reached around her and pulled the cape over them both.
“Hypothermia,” he explained.
“Mm-hm,” she sighed into his neck.
He held her tighter and asked in the most innocent voice he could muster, “How’s your injury?”
“Shut up, Bruce.”
He smirked and pressed his lips to her hair once more, and then let his head fall back.
Content.

Above the hole, five Justice Leaguers sat in the grassy forest floor.
“Are they done yet?” Flash asked impatiently. “I kinda want to rescue them already and go home!”
The others glanced at each other, everyone’s gaze finally settling on the Martian Manhunter.
“Do not look at me. I am not checking in on that.”
“Come on J’onn!” Hawkgirl pleaded.
“Yeah, in and out.”
Everyone looked at Flash, who realized his pun too late.
“You really are the Fastest Man Alive,” the Green Lantern cracked.
“It does seem quiet down there,” Superman nodded towards the hole in the ground.
“I am not scanning their minds!”
“Sheesh, calm down J’onn!”
Hawkgirl sighed. She may have seemed simply impatient with Flash and his comments, but in actuality, the Thanagarian was regretting not falling down the hole first.
But with a certain other Leaguer. . .
