I've only read the first chapter - pressed for time - but I must say two things.
First impression - are you aware you used the name Tabitha nearly twenty times in the first part? I am unsure if this is deliberate, its amusing as I am not very much drilled on the name Tabitha for the character but you might have gotten away with a little less emphasis! :P
Two, its intriguing and the set up is enthralling. I like the mystery and I will read the rest when I can because I'm very curious. Well done! I'll try to review other chapters when I find the time (precious, precious time) but great start!
