Who is the scarecrow and who is the tn man with Reggie and Juggie?

After three chapters, I'm in suspense wondering what Betty and Reggie did to mess up what they had. That last sentence of the first chapter made me say "wait, WHAT???" Throw that redhead out of bed, Betty! I'm intrigued, keep it coming!
